Target has a rating of 2.3 stars from 1,739 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Target most frequently mention customer service, gift card, and online order problems. Target ranks 3rd among Department Store sites.
Target is my go-to retailer for its combination of affordability, convenience, and variety. Whether I'm shopping for groceries, household essentials, or clothing, Target consistently delivers quality products at reasonable prices. I appreciate the ease of shopping both in-store and online, as well as the frequent deals and promotions available to Target Circle members
I was an avid Target fan years ago when they sold brands that people actually liked and wanted to wear. Then for some reason, who ever they have as buyers lately, are totally missing the mark, esp on clothing. I never see anyone looking (or buying) their clothes these days. I only buy here for my 5% off w/Red card purchases on certain items. Have no idea if they can 'recoup' as they've been 'in the dumps' now for years imo.
Ok, first of all, is there a way to filter by items that are available at a store? If there is, I haven't seen it and have been annoyed MANY times. Sometimes I don't have time to wait for an item to be shipped, so I want to know what the store inventory looks like! Speaking of shipping, I once ordered a bunch of x-mas gifts around the middle of November. Sometime mid December I get an e-mail saying 1/2 of my order is back ordered and won't be delivered until late January, do I still want the rest of my order? NO! Cancel everything, I'll do my shopping on amazon. Not happy with this site, although I do love the store.

This company is the perfect example of how not to fo e-commerce. They did a "free global shipping" recently, people wasted their time ordering products and finally they just cancelled most of the orders with no explanation. I will never waste time entering their website.

Ordered a vacuum online at Target.com Wednesday to be delivered to my daughter who lives in another city. The online form said it would be "arriving by Saturday, Sept. 25." That was acceptable to me, so I ordered it. Today I received an email stating it would arrive either Tuesday, Sept. 28 or likely, Wednesday, Sept. 29, - both dates when my daughter's likely working and will not be home to receive the UPS delivery. This increases the likelihood it will be nicked. What annoys me most is the old bait and switch. Target tells me it'll be delivered Saturday and gets me to buy it from them when I could have paid $6 more and bought it through Amazon and definitely had it by Saturday. Target's customer service agent Nick tells me nothing can be done. Really? Well I'm hoping more potential Target shoppers see this negative review and decide against shopping at Target.com. I won't be duped again!
Tip for consumers:
Avoid Target.com at all costs!! Untrue claims about shipping times and a useless, unempowered offshore customer service department.

Unless they've drastically upgraded their site in past few days, I would not recommend anyone to plan to find their way around it easily. It's a mishmash of products, organised in weird and incomprehensible ways. I went on target.com, looking for a hat. A HAT, and ended up sifting through about 20 pages of bathing suits, belts and shoes... since they were red too. See what I mean about the weird organisation?

I've never understood this store. They market themselves as a 'discount' type chain such as Walmart, yet over charge for everything! Their furniture is extremely expensive considering the poor quality and the fact again they are a "discount" store. Their shoes are literally made of the cheapest possible materials. They also have a no makeup return policy which is illegal in the US! Not really sure how they're getting away with that. BUT their supermarket sections are priced comparable to Walmart, so yes in theory they are a discount store. When they see fit.

I hate this site. For being such a large corporation you'd think they would have a decent website/online ordering interface. First of all, the site rarely loads correctly. When it does, they tell you they have something in stock, you pay, wait for shipping, and then they email you telling you it's actually not in stock. Yet half the time it is, they basically just cancel your sale for no reason. This has happened more than twice to me. I refuse to buy anything else on Target.com ever again and recommend no one else does either!

I would shop Target if they offered free shipping. We own a mom and pop cottages/motel and we do much online shopping for all kinds of business supplies. Targets prices are the same as competitors who ship for free too.

I used to love Target. Would shop there a couple times a month and always pick up clothing or shoes, home items. The merchandise has been cheap and tacky. It seems they have given up quality and style for low margins. Too bad it was such a great store.

Love Target! Prices are really better than CVS, Walgreens, etc. I love their return policy. I just found an unopened knee brace I had bought in April for my son. He never used it, but left it in his room. I took it back to Target and it was returned, no questions asked! I didn't have a receipt but used my card. I ALWAYS use the card so they can easily refund me on my card. You also get % off your purchases, so it's totally worth it.

I have to say, I can't say enough about TARGET! I shop in person and I shop online ALL THE TIME. You literally can find everything there. The card is great, save 5% on every purchase? Why not get a card and use it? I just went the other day to return something I purchased online and it didn't fit. I also had a skillet that I bought but never used. They were able to easily find the item that didn't fit online by looking at my card, and they issued me a credit. The skillet was probably bought at least 6 months prior, but still had tags on and was never used. I was ready to just say forget it and they said we can give you a credit. Since I won't use the skillet, I took the credit, which was probably for the amount I actually paid. I love this store. No hassles when you want to return something. The pharmacy items are always cheaper than CVS or Riteaid... so it pays to shop here!

Love Target! I shop online and can get most stuff from Target, and since getting their credit card, most of my items are shipped free. Sometimes you do need to reach a certain limit, but other times you can order under $25 or even less and get free shipping. I love Target--the online store and going to the regular stores. Prices are so much cheaper for toiletries than at CVS, etc. Unreal!

Where do I start? I do a lot of comparison shopping, and they always seem to have the lowest prices on most things, especially beauty products. I do own probably too many high end shoes and bags, but have recently bought a pair of faux suede sandals here( learned the hard way suede shoes get damaged easily, so don't spend your money there) that look like real suede and are a hot style that I've seen pretty much identical for, no kidding, hundreds of dollars more. I walked for hours in them, super comfortable. I have even bought a pair of jeans here and a couple of dresses and tees. And on top of that, the stores are well designed and stocked, with very nice, helpful employees. Keep your eyes peeled, they always have some great sale going on.
Then there's the website. Very easy to navigate, with an amazing selection and free shipping at $25.00. On top of that their customer service and return policy are top notch.

IMS is not updated in real time to reflect actual stock in the store, which is absolutely insane to me. Changes in current orders are not emailed to the customer in a timely manner, takes about 24 hours for the automated system to send the email which at that point you've already gone out of your way to figure out what's going on with your order.
Stay away from Target's online ordering if you value your time. It will be wasted, guaranteed.

I like target.com and they have stuff online that you can't get in stores. Got a great deal on plastic storage bins but when they arrived, there was absolutely no cushioning in the package and two of the lids were cracked. But i would've had to take the whole set into to a store and then reorder... and take the chance that it would arrive damaged again. I still order from them occasionally, but they'll never be my #1.

Target always has what Im looking for for my home, personal use or a tool that I need. Im talking about everyday tools that you may need around your household. I can buy plants there, lamps, socks and jewelry. Great place to shop for gifts. Their prices are a bit higher than KMart or Walmart but they offer nice surroundings and great organization within the store; items are always labeled and stored in-order. I like being able to find things easily and you can at Target.

I personally enjoy shopping at target and decided to check out the website. It is pretty convenient, but has its faults. First, often things are listed as not in stock when they really should be. Other than that, it is a typical website with a cart, and you can order things, although it is a bit small. 6/10 recommend

I'm always Leary of walking into a Target store because I'll go in for one item & walk out with a cart full. Target amazes me with the unique decorating ideas for home that they have. I've also seen the clothing line become a bit more "up scale". On line I've found that sometimes you're limited to type of item available but this is another of my favorites.

Target charged me twice for the"free promotional gift card" when I purchased items required for the gift cards. They never said on the site this would happen and after wasting an hour on the phone with individuals who were very hard to understand they mentioned they were having a lot of complaints. Yes! Cheating people leads to this! Never thought I'd say this but I'll shop at Walmart!

I purchased 5 different items online. Initially prompted me that items I'm purchasing are available for same day delivery. Boy was I wrong to order from Target. At check out it turned out that its only available for 2-days. That 2 days became 7 days, then 10 days. I get delayed shipment emails every day. Now my order are being delivered one item per day, such a waste. One of the items is 3 orders of a hand soup, which came in 3 different shipment almost 2 weeks after Target's delivery claim of same day delivery. Target online ordering is at least a decade behind today's norm.

Very cheap items!
To avoid buyer's remorse, I buy what I need, which are usually Boots lipsticks, from target.com. I've read bad experiences that other consumers have had, which makes me avoid other types of purchases online.
Thanks Target!

Target is on everyone's favorite list when it comes to retail stores! What makes this place so special? Their inventory and prices. They have great buyers who think outside the box to be different than other retail stores at great prices. The bright red shopping carts are easy to push (and fill)! This store always makes me happy and with the addition of food, it can be a one stop shop kinda day!

Target is just great. They have their act together. Ordering online is easy, returns are no-hassle, shipping is fast. I love how you can shop online and have it sent to the store for pick up too... so convenient!

Returned to the store where I purchased a phone Thursday for help with locating my contacts. Was advised by associate should not have purchased phone from the other associate as she is untrustworthy and messes up all the time. Checked my sale. All costs misrepresented to me. Then advised verizon will charge me $300 to 400 for returning it. Also told no need to r talk to target management. Nothing they could do

Let's face it, there are X numbered popular items that are available in many stores at similar prices. Target tries to offer a few products e.g. electronics and seasonal attractions that are a bit nicer ($$$) than their competitors. They do this by eliminating some of the really low ball items. But keep your guard up they sell many of the cheap items found elsewhere.
Although I prefer to eat out in nice restaurants I actually enjoy their personal sized pizza.
Christmas time has been a controversy at Target. I love the Christmas season, the decorations and the music. I also enjoy greeting others with a Merry Christmas. Target avoids such holiday amenities by policy (yes they do decorate their stores nicely). So when you enter Target at Christmas time the first thing you will notice is the silence. There was a time I would have been offended at the veiled secularity but I must admit I actually enjoy shopping in a more quiet atmosphere.

Unfortunately, Target latest return policy makes it less favorite shopping place for our family needs. Too many restrictions, like return of kids products and or return with no receipt (limited to certain $ amount per year). Thus, it provides less security for shopping. We all moving to other places, like Walmart, Costco, Sams club now.

Once you find a job there be ready to work from 10 to 12 hours. Somehow they are always hiring people to make themselves look profitable. Their managers are all early twenties to thirty who has not experience managing people. Their turnover rate is very high. When a manager is approached about the lack of working hours given, their answers are very demeaning which is unnecessary. One of the 20 years old manager told me take it or leave it.
