Target has a rating of 2.3 stars from 1,739 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Target most frequently mention customer service, gift card, and online order problems. Target ranks 3rd among Department Store sites.
Target is my go-to retailer for its combination of affordability, convenience, and variety. Whether I'm shopping for groceries, household essentials, or clothing, Target consistently delivers quality products at reasonable prices. I appreciate the ease of shopping both in-store and online, as well as the frequent deals and promotions available to Target Circle members
I was an avid Target fan years ago when they sold brands that people actually liked and wanted to wear. Then for some reason, who ever they have as buyers lately, are totally missing the mark, esp on clothing. I never see anyone looking (or buying) their clothes these days. I only buy here for my 5% off w/Red card purchases on certain items. Have no idea if they can 'recoup' as they've been 'in the dumps' now for years imo.
I love going to Target, it makes shopping easy with their clean stores, easy going partners, and overall a nice atmosphere.

I never thought I'd be leaving negative reviews for Target, but I've had so many bad experiences with them lately!
Let me begin by saying that I've put together at least a dozen pieces of DIY furniture in the last few years, and I've never encountered such flimsy, poor-quality, junky furniture as I have with the items from Target's "Industrial Collection." I ordered the chair, the tall bookcase, and the desk, and all were returned.
The "wood" parts, which of course are not really wood, absolutely reeked of formaldehyde. There were warning stickers on every piece about the danger of breathing it in or even touching it. How is it okay to sell this crap? If you have chemical sensitivities, are pregnant, or if small children will be using these pieces of furniture, I strongly urge you not to buy this stuff. The metal parts were super-thin and could be bent with my bare hands. The hardware, many pieces of which were missing, was made of a cheap, soft alloy and all threaded pieces (screws and bolts) strip easily. But what ultimately made me return everything was the fact that the pieces don't fit together, and holes didn't align in many spots. And I don't mean by just a small amount, like if you push the pieces together you can get it to work. I mean INCHES apart. I spent two hours on the bookcase before realizing that the shelves can't be attached to the upright posts because the holes on the shelf frames are in the wrong spot! This was a terrible experience. It put me off DIY furniture for good.
But what really topped it all off was the horrid customer service. Target refused to pick up the furniture because the pieces weren't in the original boxes. I wasn't about to spend another two or three hours taking everything apart and trying to fit all the parts and pieces of styrofoam back in the boxes! So I had to take this junk back to Target on foot with a hand truck (I live in Chicago and don't have or need a car). Did I mention the closest Target is a mile away? Never, never, never again will I buy anything other than groceries at Target. I'm also convinced that all the good reviews on this "Industrial Collection" stuff are fake.

You can do multiple things on this site for furniture, clothing, food, etc. Anything that you can think of 9 times out of 10 they have it on there.

I'm sure this sounds anal or petty if you're reading this, but one of the things that absolutely drives me nuts is when a cashier asks me: " If I found everything OK."
It's one of the most profoundly inappropriate and stupid questions for a retailer to ask a customer, and here's why:
When that question is asked, it literally means, "did you find everything you brought up to the check-out stand OK."
It should be obvious to anyone that has a mentality of at least one point above plant life, that the customer MUST have found the merchandise they've brought to the check-out stand OK!
Their prices aren't really all THAT competitive either.
I've switched to shopping at Walmart.
At Walmart, the check-out experience is always positive and you don't have to play "20-stupid questions" with the cashier!
Another thing that irritates me (and many others) about Target is that English is NOT REQUIRED to be spoken on the floor. The amigos who work there are almost always speaking Spanish, and sometimes loudly if there is a distance between the two.
It's RUDE and very UNPROFESSIONAL.

A store's job is to sell items and employ workers. It's not to push your politics and ideology. Leave kids alone. Target -stop targeting kids

Decent online gift registry. Kind of hard to navigate to similar items or other parts of a set. Site is to cluttered with random adds.

I ordered my gift cards online because of the delivery date. These cards were to be delivered on 12/9 which was ok but I have to mail these cards out so i didn't have much room for delay. Today is 12/12 and my cards have still not been delivered now I am being told that they are scheduled for delivery today (although the tracking says the number is invalid!) by supervisor Logan, at Target gift cards. As I suspected the cards were not delivered today is 12/13 and they should have been here on 12/9 and of course now the tracking number is no good, Target only tells you after you call and complain that the cards will now take 7 business days. The customer service people refuse to understand that these were gifts to be mailed elsewhere. I know I was told it was to be delivered yesterday to get me off the phone. I am really angry because I could have picked them up at the store but thought I would save time if I got them Wednesday instead of Saturday. The gift cards are not sold through a 3rd party vendor so Target can do what they want. Had I been told that I could not return these cards and that the delivery date would be different I would have not ordered them online. I have been a loyal Target customer for over 21 years, buyers be ware even if its a company you have dealt with for years, it is not the same, the service is now consistently horrible. I might as well shop at the Dollar Tree at least I know what I am getting there. BE CAREFUL TARGET GIFT CARDS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE, NON- CANCELLABLE, NO HELP AT ALL FROM TARGER!

I placed an order with Target.com on November 27th and was told my order would be delivered on November 29th because I had qualified for free 2-day delivery. I waited and waited and waited... I called the company on December 3rd to check on the status of my order and was told they didn't know what had happen but someone would contact me in 24 hours. I was given a case number. 24 hours later, no call. I tried contacting the site again (via chat) and the agent simply disconnected me when I asked why no one had contacted me and asked that my order be delivered Today. I called the customer support number and asked to speak to a manager. I was placed on hold for over 20 minutes and finally was disconnected from the call. I called again and this time I was finally transferred to a manager, Julia. Not a very helpful person at all! Instead of offering SOLUTIONS, or apologizing for the problems I was experiencing, Julia simply said that the RESEARCH team in charge of figuring out what was the delay in my order was really behind and she couldn't really tell me when they would call back. Probably at least 72 hours... She told me I could re-order the item for store pickup (at a much higher price of course). She offered no real solutions and basically just sighed loudly because apparently, I was being an inconvenience! When I asked what she did for the company she told me she was a CUSTOMER SERVICE manager... Well forgive me then for expecting better service from Target! I WILL NEVER AGAIN order anything from Target.com
