This is being written to PROTECT WOMEN & To Protect patrons from being SCAMMED! Experience #1: The guy was sent to remove the bathroom shower doors but acted like he just arrived for a TINDER date! He was asking me if my boobs were natural, "You look like you work out"...Asking me for a massage! He told me he would return the money I had spent to pay me for a massage! The guy was here for two hours, and the ENTIRE TIME, I endured sexual innuendos, inappropriate gestures, starring drooling, and just heathen behavior! I was SEXUALLY ASSAULTED in my own home, and I'm sure when he got to the car, he "finished himself' off - if you know what I mean! Oh, you asked what I was wearing. I'm a DOCTOR! I had a full uniform on, COMPLETELY covered in professional attire! I'm WARNING Women because he was so comfortable being a perverted scumbag, I'm SURE that wasn't his first time, and I was to PROTECT all women from going through what I went through! He appears to use Handy.com as his DATING app instead of his HANDYMAN app! EXPERIENCE #2 - I gave the company one more try and hired someone to mount a TV. How bad can that go, right? Wait till ya'll read this... The NEW TV was the same brand, size, and model as the old TV. The only difference was that the new TV had a QNED picture. I'm fixing up my mom's room, who has Alzheimer's, so I wanted her to enjoy all the beautiful colors and better images offered with the QNED picture. When the handyman attempted to do an EVEN SWAP of the two IDENTICAL TVs - taking the old one off the mount and putting the new one on the mount - he stated the screws didn't fit? - he stated I'd have to purchase a WHOLE NEW mount. Desperately wanting this project to just be completed, I went on Amazon and purchased a BRAND NEW mount - same day delivery - anticipated to arrive within 3 hours. The handy.com guy VOLUNTEERED to return the same evening as he stated that he lives close and it wouldn't be a problem. Due to him stating he would return and I BELIEVED HIM - he left the TV on the bed, which I was CERTAIN would be mounted before my bedtime. When the mount arrived, I called, texted, and called. There was no answer. He did NOT keep his word - the job was NOT finished. So since the TV WAS SLEEPING in my bed, I had to sleep in my loveseat! I called the handyman this morning, and of course, he didn't answer, but he texted me while I was calling him and informed me the EARLIEST he could come by was early evening. WHAT! I've been up all night cuz YOU left the TV where I sleep! When I called Handy.com their solution was to have someone come in about 2-3 days! Uh - NO! I'm not staying awake until SATURDAY because handy.com sends out people who DO NOT DO handy work!
In CLOSING! LADIES—DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU ARE HOME ALONE, as some handymen treat this as their personal TINDER app. Lesson 2: DON'T USE THIS COMPANY if you want handyman work done because they might complete the job or they may make up some lousy excuse to leave - LIE and say they'll return and you'll be standing there with a handful of screws trying to figure out what just happened. SHAME ON YOU HANDY.COM - ANGI.COM & HOME ADVISOR...YES - they're all the same company! The company probably got so many names due to the constant influx of lawsuits, derogatory comments, and complaints from UNHAPPY, INNOCENT PEOPLE who they are stealing money from, traumatizing and making women feel unsafe, scared and disrespected in their OWN HOMES!
