The Reed Lounge is well worth a visit. It's a super place where you can deal with someone who really knows his stuff and can also play the instruments he sells, and properly play them! You'll be well looked after for all things 'accordion' and it certainly gets the 'thumbs-up' from me.

Murray walked me through all the options and let me try as many instruments as I would like. I felt no pressure to buy and have come away with a lovely instrument. Just gotta learn how to play it now.

Tuning changes on a used Melodeon executed well.
'Online chat' via website not bad but overall impression is of poor or nil response to email and a rather detached approach to things which is not very reassuring.

Service very good. Spoke to very helpful gentleman on 'phone and order processed immediately. If there was a small problem it was with their carrier who took 4 days to deliver an alleged 48 hour service!

I needed a replacement accordion strap set. I contacted The Reed Lounge who discussed the problem, on a return phone call, gave excellent advice and supplied a superb quality product. They followed up by checking receipt and satisfaction. Very impressive and caring for a relatively inexpensive item!

I am very much a novice but Murray was really helpful in my choice of accordion. I was able to try out various ones (there were loads to choose from) and was given loads of time to get well acquainted with one before being given another to try. He was very knowledgeable and explained in words I could understand about the different sorts of tuning and was also very patient despite being subjected to my many badly played renderings of Tartan Ribbons At no time did I feel rushed into making a decision and felt I had had plenty of time to make a leisurely choice with lots of help. I eventually bought my accordion and am really pleased with it. I would definately recommend the Reed Lounge and will visit them again.

The concertina is second hand and in good playable condition. Missing a serial number but looking at Shop label and concertina type could guess it's history turn of 20th Century. To replace one stolen from my Father's garage so very pleased with purchase.

Reed Lounge sold me the type of concertina I wanted for a reasonable price... a rebuilt rosewood Lachenal anglo with steel reeds. It was exactly what I expected, promptly and safely delivered. Altogether a positive experience!

I think this is a seriously good accordion. I love its classy black look; the open grille style; the extra sound scrolls and its red bellows!

It sounds beautiful. Both sides are very quick to respond and the registers give me a lot more to explore than my original Pigini P30 Cherrywood.

I wondered if, as a novice, I would immediately appreciate the bigger more 'grown-up' accordion, but I do.

I bought this during Celtic Connections in Glasgow in January. I greatly enjoyed my experience of buying this from Alan Shute there, and have enjoyed playing it ever since.

From the first few weeks of practicing I know this has been a good purchase and I hope in time to do it justice.

I originally only went with my mum to collect her new accordion! While there I noticed a 120 bass accordion that would have been suitable for my 12 year old son. We arranged to take him up a couple of days later to have a look at it. Murray was really helpful and patient with him while he tried it out. We bought the accordion, and my son is getting on really well with it and loves it (despite his initial apprehension at trading in his other accordion, which he was quite attached to as it had been his first one!)

I have just started learning the English Concertina and was pleased to find this sweet Lachenal on the Reed Lounge web site.
It arrived within 48 hours of ordering and was carefully packed and presented.
It is in immaculate condition and I absolutely love playing it.

Did a good job of finding a good quality large gig bag for my instrument but needed chasing one week on regarding delivery (cost £7.99). Would have been 5* if I had not had to chase.
Seller had the item ready to dispatch at point of order confirmation. Order confirmation received but no dispatch update email until i made an enquiry almost a week later. Item receuved the next day.

It was a great afternoon. I like the idea of an appointment system because it is like being in somebody's lounge in the house as there was just me and the friend I brought with me, and we felt we could spend hours there trying out Accordions. A very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere provided by Murray. Thanks Murray.

Friendly greeting, no pressure to buy, plenty of time to evaluate the Lachenal Duet Concertina. Concertina was in good condition, with new pads, minimal wear on bellows, easy to handle. Just need to learn how to play it!

The online shopping system was very easy to use and my order got processed on the next day. There was some issue with my first order, and Murray was very helpful and provided useful suggestions to resolve the problem. The overall process was very smooth.

After payment was confirmed, my concertina got checked and packed, and passed to the courier in reasonable time. It was well packed and arrived in good shape. The restoration was done perfectly and the sound is so nice that me and my wife fell in love with it immediately.

In an ideal world one would pick up and play an instrument before laying out good money. But this is a Covid world and physical contact is a thing of the past so I had to put my trust in Murray.
In phone calls and emails he was most helpful. He made a recording so that I could hear the difference between the two boxes and make my decision.
It arrived, very well packed and I was delighted.
There is, however, a problem with two buttons - one won't sound on the pull and the other is silent on the push. Fortunately neither are frequently used notes - for me at any rate, I am an absolute novice. I called Murray to report the fault and he said he could fix it easily in minutes.
I'm sure he can. When able to, I intend to drive the 200 miles or so to meet Murray. Hopefully I'll be able to watch him do the fix. And I look forward to shaking his hand. I love my Lachenal. Thank you Murray.

Bought a couple of boxes from Murray at Shrewsbury FF. Deal done, a couple of reeds tweaked and all sorted with cases and straps in a few hours on a festival site. Excellent service and I would definitely use The Reed Lounge again.

Was made to feel very welcome, was given all the detail I needed to make an informed purchase. Was impressed with the studio and it's layout, I found Murray to be a great guy, easy to talk to and very informative.

I went to buy a piano accordian for my son. I had no previous idea of what to buy. The owner was extremely knowledgeable and explained all my options very clearly and patiently. No hard sell. The service was excellent would buy from there again.

Just received a gorgeous Maugein acordion from Murray, excellent condition, beyond my expectations for a small model...
I was quite nervous buying over the Internet with what to me was a large sum of money but Murray never bullied me or used hard sell tactics, he put my nerves re couriers, complaints at rest with his totally professional yet friendly manner and witjin days i am thrilled to be playing such a lovely box, playability and sound perfectly as described... Bough a Lachenal concertina, I receive it quickly and the package was huge for a concertina! Because it was very (very very) well protected! Instrument was in great condition as mentioned in the description. I am very happy with it.
Review lost a little star because I didnt have answer to all my question/mail before buyingprobably due to opening hours:-) And I was impatient. Buying an instrument (I can say expensive) is not easy without trying/seeing it so it is important to reassure buyer;-)
