Target has a rating of 2.3 stars from 1,739 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Target most frequently mention customer service, gift card, and online order problems. Target ranks 3rd among Department Store sites.
Target is my go-to retailer for its combination of affordability, convenience, and variety. Whether I'm shopping for groceries, household essentials, or clothing, Target consistently delivers quality products at reasonable prices. I appreciate the ease of shopping both in-store and online, as well as the frequent deals and promotions available to Target Circle members
I was an avid Target fan years ago when they sold brands that people actually liked and wanted to wear. Then for some reason, who ever they have as buyers lately, are totally missing the mark, esp on clothing. I never see anyone looking (or buying) their clothes these days. I only buy here for my 5% off w/Red card purchases on certain items. Have no idea if they can 'recoup' as they've been 'in the dumps' now for years imo.
I stopped shopping at Target a long time ago. This company is not so much a retailer, as it is a very cleverly disguised 'front' for a host of subversive causes - it merely masquerades as a retail outfit.
This is a company which pays extortion money to Al Sharpton's National Action Network (NAN). Sorry, Target. I'm not going to participate in that. And since they are so humble about their generosity and do not seem to mention this in any of its advertising. I'd like to help them do that here.
Bathroom issue? PUH-leeze, Target. The majority of your customer base may have attended government schools. But even WE know that just because a person wishes it were so, they cannot change their chromosomes. If I were to wake up one day and decided that God made a mistake, and that I should have been born a rabbit. (?) We're onto you, Target. And we're done.

I love shopping here! I have found some great deals and quality is superb!
Anytime I have called for issues in order I received they are quick to answer and sort the issue out. I received the wrong item one time and only spent maybe 5 minutes calling in. A person answered immediately and she quickly reordered the item I should have received after identifying the random one I did.
Their products are stylish and last forever and their Redcard discount and free shipping to my door is super convenient!

Not good for target practice at all. I think the brans name misrepresents what they are about. Testing my AK there lead to a whole counter terrorism squad showing up and getting all up in my business... its called target you dummies. But whatevs still some good kush.

I used Target's online service for store pickup & used my $20 Gift card online. Order # **************
Picked up my order at 10.35 AM today via the pickup area. The customer service representative stated that the Gift card was applied to the bill. IT WAS NOT! (I only noticed after leaving the store), so I spent 10 minutes of waiting on hold to get this number *******680 & waiting another 20 mins for a human to help resolve the issue. To be honest, I don't like leaving negative reviews, I gave them a chance to try & fix the issue but I don't think they really care.
The fact of the matter is that they did not honor the $20 Gift card even after verbally stating it & now since the Gift card was used online, it is no longer valid. So basically, scamming a customer out of $20 = to a 1 star review.

I really like all the changes. They seem to be improving their selection with items that are trendier and harder to find. I wish they did more of the design items - they were always done by trendy designer and all within reach.

I went to Target pharmacy last night with my daughter that had a wisdom tooth extraction and she was in a great deal of pain and after 55 minutes wait they told us that they do not have the pills that the doctor prescribed, that the pills are not fabricated any more! OK if you receive a prescription wound you check it out first and make sure that you have it? And or tell the costumer to go to another place and don't make them wait almost an hour to tell them that you don't have it, my daughter was crying because of the pain and they didn't even care about it, when I told them why they didn't inform us about the situation sooner they just cut me off and said that was not their fault. Bad costumer service.
Tip for consumers:
When drop off prescriptions make sure to ask if they have it!!!! other ways go else where.

I ordered a crib mattress in November. I did not receive my delivery until a week after the promised date in December. I ordered my bed from another company, and although I received it on time, I had no mattress for the crib. I was called or e-mailed every day for a week stating I would receive it on each of those days. We planned it so someone would be there for the delivery each day. Very inconvenient! My granddaughter was born and released before the mattress arrived. I will never buy a an expensive item from Target again that needs delivery. I contacted Target 3 times by phone and e-mail and never heard from anyone by email and the person on the phone never apologized or resolved the issue. Better go with Amazon if you need a dependable delivery! I will!

I give Target 3 stars because they need to pay their ppl a lot more money, close on holidays and be more thorough when vetting their suppliers.
This can be said of most major etailers, though, and as far as those go Target certainly isn't the worst.
My husband had a very easy time returning n ill-fittng pair of pj's i had purchased. Even though they were on my bank card and he only had his. They just gave him cash with no hassle.

I went in today, September 17 for a flu vaccine. After finding the pharmacist who wasn't there at first, I was moved into one of the dressing rooms that they are currently using for administering the shots. The pharmacist walked in with her mask down around her chin. I couldn't believe it. I asked if she would please put her mask on properly, which she did. To be honest, I should've turned around and left right then. It's hard to believe that someone is working in the pharmacy and walks around like that without regard for the people who are coming in to do their part so we can all stay healthy.

Target is a great place! They have almost everything one can need! But they have gotten to big for themselves. A store like that one should be in and out! They lack cashiers and lines are way to long!

Purchased bike for Christmas. Two days later it went on sale. I did not have my receipt and girl at service desk said bring receipt back in anytime before Christmas and they would honor the sale price up to Christmas. That was a lie they did not honor the sale price after bringing my receipt back in! Very poor customer service!

Why do I go to Target? Not just to buy but to relax. I just like to stroll around and look at all the new deals and products.
Being a college student is tough enough so the great prices here really help out with my budget.

Bought a NETGEAR C3700v2 cable modem/router for less than I was paying for my annual rental of my cable providers modem. This device is easy to hook up. And it is able to give me 130 MB per second in Wi-Fi mode. Download in about 10 to 15 MB per second upload. Toughest thing was getting cable company tech-support to get it going. I am pleading with you to make sure you ensure the modem you're purchasing is compatible currently compatible with your cable provider. Or you will be frustrated. I learned way too much about docs is 3.0 3.1 and Internet package compatibility with different routers yesterday. I hope this helps people this is a great router Wi-Fi combo and again it's cheaper than a yearly rental of my cable modem.

Somehow someone got my credit card number and was ordering groceries online in Fla. ( I live in IA.) Target called me and asked me if it was me who was doing this. It was not me and they immediately reversed the charge. Sent me out a new card that arrived in 3 days.

You have to be really fast at ordering online with target.com as items with disappear from your confirmations. The missoni for target mess is the best example of what is wrong with the target online system. I do have to say I have had more good experiences with target than bad, but special sales require extra efforts to get what you want. Target gets high marks for the selections alone... it is hard to be mad at target.

Worst online shopping experience I've ever had. I knew exactly which pants I wanted, including size and color. The store I had gone to had limited selection. Can't shop the website. Can only shop individual stores. Tried random stores across the country, finally found what I wanted, and it reset to a larger size. Finally gave up on buying pants at all and tried to buy digital turbotax instead. I have gift cards I want to use up! Go to checkout, I have to create an account. I don't want an account, especially after a terrible shopping experience. No way to checkout as a guest. I was so done with Target by now I threw the gift cards up in the air. My boyfriend gladly claimed them. I say good riddance!
Tip for consumers:
Don't use the site. Save the frustration and just go to the store. Or avoid the whole company.

Didn't end up buying anything. The website was just too frustrating.

I go to target a lot. Close to home. And my cashier i usually see is not working. A few more trips in I ask another worker wheres Devin. He got released from his job for not going above their standards. I thought he was a really nice gentleman. Walmart has great prices there too. Gonna stay clear for now.
Tip for consumers:
Easy to use, but the corporate letting go of made me angry.

I was buying essentials.

Every time I order something, which will never happen again, they get it wrong, it comes defective or the wrong size or they don't have it in stock even when the website says they do. Terrible company. I'm surprised they are still in business!

I have ordered several things from Target.com. Once I ordered baby bottles that never came in and was never updated on delay of my items. I just cancelled the order after about 2 weeks. This time I ordered an outfit for my husband's birthday party on the 22nd. I ordered on the 4/14 and computer said it will be in store on 4/21. Today 4/21 I get an email saying it was delayed. So I get online and track my order, it is 2 hours away from where I live and now it won't be delivered until 4/27 which is ridiculous. Target need to do better with shipping of items.

I purchased a hoodie. The fabric is cotton, and recycled polyester. It picks up lint and hair from all over the place. I get it cleaned, wear it out, come home, and there is all kinds of stuff on it. Be careful. (order #*******526!)

Pre-ordered online explicitly as item+pre-order bonus bundle (confirmation as fig 1), only the item arrived but never the pre-order bonus which I was supposed to get. Order was changed to item only by the system without even asking me (delivered as fig 2). Costumer service refused to resolve the problem and could not be more useless. Worst online experience ever.

Do not go to to the 541 store in Burlington. They sell expired food and when you call the store and tell them they don't care! Someone can get sick off of that and if my son ate that and got sick it would of been a law suit!. Rosalie the CFT was no help and she was very rude!

I've tried several times to buy things on the Target website but each time encounter many many items that are 'unavailable online'. Why are they listed on the site if they are unavailable? I was trying to buy a rug today and the first 8 I looked at were not actually for sale. It is frustrating because you can't tell if something is actually for sale until you click on the description and choose the color and size. But then I figured out that all the colors and all the sizes are unavailable - so they aren't actually selling those items anymore. I think they are making their selection look better than it is by including a lot of things they aren't actually trying to keep in stock.

Target carries products that are a step or two above Walmart. I recently bought sheets that I am in love with. And I didn't have to buy a whole set. I wanted bottom sheets only and that I what I was able to buy. Target is always on the search for quality products that are made in America. Thanks Target!
