Love the selection at The Bay. Recently tried to use a new gift card online and it would not work. Called customer service and, although it took a while to sort out, it was not the customer service person's fault. He stuck with it, resolved the issue and and even sent me a new gift card to replace the one that wouldn't work without me even asking for that.

I returned the item as requested and tracking number confirmed that they received it but nothing happen since then (no refund - no response). Of course, I sent an email and they mentioned that they will respond to my email within 2 or 3 days, but again, no news from them. What kind of business treats their customers that way? The amount of my invoice was more than 600$ for multiple items. Very disappointed.

On October 17,2023, I visited Bay Bramalea City Centre and observed an incident where a man was walking in the store with two heavy comforters. It seemed like some of the workers were cautiously observing him, possibly suspecting him of stealing. Eventually, one of the workers approached him and took the comforters to the cashier, while the man continued shopping.

The next day, October 18, I returned to the store to pick up a few items that were difficult to carry around. I placed them in a bag that I brought with me. Surprisingly, the same lady who had approached the gentleman on the previous day approached me and asked if I needed any help.

I must express my concern about this kind of treatment towards a specific group of people. It is unfair to target individuals based on their ethnicity. I had experienced a similar situation on October 17 when I purchased heavy items and struggled to carry them around without any assistance from the store. It is important to provide support for all customers, regardless of their background. Everyone deserves to feel valued and respected while shopping.

Can't get through to speak to any employees and l've tried for hours as well as sending an email and nobody responded or called me back. Does anyone even work at The Bay -Sherway?

I ordered an item online which came in the wrong colour. Called customer service and was instructed to mail it back and when received by the Bay a full refund would be applied to the card with which I paid. Instead I received a gift card. I did not want a gift card I wanted a credit so I called the Bay, The rep asked for the gift card # and told me that I would receive an email within 48 hours confirming that the credit had been made and the gift card cancelled. Instead I received an email that my request had been denied. No reason given, no method of response provided. I called back to customer service and the same process was repeated. Was told that the person I was speaking to could not issue the credit and that she were not permitted to put me through to a person who could. Again I received an email that my request was denied. At this point I went to e store (a half hour trip by subway). Customer service repeated the same process I had used with the same predictable result. Finally the customer service rep called her manager who put the credit through. I am giving two stars because with one exception everyone I dealt with was very nice and helpful. But they were without authority and the Bay made it impossible for me to speak directly to anyone with authority. I estimate I spent a least 8 hours. To get this refund. I would have been ahead doing a minimum wage job for those 8 hours.I used to like shopping at the Bay because customer service was so good. No longer!~ I will be cutting up my Neo credit card.

I'm not advising anyone to buy from them even the delivery is so bad…they are scammers,I spend almost a thousand this month and last month and every time I go there I use the reward card and I go for shopping and I wont to use my points so the cashier told that i I don't have points to redeem I was choked I will return all the stuff that I buy from them I'm not satisfied at all

16th Saturday December 2023, I went to The Bay "Chanel" counter to purchase a few things.
Three sales persons were there one was with a customer. The other two were doing nothing.
I said hi to the two that was doing nothing, no response, no smile they looked at me like, who the hell are you kind of an attitude.
I asked to buy a product the older sales person said they don't have that. The other one was a Asian person. She was like trying to tell me what kind of brand Chanel was how Chanel don't make new things.
I said to her I got a sample from Holt Renfrew N I'm looking to buy the full size.
While I was still talking to this Asian sales person she just left me. Didn't bother to excuse even. I can understand if I kept on asking questions. She was in such hurry to get rid of me. I was there may be 3 minutes she just didn't want to answer my questions no help at all. Those two sales persons very judgemental.
They treated me differently because of the colour of my skin.i was surprised that attitude from the Asian person.this happened at the Fairview mall point clair Montreal.
The hudson Bay needs to hire people with better values. The needs it's customers. Fortunately for the customers there are other shops that sell fragrances N cosmetic.
I just cut down my list from that horrible counter N went to Sephora who welcome the customers with a smile N treat with care.
They donsell Chenal products but there are other shops just as good as Sephora.thank God for that.
I've asked my family N friends not to buy Chanel from the Bay Fairview point clair.

The Bay needs to hire sales staff with good values.

Ellaria and Emily in the shoe section patiently helped me with a price adjustment for a boot that I ordered online. I love shopping at HBC and the reason is not only for the products, but it is also for the people that give the best customer service.

I Googled dark blue denim jeans The Bay Canada popped up I clicked on image and was redirected to The Bay's website I saw same jean image and price until I selected the same size as on the Google ad price jumped from $39.96 to over $79 The Bay WILL NOT honour the online price. I will NO longer be shopping at The Bay.

I placed online order before Christmas 2021, when I received my order two pairs of socks I paid for was missing... called customer service, they wanted photos of my order and my invoice. I send them photos they asked for. I never get my refund. Also when I got the NEO MC at the store they said I will get 50.$ in points. Guess what NEVER GOT ANYTHING. Called a few times for my 50$ they really don't care. Very disappointed customer ( WILL CANCEL THEIR MC.

Dear Hudson's Bay I know your struggling right now but mistreating customers isn't right. When people kindly ask for a refund you should respect that and give the person their refund back. Holding on to someone's money isn't right. Pretending to don't be able to refund but when ask for the head office phone number magically a refund can happen. People work incredibly hard for their money and come to your establishment to shop because of its name. I could believe that you attempted to within hold my refund for a month. The customer service person tried to lied and say their wasn't anything that could be done. My adds insult to injury is that I never got to pick up the product and then another lied came when Hudson said I had a 20 minute window to cancel my order. There is no where on the site or on the checkout window that indicates this or stipulates that you have a 20 minute window. This is pathetic, unprofessional, unacceptable in every way. I will never shop at your establishment ever again because of this.

PLEASE DO NOT SHOP AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT THEY DO NOT HONOR THE POLICY THEY WRITE AND TREAT CONSUMERS POORLY

I accidentally deleted my gift card and wanted to use it for back to school shopping. I contacted HBC/The Bay on the phone and they said they had no record of my email or the sender's email. I tried via email, chat and got the same response which made absolutely no sense as it was sent from The Bay and I'd just had gifts delivered to me from the same person and all of the emails from those—the person (a family member) was going through a significant life event and I felt it was unkind to ask them something so trivial as checking for an email receipt for a gift card—couldn't Hudson's Bay look it up from that information? Only the recipient of the email would have access to the gift card if they resent it. Couldn't they look at form of payment in our order history, our names and email addresses? I finally contacted them on Facebook and they BLOCKED me. Completely bizarre experience! I've shopped at The Bay my entire life and had no idea they had such creepy customer service.
Edit to add the last three messages would not send following me providing the information they asked for. All of my other messages in messenger are working perfectly.

I spent about $400 on skincare products from Hbc on-line just before the holidays as a gift to myself in 2021. I had allergic reaction to the products and my face turned red and I had breakout's. Normally, when this happens, the retailers can take back the products and exchange them for different ones. In fact, had I purchased the same products (at the same price from Sephora), I would have received a FULL REFUND from Sephora. HBC denied an exchange for other products, and also denied a refund to Hbc gift card.

I was NOT asking for my money back -- just an exchange for other products that I could use, and Hbc's customer service denied it.

I will NEVER purchase skincare or cosmetics products from Hbc ever again. For the SAME PRICE, I am guaranteed a full refund at Sephora.

Lesson learned.

After receiving 3 sofas and a reclining chair, all defective, i am ready to give up. I have spent countless hours submitting photos and being placed on hold trying to speak to someone who can help me. I bought a natuzzi leather sofa. Ive received three and all are defective as was the reclining chair. I am still trying to get the third sofa returned for a refund. I was finally able to get a reselection for the chair… i chose 2 other natuzzi chairs, long story, i paid for 2 chairs. 4 were delivered. I sent two back and cannot get my money refunded. I did not steal 2 chairs! As for the sofa, turns out that Natuzzi will no longer ship to north america and im sure the bay has sent me anything that was returned by other customers. At one point they offered me 15% off in the bay gift cards to keep the sofa. Unbelievable!? I want the sofa that is as the floor model is! So im disputing the charges to my credit card for the replacement chairs and im still on hold with whatever excuse they call customer service. I know it sounds crazy. I cant believe it either!

Terrible after sales service. The staff selling the furniture are great but the after sale service is a gong show. I would honestly say that ive been treated fabulous by sales staff. But after this experience i will boycott the bay

I miss the old customer service from these companies of years ago. Hudson's Bay & Sears were iconic but they both fell into the quagmire. Sears is now gone and Hudson's Bay customer service is virtually non-existent. A couple of years ago I spent quite a bit of money on a boxspring and mattress set. The first boxspring was damaged so it was left with me until it could be replaced. The replacement boxspring delivery drivers damaged my home when they brought it in the house. I tried to call several times to customer service but it was impossible to get a hold of anyone and no one replies to emails. I finally gave up and am going to have to fix the damage myself. This last order had one item short-shipped in the box. I ordered 2 mascaras that came with a bonus kit plus an outdoor piece of furniture. The mascara's and bonus kit arrived with one mascara short. 2 phone calls later and I'm getting nowhere. Apparently it is still "under investigation". I know Hudson's Bay was sold but something tells me this company will go the way of Target. I know this will be my last and final order with Hudson's Bay. It is a very sad, sad day.

Tip for consumers:
We need to hold these companies accountable so please voice your opinion whenever and wherever you can. Ripping off the public is not right and just because they are big companies we have a voice. If these companies are scrimping on customer service (which clearly they have with me) then they need to be held accountable. Use your voice!

The mattress and boxspring I have used (of course) but I haven't opened the second order that is still missing the mascara (value $36+tax).

Don't buy a Simmons mattress or a mattress from The Bay. Their customer service is garbage and can't or won't escalate anything. They just walk away from your purchase. Our mattress has a 10 year warranty. They say there is stains…the stains are no where n the area of concern. They ask for a law tag that was never present when delivered. Then tell you it's your word against theirs. They won't even initiate an inspection to confirm that nothing was there. I asked them to provide me with my original invoice which I asked at the store for and they couldn't provide it. They tell you to go back to the store for the invoice. You pay thousands of dollars for something that doesn't last the duration of the warranty and get washed to the side. Poor customer service, poorly manufactured mattress. Never again will I make any big purchases from any Hudson Bay store or affiliate. Neither will I buy a sealy/Simmons mattress ever again. Just seems as everything these days cost more and are built with low quality materials and no company will stand behind their products nor the vendors selling them. Disgraced by the way companies do business now.

Stay away from big purchases. Warranties don’t apply and they will run from coverage

As a long time Bay customer I was very disappointed to find out that My recent online order was not from the Bay and in fact from a third party seller. Not only did it ship from across the world meaning a large environmental impact for 1 item purchase, it also meant I did not receive the customer service I was used to or expecting. The shipping took nearly a month and when I received the item I was even more disappointed to find that the quality was NOT what was as advertised on the Bay website and was a poor and disappointing quality. The return process has been difficult and disappointing. Not only is it causing MORE environmental damage as the item has to be mailed back and can't be returned to a brick and mortar store front but the cost of shipping the item was absurd and almost nothing worth the return and hassle. I don't think I will ever purchase from the bay.com again as it is not transparent or clear who you are purchasing from and supporting and what customer service you can expect or trust. I am beyond disappointed and will definitely make sure that this is shared among social media's so that other customers are not left in the same unfortunate position as I am. NO Respect for the sellouts that accept third parties. Such a trashy (like:Walmart or amazon) feel and unfortunate change to what was a trust worthy and dependable company once before.

In Oct I ordered from the Bay online. The package was shipped through Intertelcom. It was apparently delivered on Oct 25 but when I arrived home from work (less than a hour later), the package was not there. I alerted customer service that I never received it. They put in a trace investigation with the shipping company and told me they would update me in 7 days. They did not update me. On Nov 16 I contacted the Bay, to inquire about the status. They said the courier had not responded to the investigation, therefore I would be issued a refund. On Nov 28 I still didn't have the refund so I contacted the Bay again, and was told a different story. I was told that because the courier provided a photo of the package sitting outside my building, this was considered "delivered" and the Bay did not have to issue a refund. I told them they had already promised me a refund. They said the refund "request" was denied. I asked if they could send the items again: they told me I would have to re-purchase them. Why is the customer being punished for the loss of items? They would not budge on the refund no matter what I said. I feel like I was mugged and the Hudson Bay stole money from my wallet. I put in a dispute with my VISA card and VISA reversed the payment. I want to warn everyone not to order from the Bay online - it's too risky. And anyone who has had a similar problem: you can dispute the purchase with your credit card company and hopefully enough complaints will pressure the Bay to change their business practices

I recently made an online purchase from The Bay store. They shipped a box to my home with my name and address on the label bit when I opened the box it had someone else's order and invoice. I called up customer service and the lady was very uncaring said to take the box to The Bay near me and I will be credited for my purchase. I took the box to the store and the manager said that this mixup never happens. She said she could not credit me for my purchase at the store because mine was online so she said to call customer service and explain my situation to them. I did that and their investigation just showed that the box was delivered to my door. Then they said they will send me a special label to send the box back to the warehouse but the store manager took the box from me, so I didn't have the box to return and they refused to give me my refund. They shipped my purchase to someone else and they don't want to take any responsibility for their mistake and issue me a refund. I've called customer service 4 times and explained my situation and everytime they say they will have the investigation team issue me a refund but, up to now I have not received it. I can't believe that a big company like The Bay is robbing their loyal customers. This is horrible service!

I was just at their Saskatoon store and spotted a hoodie I wanted to purchase but the one in my size was on a wall display above customer reach. Spent 5 minutes looking for floor staff to get it down from the wall. Finally realized there was no floor staff except for two sales clerks working the centralized cash register station for the entire second floor. Stood in line at the service centre for another 10 minutes before finally reaching the front and asked if the clerk could get it for me. She followed me over to the display stared up at it then pointed to a rack and said there's more here. I replied they were all extra large and I wanted the small up on the wall. She went to get the other clerk and we repeated the process of staring at the item and then being directed back to the rack with the sizes that don't fit me. They both then just walked away from me after saying they'd find someone to help me. I waited another 15 minutes and then left because it was pretty evident no one was coming. I can walk into any store in the mall and get customer service immediately. I can order just about anything online and get it delivered within days so with that kind of service why does The Bay think they will have return customers? The Bay has always had dismal customer service and just seem to be digging themselves deeper in the retail grave with how much worse than subpar it has become.

I bought merchandise because I was promised I will get $50. Over a week passed and did not get a reply from a certain Charlotte. Very sad. I will never buy from The Bay anymore.

Tip for consumers:
Never buy into this rewards points from The Bay. They will encourage you to buy but will be very painful to get the points.

Love Hudson Bay. I don't have any return issues but I take it to the store for a refund. I will have it mailed but I'm close enough to a store. I shop online on their website a lot.

I purchased a Christmas gift through Hudson Bay marketplace last November. The recipient didn't like it so I tried to return it only to be told that I had to contact the 3rd party seller who in turn told me that it was past the 10 day return policy. I had to fight to get them to accept the return. I had to pay more than $60 for the return postage myself. After weeks of back and forth with the seller who wasn't receiving the package they finally accepted the package. I finally received a notice at the beginning of February from the Hudson Bay that I would be receiving my refund. It is over a month now and still nothing. I recently spoke with a customer representative who basically told me that it was my responsibility to get the refund through the 3rd party seller. Thank goodness I bought it through PayPal who assured me that they are investigating this.
I will NEVER EVER buy from Hudson Bay again. They don't stick behind their products and their customer care representatives don't seem to give a darn

I ordered a blender on Saturday and as it is now Friday, I would have expected an email saying it had been shipped to the store for pick-up. Since there was no email, I checked my confirmation email and there was a link to contact them.
Did that and was chatting with a live person. I asked if my order had even been shipped to the store yet. Lady apologized that no email had been sent but that it had been ready since September 13th. She told me the address to go, however that was for a store in Ontario and I live in Vancouver. I mentioned that and was told nothing could be done as my order had been processed. Then I got disconnected.
Went through the whole thing again and was told that it is ready at a different address in Ontario. I again mentioned that I picked my store and had also given my address, and both are in BC. Again was told there was nothing that could be done. I could cancel my order and would receive a refund in 10-14 days, ONCE they get the product back. This new lady said I picked that store, which I didn't. I put in my Postal Code at the beginning of ordering and it pulled up 5 stores in the Lower Mainland. I said I want my refund then. Was then asked if I then wanted to proceed and cancel. I said yes, as I wasn't about to drive 4-6 days to pickup a blender. Was told that I would receive an email confirmation AFTER the product got back from the store and my refund was processed. I asked that I be given a confirmation email now and was hung up on.

They lost a customer permanently.

Even when I selected regular shipping, I was charged the express shipping rate. I wrote to HBC but they did not respond. If you're going to order here, then take screenshots of your order.

My package was delivered by TForce, and at my apartment door without being contacted first to confirm if I was home or not
My package was stolen, TForce won't take responsibility neither is The Bay
Now my package is gone do is my money
I have asked The Bay multiple times never ship by this awful and unreliable shipping company to no avail
No I neither trust The Bay not their TForce delivery
