I received 3 items - a hinoki and 2 cherry laurels. They look great and arrived hydrated. However the leaves of both cherry laurels are riddled with round holes from insect damage. That was disappointing.
The Tree Center US Rated 1 out of 5 stars Purchased 3 trees and received them… Purchased 3 trees and received them infested with bugs. Called and emailed. I did everything they asked me to do and they refused to help. Turned them into the Better Business bureau and the case was closed as Unresolved because they do NOT HONOR THEIR WARRENTY. Stay away from them.
Plants arrived in a timely manner and were boxed well. The 5 gallon ones were a nice size and full. The one gallon was small. It is better to spend the extra money for the larger size. The bad news is that all 3 have leaf shot fungus. I am hoping they all survive. We'll see. Trimmed the majority of the diseased leaves off which of course made the plants shorter and way less full.
Beware of buying from this company! The pictures of trees they have on line are very deceiving. My tree arrived in a pot with loose dirt instead of a bag as promised in the description. The tree was so small that you could not plant in the down. I paid $126.00 for this tree that was worth about $25.00. Don't fall for their pictures or descriptions of trees and plants. You will disappointed. I issued a complaint with them and they never contacted me. Do not waste your money buying from this money..
Two trees within a couple of days of placing order. Thought trees looked fine for being shipped. It's been 2 weeks, still holding a few green leaves. Now October so trees are dropping leaves. Utilized planting instructions, so looking for a good spring.
They arrived well-packaged, with instructions, and I haven't managed to kill any of them yet. My track record with trees and shrubs is pretty spotty, so I'm not really qualified to tell a good one from a bad one. (Only three of the eight trees from last fall, bought from a local orchard, made it through the winter.) But the process was really smooth, the instructions on the site and with the packaging were really helpful, and I'm hoping for the best.
Ordered the trees on a Sunday and they were scheduled to be delivered a week from Monday but they actually showed up on the previous Friday which was a pleasant surprise. I planted them that evening and it looks like they should work out well.
Orderd 2- #7 spartan junipers, was told by customer service they were 5-6 feet tall. FedEx was not helpful, they moved the bushes three times in the Denver area before delivering. The painfully spindly bushes that arrived are clearly end of season stock when compared with a less expensive identical bush grown by Monrovia that I purchased from a local big box store. One of the two was staked (unable to stand up on its own), the top 6" sprig broken off by the stake. Customer service agreed to replace them BUT would not/could not assure they would ship a more mature product and could not tell me when they would get more. Guess which two came from the The TreeCenter?
Trees were undersized. I ordered a number of trees. One variety was a 5 gal container (Ginkgo). It arrived as a 45" hgt tree, apparently The Tree Center Staff felt that since no expected height thresholds are specified on their website that there is no concern. Was not eligible for credit or return. The tree died 90 days later. I also bought Birch trees. The central leader of the trees were cut to fit in the shipping box. This stunted the growth and will lead to life-long form issues. Obvious reasons why not to buy on-line trees. Your local box store is a much better choice... even better would be your local nursery.
Tip for consumers:
Prices may appear okay on-line until you get the trees delivered to your site.
My Hollywood Juniper arrived well packaged and was ready for planting. "Junie B" appears healthy so we'll see how the next 30-days go!
One concern about the top of the tree bending, due to the packaging I'm sure, but how long before that resolves itself? Otherwise, very, very pleased... I would highly recommend the Tree Center. I will be back for an American Red Maple... stand by!
Received my trees healthy even when FedEx lost them then wouldn't deliver them. I was so worried they'd be dead or close to it but no. They were still healthy after a week and a half tracking them down. So great packaging for this company! All trees are thriving (my pink lady apple tree might have an issue with red spots but we're taking care of it). I ordered from them again so that's the best reason to try them.
I got my Black Diamond Crepe Myrtle this past Sunday. It was delayed due to the holiday. He is doing well between my watering and the rain. I named him Blaze as he is the crimson flowering one. I am waiting on my stake kit to arrive. He is doing well. Will definitely purchase from the tree center again. I think i want a couple more for the backyard.
We ordered (2) 3 Gallon Miss Kim Lilac Bushes from the Tree Center. They arrived well packaged and in excellent condition. In only three weeks time they each sent out new healthy shoots. Have never had a plant ordered online & shipped arrive in such excellent condition (fabulous specimens). We couldn't be more pleased. Ken & Sherry (Santa Fe, New Mexico)
I agree with the comment about finding better quality at the local nursery. I decided to try this online service instead of the local nursery, thinking that I'd get bigger, well-established specimens for the price. The four 5 gallon rhododendrons (Nova Zembla) I received are much smaller, pruned extensively so that there's not much to show as a statement. They look kind of tired, worn out, and not flourishing. They will grow, of course, but it was a shock to get the four narrow, small plants stuffed into boxes. Not worth the $260. I won't order again.
The customer service, however, was helpful.
First let me say the packing and shipping was A1 quality. However what was in the boxes, four Grape Crape Myrtle was pure junk. They were in #3 containers and had three to five stems about 12-15" tall. Being in the nursery/landscape business for over fifty years, we destroyed plants of better quality. The price was totally outrageous for plants we received. We will never again order from this company and show pictures of the plants to all of my many nursery Friends throughout the country. I thought my husband was going to kill me. He loved his early Christmas presents. As I was sweating this big purchase. The trees, cedars, pines, and spruces are big and healthy. I have a happy and shocked husband. I did great! Very well packaged. Not just bare roots, actual pots with dirt! Will be ordering again. This is amazing!
Received the trees I ordered in Feb., healthy and are growing well. It was welcome arrival, as it gave me outside activity during a time they were trying to make seniors stay in the house. Instead I bonded with the trees and fresh air.
The lilacs were healthy and packaged with care and bloomed beautifully within a month. First time I had the pleasure of seeing and smelling lilacs in almost 50 years! I highly recommend The Tree Center!
Our purchase arrived quick but our three larger plants were drastically smaller than pictured and our small plants were covered in weeds. I would not recommend to use this company. I will certainly not be.
I loved shopping on this website! It was so enjoyable to see such a variety. I was looking for a particular evergreen to match what was already in the yard. The plants came protected and healthy. I decided to also order a rhododendron, and they sent a package of root stimulator to help in the transplanting process. I know I will order again next year to add to my line of evergreens. I highly recommend!
I ordered a pyracantha from tatter Center. Which was well into the process of dying upon its arrival. I planted it as directed, watered it according to directions, as well. It was dead within a week. I turned in a request for a new plant and told I did not but insurance so they couldn't help me. Note this was within 15 days of purchase. $100 down the drain. I'll never buy or recommend Tree Center. I've bought from them in the past and pay a premium, but this is so disappointing.
Tip for consumers:
They wouldn’t send quality product

All shrubs came on time and in tact. Unfortunately, the Hydrangea plant was semi eaten by deer when left out for the night even though I selected it because it was supposedly deer resistant. I planted it anyway with a fence around it and hope it will bounce back.
This is the first time I have ordered from The Tree Center, but I will definitely order again. The order process itself was very easy. The trees I ordered came quickly. The way the trees were packaged and shipped was top notch, don't think I've ever seen better! The trees themselves were beautiful and healthy looking. Prices were also reasonable - I ordered 3 Norway Spruce and got them cheaper than just one would've cost me here locally. Thank you Tree Center!
Disappointing not what I thought by the description. #5 bucket and they were smaller then our local Costco. I paid I think $60-$70 and our local Costco had them for $16.99 and would take them back if anything went wrong.
This team has great customer service, a good selection, and the tree I got was very healthy and beautiful. However, I ordered a 5 gallon and when it arrived it was a 2.5/3 gallon and smaller than I expected for the largest option they offered. Plus, there is a decent price difference between those sizes. Hoping it was a simple labeling error and not intentional.
Got them in good condition in the package. Planted them like 2 days later that was about 2 weeks ago. They are doing good still fingers crossed. I do recommend them better than homedepot or something.
I have ordered trees and shrubs several times now from The Tree Center, with mixed results from quality of product—from excellent to mediocre (I wouldn't have chosen the particular item if I were shopping in person; would have chosen a better one or gone without)—and results of shipping (from excellent to several broken branches). Also, $$ spent to get free shipping has gone up a whopping 50! Don't need the new fancy enclosures introduced in 2020; the less expensive ones were just fine!
