Target has a rating of 2.3 stars from 1,739 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Target most frequently mention customer service, gift card, and online order problems. Target ranks 3rd among Department Store sites.
Target is my go-to retailer for its combination of affordability, convenience, and variety. Whether I'm shopping for groceries, household essentials, or clothing, Target consistently delivers quality products at reasonable prices. I appreciate the ease of shopping both in-store and online, as well as the frequent deals and promotions available to Target Circle members
I was an avid Target fan years ago when they sold brands that people actually liked and wanted to wear. Then for some reason, who ever they have as buyers lately, are totally missing the mark, esp on clothing. I never see anyone looking (or buying) their clothes these days. I only buy here for my 5% off w/Red card purchases on certain items. Have no idea if they can 'recoup' as they've been 'in the dumps' now for years imo.
I will NEVER ever order from there again! I ordered and was given a 3-5 day delivery time and it's still not here and may not be until next week. There's no way to track my order and I could have gotten it at Amazon or Walmart and I would have already received it! I really learned a lesson!

Hated this site until i signed up for my RED card. They charged outrageous shipping rates to Hawaii ($60 for a $10 t-shirt) even though they have a bunch of stores here. Now with my RED card, i get free shipping and it's no longer an issue.

I go to Walmart over Target despite Walmarts glaring faults. I hate how Target doesn't remain neutral on issues and throws their views on trending issues in our face. No, you have succeeded in alienating a client base. Keep your opinions to yourselves.

This is one off my go to site online, they are always super nice and have the best price, and I'm so happy with everything i get i never have to return or anything. They are good in my case. I just Adore Target.

I have so far used ordered on-line Target pick-up service twice. I only go to Target for specific items and at that infrequently because I find I waste too much time in large stores. With pick-up you can pick up at off hours and your goods have already been placed in bags for you. The first time the cashier thankfully noticed, a similar but wrong item was placed in the bag. I appreciated her catch. I find the customer service crew a more highly experience group than those on the cash registers (the front lines of fire). I also find it easier to stock up using on-line pick-up shopping. One snafu is that the pick-up store setting on the site is confusing, I had to reset each item for the store I wanted rather than have it immediately set to go to my home store. Must be using some zip feature that is setting a distant store.

I love shopping at Target online and using my REDcard. They give 5% off anything I buy plus free shipping. I shop online all the time and buy trash bags, jugs of kitty litter, toothpaste, etc., etc. Unfortunately they don't ship certain products, so you have to go to the actual store to buy them, and I live 75 miles away from one!

Great! I love this place where I used to work, co workers are here to help you in times the department store is busy from all customers. Love the people and very friendly. Prices are close to Walmart.

Target is fantastic for clothes and furniture that appear higher-end, so that's their reliable go-to. But I have found their food and every day prices to be much more expensive than Walmart, so that's where my business goes for day-to-day.
But their return policy is great and if you want higher quality for clothes and furniture, but not mall prices, Target is your place.

Lately, I have found a few items that I shopped around for, going back to Target as their prices were the best and they had the brands that I like! I also like being able to shop at the store locally or on-line. Their sale prices cannot be beat!

I'll find something I want to buy, add it to my cart no problem, but when I go to pay the item is suddenly unavailable or there is a technical problem. Very irritating. There does not seem to be much communication between a product page and the checkout page.

I like Target they ship my items out really fast, plus I love their customer service. If something they ship doesn't work out or doesn't fit, I can return them at a walk in store and they are always very helpful.

I was hacked back in February they got my discover card bank account and target account and I sent in the necessary forms along with the police report. They denied my claim. I've been with them for two years. So be careful if you purchase with their credit card.

It's been a while since I last visited a Target store. No great loss. What is it that makes a once quality-managed company like Target go downhill? Poor leadership. Under Brian Cornell's direction as CEO, Target stores have demonstrated how shabby a customer is treated these days. At East Boynton Beach, Florida, Target team members ignore their phones, managers do not appear on the floor, and Guest Services employees practice rudeness as the preferred way of dealing with customers. And, don't bother emailing Brian Cornell at the Target address. Those emails don't get answered. Compare prices at Target, but buy from Amazon, Wayfair, or anyplace else.
Tip for consumers:
Shop prices at Target, if you must, but buy elsewhere.

I have been a customer with Target since 2013. My overall experience today with an online manager Myra was extremely the worst experience I ever encountered. She didn't care about keeping me as a customer. She didn't care to try a resolve a problem due to new cards with same card number being issued. When current card hasn't been expired. Rather than offering an apology due to a common error, I was scolded and spoken to as if I were incompetent or willfully difficult.

I attempted to return a large lamp because the on-off switch quit working. I did not want a refund, all I wanted was to replace it with the same lamp because I originally bought 2 of them. I did not have my receipt (who keeps receipts for things you never plan to return?) In order for me to get a replacement/same lamp it. My even exchange cost me $10.83 more because I did not have the receipt. I NEVER shop at Target anymore. :o(

Ordered several items for my home. 1st part arrived a week after order. Exactly what I needed. 2nd order due two days later. (so be aware of holiday season for delivery needs.)
Price was a fraction of what Home Depot & Lowes charge. Shipping was reasonable.

They now require some form of ID, which they swipe, to return merchandise. So I no longer shop there. This is ironic, by the way, because I am concerned about identity theft so don't want my information in their system, and THEIR system was hacked.

I will not be buying Honet Pot, I don't like the fact that the person who has this business is announcing that it's for black women or girls. We need to get over that racist comment and do a product for all people not just black

I ordered a microwave ready for pickup. Walked in to pickup, the looked at my order gave me a basket. When I loaded in the car, I realized not only was it wrong dimensions it was a completely different microwave. I came back in, left the basket at the front, went to find the microwave - they had several. Picked it up and brought it to customer service. Instead of just letting me go with my correct microwave - the one that matched the one in my order. The woman required me to waste 15 minutes to "return" a microwave I never ordered - lie to the computer and say I didn't like it instead of wrong item. Then by the time she finished all that, it was raining. So I ended up having to buy an umbrella and waste another 20 minutes of my life.

I recently found myself house-bound after surgery. I needed essentials and couldn't go out and found shopping online with Target most helpful. Target offers free shipping if you spend $25 and an additional 5% discount if you use the Target Red Card. My orders usually came within seven days.

I received a gift that was purchased at Target. I went to return it as it did not work. However I did not have a gift receipt. The gift, a pressure cooker, originally sold for around $100 and was recently on sale for $79. I can understand giving me the sale price as they would lose money if it was purchased at the sale price and gave me full value. But their answer was to give me a $10 gift card! What a joke of a business. They'll lose more than that by losing my business.

Your FANTASTIC Employee, Mr. Anh, in the "Tech Center", was extremely professional‼ He explained the plug I needed and answered my questions very patiently. I got exactly what I needed and at a good price because of his assistance‼ Thank you, Target, for having such a valuable Employee‼

If Target would improve the search functions and layout, I would give it 6 stars. You get get almost anything delivered for free if you're a target red card customer and it's delivered fast. Saving you another 5-8 bucks and time of going to the store.

Tried to buy 2 ink cartridges, priced at $33.00. Tax is less than 10 percent, so should be about $36. I had a $25 gift visa card and planned to use cash for the rest. I had to swipe card, first, then they said I still owed $26.52 more. So I told them to forget it. They cancelled the sale and said it would be 2 or more days to credit back what took them 2 seconds to take from my gift card. I asked for a receipt and they said the register couldn't do that. The manager told me the same, until I insisted they either print a receipt or write on by hand and sign it. The manager finally printed a transaction listing in his office, showing the voided $25 on the gift card account. Hopefully the money will eventually show up on the card, so I can get ink somewhere in a store from this century. I will never go to Target again. How can their register software be so useless? How can their first suggestion be to just ask me to trust them to credit my card in a few days, with no receipt?
Tip for consumers:
Go anywhere else but Target. You cant possibly be any worse off.

When I can afford it, hopefully some ink another business.
