I returned a jacket back to them over a month ago and still no credit back. So then I tried calling them to see what the status was of my return, NO ANSWER, I let it ring forever. Then I tried the online chat…same thing. No response. They are sure quick to take your money but don't give a hoot about anything else. I'd go find something on Amazon. Great products and fast delivery and returns.

Altrec.com is the best website for perusal and purchasing outdoors- related clothing, camping gear, shoes etc. They offer a user -friendly website with real live human help if you need it. In addition, if you find that a year or more later, you've never worn an item or are dissatisfied with it for any reason, they will refund you if you send the item back, no questions asked. I love them!

Great selection, easy-to-navigate website, timely receipt of order, however, the jacket I ordered was too large for my daughter. There was no return insert in the initial packaging and I had to print and fill out form (okay, not so hard) but they do not pay for the return/exchange postage.

I ordered from The House because their prices were great, the selection was fantastic, the sizing information was available on every page for every manufacturer, and the customer service experience was top notch! I will gladly shop The House in the future for all my gear needs.

The returns process was also very painless, they processed my return quickly, and refunded me immediately. No waiting around for weeks for "processing time" like some other online stores. Those details make all the difference to me.

Quality boots at a great price. Very quick ship. Had to return 1st pair because they were too small. Credited my account very quickly. Reordered boots in larger size and they also came in just a few days. Will definitely buy again.

Got a great deal on sunglasses, actually picked up three pairs. Arrived quickly, packed well. Missed a $50 gift card from them that arrived in my spam mail unfortunately, so be on the lookout for offers from them. Mine expired by the time I saw it.

Good value of money.

The House is great! There are many different brands with reasonable prices to fit your budget. I purchased an Oakley snow pants couple of months ago and I am quite satisfied. I went to Ski couple of times in Winter and the quality substantiated its reputation, Also the website is easy to navigate. Order process is straightforward. Shipping updates are on time. Keep it up!

All the gear I ordered was exactly as described. Sizes of pants and jacket were very accurate and good quality. Haven't used them on the mountain yet, so we'll have to see if they perform as advertised. But going off the brand names and reputations, I think I'll be very happy with them.

The critic

New old rider and first purchase with The House. Your customer service rep. I spoke with did not have the skill or the patience for a 55 year old wanting to know of all the new technology available to me. After some coaching she did steer me in the right direction. The course carbon bike she recommended is awesome. The delivered bike was well protected even though I found a tear on the box. All the information and tools to complete the final assembly was bit of a surprise. I would definitely buy again. Mr. C

Had a good first experience shopping with The House, delivery was fast, and coupons were recommended during my shopping, all great things from an online shopping service! However I just wish colors and exact sizing were better and uniformly represented. Several items I liked at were a little harder to compare so this took more time. Despite this though I was very happy with my order and do plan to use The House again in future purchases!

Great selection and price was competitive. I found more variety (and slightly more discount) here in certain categories than other online powerhouses like backcountry or evo. To my disappointment however, the shipping was quite slow and the package came opened! Thank goodness my item was contained in a plastic bag from the manufacturer or else it'd be totally damaged.

The 16 Framed Impact bike is a great fit for an almost 5 yr old boy who has been riding a 12 bike without training wheels for a couple months. The seat post clamp bolt was missing from the shipment so I took one from another bike at home. No reply yet from an email to the house regarding this issue.

I can't say enough good things about the shoes I got from The House. They are really comfy, and whether you wear them with jeans or a dress, they look fantastic. In the future, I would definitely consider purchasing these again!
