Target has a rating of 2.3 stars from 1,739 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Target most frequently mention customer service, gift card, and online order problems. Target ranks 3rd among Department Store sites.
Target is my go-to retailer for its combination of affordability, convenience, and variety. Whether I'm shopping for groceries, household essentials, or clothing, Target consistently delivers quality products at reasonable prices. I appreciate the ease of shopping both in-store and online, as well as the frequent deals and promotions available to Target Circle members
I was an avid Target fan years ago when they sold brands that people actually liked and wanted to wear. Then for some reason, who ever they have as buyers lately, are totally missing the mark, esp on clothing. I never see anyone looking (or buying) their clothes these days. I only buy here for my 5% off w/Red card purchases on certain items. Have no idea if they can 'recoup' as they've been 'in the dumps' now for years imo.
I hate going into target, but the online store still has everything I love! My only complaint is that they are sometimes out of stock of my size, but that's not a big deal ;)

Target has a very wide range of merchandise, and even has some surprisingly high quality stock in its inventory. It puts its rival Walmart to shame. It is my "go to store" for everyday items.

Those queer clothes and supporting the pagan lifestyle have cost you my business for life. The 5000 friends I have on facebook all feel the same way. Didn't you see what happened to bud lite?

TARGET IS A PLACE THAT MY WIFE AND I WILL NEVER SHOP IN AGAIN. THEY MAKE RULES FOR CERTAIN PEOPLE, OVER CHARGE YOU FOR THINGS YOU BUY, NOTHING TO BUY IN THE STORE. WALMART IS ONE THOUSAND PERCENT BETTER.

Another superb portal to find the right kinda product for your daily use. Target works great even when you don't want to order things but in the end you do!

This is the WORST! It began when I ordered 7 items. I sat back and waited for the e-mail they promised. Never arrived. I started a series of calls to people, then supervisors, then the local store. Finally went in and picked up 4 items. Then I got a song-and-dance about how two items were in fulfillment house. No explanation for the lack of an e-mail. And then they told me the other item was on their floor, but they sold out. And that they'd have everything together in two days. So, I called first. Sure enough, they had 2 of the 3 items. They never got the last one. Then they said they might have re-ordered it for the store. So, they put me on hold and looked. They found that item and put it with my other two items. Then they told me they would give me back what I paid for that item (8.97) and the new charge was 22.10. I said I didn't think it was that much. Then the charge went down to 11.10. When I walked in with paperwork (always keep your paperwork) and showed them the 8.97, they agreed to charge me that price. Then they turned around two days later and overcharged me and didn't give me the refund they promised. So now, they have overcharged me twice. Not to mention all my wasted time on phone calls, gas, going in twice, no e-mail and the general aggravation of the entire experience. I generally like Target when I'm at their store. But no more ship-to-store til they clean up their act. Excuses don't cut it. Almost every other store has managed to create a supply chain that's smoother than this. Why not Target?

I ordered a number of bags of snow melt because we live on a steep hill at elevation, and i buy these ten at a time. I placed an order since i had only two bags left. After placing the order, being informed that the product was in stock and set for free shipping with delivery within ten days (which would have arrived prior to the next ice storm on our hill), i received an email saying the shipping was delayed. A week later received another note regarding delayed shipping. Then the next evening got an email cancelling the order! Cancelled it?!?!? Yes. As i was out of town, as soon as i returned i called customer service, they informed me that they had a computer glitch at the time of the order resulting in cancellation. I had to reorder it, and when i said i need it now, will they take care of expedited shipping to get it to me quickly i was given ten minutes of excuses, and i finally gave up and cancelled the new order. This is unbelievable. I will never shop at Target, or Target.com again if this is their idea of customer service. I am going to try to cancel my registration with them to ensure that the next time they are hacked, that my information doesn't go out with everyone else's.

I order a lot from Target, and with the RED card it's always 5% savings, and FREE shipping. Very convenient for birthday gifts for the kids and the parents have a convenient location for returns if needed.

I witnessed the "Controversial merchandise, which included "pride" clothing for infants, "tuck-friendly" swimwear, and items created by self-proclaimed Satanists and transgender activists".! I will never step foot into or order online ANYTHING from TARGET EVER AGAIN!

I've done some online shopping with target and overall their products are good. However, I feel slighted over some other products. Not sure why you would sell good quality items and then bad ones.
Tip for consumers:
Check the product reviews before you buy. It's a rollercoaster ride from one item to the next. You never know what you will get.

A step up from Walmart for sure! They may not have everything but they do have lots of cool items though, that you will not find at some of the other big box stores!

Had a problem with my payment (could not get the website to accept my credit card), but after a quick chat with their customer service they fixed everything and were very polite and helpful.

Ordered two items online, only one showed up and I was not happy about the quality. Called and spoke to a nice woman who was very understanding and apologetic. Gave me a full refund.

I love my Target RED card, you get FREE shipping on big, heavy items (I bought 2 rugs, 4 chairs, a bench and a dining room table) and it was all shipped quickly & the shipping was really FREE! Also when I use my Target card I get an automatic 5% discount, that plus they are always running a sale somewhere on the site, the saving can really add up.

Target card paid for. Never received confirmation but they sure got the money. Then customer service, which is absolutely horrible hung up on me. TWICE!
Tip for consumers:
Abused and chastised by customer service who hung up one twice

So, I went to the Target website on behalf of my dad, who likes a brand of men's shirts they carry. I typed the brand name into the search box, and there were zero results. I was confused, but then I just typed in "shirts", and again, there were zero results. No matter what I typed in, there were no results. So, I contacted Target through their online chat function. I immediately explained the issue to the man in the chat, and after several minutes of silence, his response was something like, "I'm sorry you're having a hard time using Target's search function. Can you please tell me your whole name and email address?" And I was like, "It's a website problem!" He asked if I was using the app or a browser, and I explained that I was using the browser at my home box computer. He asked me to try a different browser, so I switched over to Microsoft Edge, which I never use (I guess it came with my computer?), and the same problem occurred. Then he asked me to clear my cookies and browsing history, and I left the conversation. Because whatever's wrong with their website, it's not my fault. Good grief.

Target blows away the other big box stores, It is an all around better user experience. Their stores are always clean, well stocked & brightly lit. You can easily find employees nearby to help. When busy, they open additional cash registers. (Walmart's refusal to open more than 1-2 registers even with 6+ in line was especially aggravating). The family bathroom is a Godsend. And who doesn't like the Starbuck's and snack bar?!? With the addition of the RedCard we are saving an extra 5% right off. Add on the CartWheel app and I frequently save an add'l 5% (or more) on various items. Plus an extra 30 days for returns. When it comes to returns (even gift recipients), Target customer service is less hassle by far! We have used wedding & baby registry and found them helpful. Most locations have added groceries including many gluten-free options. Prices (especially frozen) beat our usual grocer even before the RedCard discount. Target always has excellent sales. The meat/produce selection is small but of good quality. We use Costco & the farmer's market for those anyway. Their home products are better designed than others. They're big about being fresh and on-trend. Service thru their website is dependable.
Tip for consumers:
As a RedCard user, we get free shipping. Login and the site stores items in your cart long-term (or make a favorites list). The user reviews are helpful. Through cashback sites, you can often get an extra 3% back.

Always have merchandise sitting all over. Truck team seems not helpful nor knowledgeable. No staff. Management just sits around. Don't go. And no american flags or bibles wtf!

Another antiquated business that needs you to create yet another marginal internet account instead of using top-level single sign on SSO providers e.g. Google, Facebook

Some nice things. Always more expensive than other stores. Employees suck and so do the attitudes, I really think popcorn belongs in movie theaters and circuses.

I ordered a Cabinet almost 2 weeks ago and it arrived damaged. I called the same day and I was promised a refund once the item was picked up. I was sold a new cabinet on the premise that I would get a refund, and 2 weeks later the dammed goods have not been picked up and I don't have my refund. I have spoken to Dawn (who was very rude), and Larissa, and their delivery company EFW, I was given Housebill# *******, Tracking # *******833, Reference case #******* (latest one), and still not refund or pick up. At this point I lost confidence in Target and I will need to contact the better business bureau and the police to dispute the charge on my card.

I thought Target was a better company than this. Because our computer and emails were hacked, requiring us to take our computers in for repair and to have them cleaned, also requiring us to change our email address and notify all of our contacts, we did not receive our email bill from Target for $17.65. We changed our email address, etc. with Target as well. It was a very time consuming and difficult period but at the same time my husband was diagnosed with a serious illness. He is the bill payer in the family. We usually paid cash at Target but would occasionally use our Red Card. In any case, we never received our $17.65 bill and discovered that my extremely good credit scores had lowered considerably. When finding out why, that it was Target that had sent in the negative information to the credit bureaus, this caused all kinds of issues with our credit for such a very small amount of money. We would never knowingly jeopardize our good credit for the small amount of $17.65. We were told by the credit bureaus they would remove this negative information from our report if Target would notify them. However, Target would not cooperate after explaining all that happened. I always thought Target was a good, honest company but they told me it could not be changed which is totally not true. I am very disappointed they would not take the time to change this negative information with the bureaus in light of the facts presented to them. We cancelled our card and will never return to Target again.
