Sweetwater's customer service is phenomenal! They have a good range of products and with good prices. The guitar we bought was affordable and great quality. It arrived quickly with no damage - it was packed well. I was surprised and impressed to get a call from Sweetwater just a few days after the guitar was delivered. They were just making sure everything was good. That's great customer service!

“Deceptive Pricing l False Advertising”

Ordered some products then the next day A representative reached out and said they were sold out & products would not be available till January and wanted to know if I still wanted them. I let them know I did. They reached back out two days later saying their was a glitch in the website and I could not have the products for the price I purchased them for. I was fished to their website to buy the products on a sponsored advertisement from Google. False Advertising is Illegal. My Wife has got me gear from these guys for years. I have advised her and she will no longer make purchases through them.

I recently purchased a guitar on-line from Sweetwater Music. My first ever on-line guitar purchase. After, I received the guitar, aesthetically I did not like the guitar as I'm super picky. Therefore, I contacted Sweetwater and spoke with the sales engineer assigned to me who assisted me in selecting another guitar of the same kind form their vast collection. He also connected me to the customer service department and we made the arrangement for return and an exchange.

Subsequently, I saw another guitar listed in their gallery, and I decided to choose that one instead. I called back and my sales engineer as well as the customer service representative both had already left for the day. Therefore another sales engineer assisted me and kindly secured the guitar of my choice, and sent an internal memo to the customer service representative requesting the change.

All of the aforementioned activity after the initial receipt of my purchased guitar and returning it, took place in less than a 24 hour period including the shipment of the replacement guitar which I received the next day!

As a result of this experience with Sweetwater Music, I know for a fact that they provide more than an excellent service to their customers, and the company with it's dedicated employees really stand behind the fine products that they sell!

Sweetwater sound is simply the best musical gear retailer.as a direct result, i have been a very loyal customer. Why? Many reasons: they have the best customer service-hands down. Stores like guitar center completely suck and in fact they're probably going bankrupt because of it; for many reasons like: the "i only work here" attitude.[never] the case at Sweetwater. There's always someone who's knowledgeable. If 1 person doesn't know an answer, you're quickly referred to another rep who does specialize in whatever piece of gear/dept. To fulfill your individual need. Everyone's extremely polite, patient and honest. They re not used car salesmen. They're pretty much all musicians or sound techs or people like me who've worked in the music industry as well. Sweetwater stands behind what they sell.if you ever have an issue with anything [say it's electronic or something]their tech support is bar-none.if something's ever wrong, they make it right.if ever anything's defective in the slightest, they promptly email you an rma label.other chains don't do that -seriously. When shipping... it's lightening-fast. Often same day[especially when you're a long-time customer]that's 1 thing about them... they value loyalty... and reward you for it. I buy everything from Sweetwater.
This particular order was for a pair of D-25 rack snakes. Not really high tech, but you want them to work. These do. Install them and forgetaboutit.

Sweetwater Sound provides American customer service the way it is SUPPOSED to be! I recently made two separate purchases -- small accessory items in each order -- and within a few days of each purchase I received a PHONE CALL thanking me for my purchase and asking me to contact them (and that customer service staffer directly) if I had any issues. That's just way over the top, not to mention the small pack of assorted candy they included with the shipments. I guess they are trying to cheer us up after almost a year of pandemic frustrations, and the candy certainly brought a smile. Now: will they do this consistently -- i. E. include surprise treats? Don't know; but one thing that has been consistent over the years is their high quality products, tech'-educational help, and customer service. I have also dealt with other large music / sound vendors (zZ...; GtrC; MusF... etc.), and while their initial prices might be a little less, after actual shipping charges AND customer service -- there is no comparison. Sweetwater gets my vote, and my business.

If you don't need help with your products and you research them, then shop at musicansfriend, wwbw, zzsounds and even guitarcenter. They offer points which is money back... the only time I buy at sweetwater is if I need financing on high end equipment like shure axient or yamaha cl mixer... ever since 2018 when they started charging taxes, I started buying from other companies... I've been a customer since 2010 off and on and only have used my sales engineer once. Another thing, I've spent about ******* at sweetwater and still struggle to get a good deal,, its hard to negotiate with them, you think i would at least get 5 percent off after 10 years. Agiprodj gives 15 percent off most of the time.

First of all, let me say thank you to Sweetwater's sales tech, Mitch. I have wanted a Humming bird guitar all my life and could not afford one. Then I learned of Epiphones new inspired by Gibson hummingbird. I order one from another famous guitar co. And when it came it was starting to come apart on the side wood where they met at the bottom of the guitar. I took it back and they gladly said they would send me another. Well it came with a bowed neck, so I had given up on Epiphone. But still that sound was still in my head. I called sweetwater and talked to a sales rep, named Mitch, he was was on top of this whole thing. And told me they were sold out, knowing their inspection process, of 55 points, I put my name on the waiting list. Well after a few weeks Mitch called and said they had some come in. I jumped on it and got the guitar 2 days ago.
I cosmetically check it completely and not a flaw. I set down and tuned it, but was pretty close out of box. And finally did my first strum, the sound is amazing and plays so gracefully it's finish is like it came from the late 60 or early 70 s beautifully done by epi, All I can say is, if you want service and knowledgeable people get it from sweetwater. They made this old man very happy

I had recently purchased an expression/ volume pedal for my MX88.
I'm just getting back into playing and recording music so I purchased a low cost pedal to experiment with. It was the - Nektar NX-P Universal Expression Pedal. I wasn't sure how it would work but since testing it out it does what it's supposed to as described on Sweetwater's site. It operates smoothly and controls different functions on my keyboard. Yes, it has plastic parts but is well made and stable... it looks good too. For what I need now, it's perfect.

Recently I purchased a (Galaxy Audio TQ8-20Hon traveler Quest Portable Speaker,) A great unit, but I started having trouble with the sound going in and out, I decided to check the battery and speaker connections and found them to be lose, crimped the connections and it works great. I was about to throw it away because it let me down when I needed it most.
Maybe these connections should be checked. I recommend this unit as a great portable speaker.

I promise, just buy something small or cheaper and try out this fantastic customer service at Sweetwater.

I'm just a guy, MeshuggahDave, but this company has easily provided the best experience in shopping I've ever had in all my 36 years.

You get a dedicated service guy to contact at will. They respond virtually immediately unless they'reoff the clock but then you get a reply when they're back on.

I have never been so impressed by a company.

I have never had the pleasure of shopping with a company that employs staff who are just as enthusiastic about meeting your demands as the company service and prices are.

My guy Steve is better than anyone guitar center employs without a doubt.

I consider myself a pro musician and have been working in the industry for 3 decades, it is my life and I spend a fortune on it each year. I have order from Sweetwater 6 times, the first few times there was no problem, after I started spending bigger money however, they became unraveled.

I could not get it resolved until I escalate up to the top of the company. Once I did that they fixed it in 1 day. However I should not have had to contact them so many times. The worst was despite being told several times by several different people they would "personally follow up and I would be called back in a day" none followed through. I also twice wrote for help on their website form with no reply.

It should not take 19 days to get an item that is commonly in stock at all their competitors and I should not have contacted them so many time nor had to escalate it to get it resolved. People were not rude, but everyone there I contacted clearly dropped the ball. I will highly recommend brick and mortar stores from now, but in hindsight I should have known better to buy it from a local store as their price was the same. I have already contacted GE Moneybank about closing my credit account with Sweetwater.

I ordered from them for the first time after buying music equipment at stores for 20 years. I was able to test drive my guitar in store because someone happened to have it that worked there. LTD Arrow 1000. Ordered if from that store, said it was in stock. Waited 2 weeks. Said it was 6 months on back ordered. Ordered another Arrow different color. Was told it was in stock. It wasn't. Wasted another 2 weeks. So I ventured out and gave Sweetwater a chance. For the exact same price, delivery timeline, no delivery charge I was able to get it within 8 business days. FedEx did their best to screw that up and lost it 3 times. They can send stuff via UPS. You should request that. I now have my account on UPS only for future purchases. I got a phone call after I did my online order. They confirmed they actually had it unlike some other guitar store that can't keep track of their inventory. Sent pictures. The inner box was filled with foam and bubble wrap. Guitar played great. Was almost in perfect standard tuning for a six string when I tested it out.

Business History

How do you go from a portable 4-track recording rig in a Volkswagon bus to being the nation's leading retailer of professional recording and music equipment?

Chuck founded Sweetwater as a recording studio in Fort Wayne in 1979. The business was first located in his home on Getz Road, then moved to a subsequent home on Bass Road. Initially the fledgling company focused on providing recording services to local and national artists and businesses.

Two things prompted the leap from recording studio to music retailer. The first was Chuck's frustration with being unable to find a reliable, knowledgeable music technology retailer. Prices were outrageous, and after-sale technical service and support for the sophisticated electronics he used in his studio were non-existent.

Then, in the early 1980s, the revolutionary Kurzweil K250 appeared. This groundbreaking keyboard gave musicians and composers access to realistic orchestral and other sounds, opening new possibilities for music composition and performance. Chuck created his own sound library for the keyboard, and quickly gained a national reputation as an expert at programming the instrument. Renowned musicians such as Stevie Wonder, Kenny Rogers, and other top names began consulting with Chuck, purchasing K250 factory options and upgrades through him. Recognizing the industry's need for a new, dependable, customer-oriented approach to the musical instrument and professional audio sales channel, Sweetwater became a Kurzweil dealer to fulfill these requests.

As Chuck's expertise became known and the industry grew more sophisticated, those original K250 customers returned again and again for product advice. The company began representing more product lines, and rapidly developed and implemented its unique philosophy of relationship-based selling — treating customers as friends —and unmatched pre- and post-sale customer service.

Sweetwater's primary emphasis quickly shifted from recording studio to music retailer. A new building was constructed on Bass Road and was expanded four times to keep up with the skyrocketing growth of the company. But even that wasn't enough, as the company quickly grew to nearly 220 employees. In late 2005, Sweetwater began the process of moving to their new headquarters, located at the intersection of Kroemer Road and U.S. Highway 30. The location's 38,000-square-foot building will be expanded to a total of 150,000 square feet with the addition of a 40,0000-square-foot state-of-the-art distribution center, a rich-media auditorium and recording studios designed by world-renowned acoustician and studio designer Russ Berger, and a technical training center on a 44-acre property that will allow plenty of room for Sweetwater's massive projected growth: 175 additional full-time employees and $150 million in annual sales by 2009, and $180 million in annual sales and 450 total employees by 2010. Most recently, $1 billion is annual sales and over 2000 employees by 2020.

Today, Sweetwater is recognized as one of the most successful and fastest-growing music retailers in the nation. The company has been named to Inc. magazine's list of the 500 fastest-growing private companies three years in a row, and has received the Music Inc. magazine REX Award for excellence in retailing.
