I have worn Talbots clothes for many, many years. They fit my body and my style at reasonable prices. Their service has always been great. BUT for the past couple of years every single top has developed holes in the area where my car seatbelt fits. This is ridiculous!
I succumbed to a catalogue offer of 25% off on the first order. The 5 items arrived. The clothing was very poor made... necklines did not lay flat, fabric listed as Madras was a cheap cotton blend, definitely not Madras. The pants were an awkward length in between ankle pants and cropped lengths and baggy... not the slim profile shown in the catalogue. And the dress! I don't know what they did in the catalogue, but in reality it fit like a potato sack. The fabrics were consistently cheap. I could find better quality at a discount store for 1/3 the price. Never again!
I still have clothing from my first purchase at Talbots in 2006. I have not had any issues with the quality. The leather handbags are on par with Coach and last. I am still using the bags I bought in 2007. I have never had an issue with shipment, customer service, quality, or credit card transactions. The only comment I have is buying 100 percent natural fibers because of pilling-this is due to the natural fiber and not quality. I do not have time to shave my clothes. I am impressed with the shoes, they are very well made and they tend to last.
After 35 years of doing business, I have spent the last 3 months trying to get an erroneous charge removed from my statement. I placed an order for 5 items online - 1 was out of stock. 3 didn't fit or were not attractive and were returned. One never arrived - and I reported the lost shipment. Months later after multiple attempts to get the problem corrected I've run out of patience. The bank blames the store, store blames the bank. I can see online that all items are returned and yet I still have a bill for 116.30 WHAT A MESS Cancel my account
I ordered a sweater that was never delivered. I can prove it was not delivered thru my security system. I have contacted Talbots several times and they keep giving me the run around. At this point I suspect it is my loss however I will no longer shop online or in store. To bad for Talbots because I purchase several items a month.
Something has happened to Talbots. They used to have really beautiful, well-made clothing, but the last few things I've purchased in-store or online have been a complete disappointment. I purchased a beautiful sweater for over $100 and after one wash it was stretched out and the seams were coming apart (I washed in the delicate cycle). I have always purchased Talbot's hosiery, and the last knee-hi socks I purchased repeatedly fell down through the day. Will never buy those again! And I am trying to return the other pairs I purchased and am having trouble getting my return label through the website. Talbot's is losing a long-time customer!
Our experience with Talbots on-line parallels those of countless other customers (likely former at this point.
We ordered 3 items on about 4/24. After too much time passed, we received a delivery date of 6/2. ONE of the items arrived 6/22. No mention of what became of the other items. We finally looked at our order history which informed us that they were no longer available. How long have they been unavailable? Why no communication from Talbots?
What are the chances we will order from the beautiful new catalog? 0!
We are witnessing the suicide of a wonderful company! Why?
I am over Talbots!
In the spring I purhased a pair of relaxed chinos; in khaki color and also purchased a blouse in pink--perfect for work, fit perfect. Perfet for casual Saturday dinner wear! PERFECT.
I went to the closet to check out size, style, etc to order for fall.
I just received the same items--different color pants and different color blouse.
Same EXACT style #'s (from past receipt), same exact size!
They arrived---neither fit the same.
The pants---the legs, they have cut by 1/2" in width from the spring khaki color. My navy for fall are SLIM but not described as slim! My blouse, perfect fit except in the arms--way too tight! They have cut 1/4 inch there! I measured!
So folks, stop cutting your product and increasing the price---we will SEND IT BACK AND NEVER ORDER AGAIN!
Folks, be warned! It's NOT THE SAME!
I received a Christmas gift from Talbot's. When I tried it on the tag fell off which was never sewn in very good (which is poor workmanship). I went to return this item ($150.) but they would not accept it because the tag had fallen off. No store credit, nothing. This is very poor store service. I had my gift receipt to show them but still nothing.
I bought a pair of pants that is over 60 days. Full tags, never worn, etc. I am only asking for the price that I paid for. It is still on the store shelf and it is now $10 more! I just want to use it as a store credit. Common sense tells you that the 60 days timeframe in this case is a mute point. What difference does it make if it is 60 days, 120 days, etc. The same item is being sold and for more money! You would think they would like to keep a customer and I would use that store credit to buy something else and more.
The customer service person was rude on the phone, put me on hold for supervisor and got hung up on. I will never shop at this store again. I will be calling their Talbot corporate office to complain. Common sense does not prevail. They gained nothing by this policy and not making an exception.
Answer: China, where everything else is made these days. I don't think many, if any, of their products are made in the USA.
Answer: They are sneaky. Waited over a month for a jacket, returned it and a month later I asked where is my credit. They said they received and put a credit in my account (not what I wanted as I purchased jacket elsewhere) but never notified me they received and I have a credit. In other words, they just keep unsuspecting customers' money and never tell you. I will never shop there again (except to use my credit if I can't get them to credit my card hahaha)
Answer: I have never had an issue with exchanges. I have never requested a refund.
Answer: The quality of the clothes going back about 10-15 years ago was EXCELLENT. I still have shorts purchased then but they are now showing their age. Purchased similar over the last get years and while they are still $60 the quality is on par with perhaps Walmart
Answer: They are easy to reach and cooperative. They are responsive to customer's needs
Answer: They are a legitimate company and have been in business for many years
