I've been a customer of three for more than 10 years and though I keep getting offers from competitors, no one can match Three for quality customer care, they also have some very competitive rates, coverage and offers
Following the death of my partner it has taken more than six months to close his accounts. Despite going into store, online chat and multiple phone calls during this time. I got lots of "platitudes", lots of "its dealt with" but still the bills come. I have refused and will continue to refuse to close my complaint now, even though they really pressure you to. I am assuming that the ombudsman has no recourse if you accept the complaint is dealt with.
The worst network experience in my life.

I just called Three (31 August 2023) and I called regarding to cancel my contract and waited for 1 hour only for the employee to put me on hold. I had spoken to 5 different colleagues and they all said my contracts ends on 8th September 2023 and I had a overdue amount left to pay and the colleagues said that inorder to cancel my contract I need to pay the overdue amount first, after paying the amount i spoke to the next colleague which then he said my contract ends 12th December 2024 and said I have to pay £200+ inoder to cancel my contract. After the untrained staff who didn't know how to speak to customer clearly and have no manners, said "it was probably a glitch in the system" I asked to speak with a manger to which they said he is busy at the moment and I should hold. After being on hold for 10 minutes, the person comes back and says I just spoke with my manager and he told me the same thing. So I asked I still want to speak with the manager. He said to wait again and waited for another 5 minutes for them to just hang up after wasting 1 hour 30 minutes of my life. I would never again recommend this to anyone nor will I ever come back here ever again. 0 stars is too low for the way I got treated today by the very untrained staff and not professional at all. I would like this matter to be checked out thoroughly as the calls get recorded for monitoring and training purposes. I had called with the following number

One, two, THREE but I'll give it FIVE!
I write this review on behalf of all those, "not so young" phone users, who want a "pay-as-you-go" service but without that "pay-through-the-nose" call cost.
I recently got a new smartphone, yes I can use a smartphone, even at my great age of 58. I tend to use mobile phones for "emergencies" (the last time i topped up my old mobile was 2008) and the landline for the rest. My old mobile charged 30pence a minute and average signal coverage. I changed to three and now get 3pence per minute+good signal coverage+150mb of data free each time I top up. I have used the phone more in the last month, than I did in the last two years.
Three was easy to set up, a good signal coverage (and I live in the wilds of Cumbria), had a free sim and a call rate a lot cheaper than even a landline. If you are looking for a call provider and don't want to get ripped off on pay as you go, then give three a go.
Update 23/05/2016 I have been with 3three for about eighteen months and am still 100% happy with them. A good signal, very cheap calls, texts and data. An easy to use website, which makes topping up a breeze. Yes, I still say if you want cheap easy pay as you go, then give 3three a go.

If you want pay as you go and have an unlocked phone, than get a free Three sim.
Poor service. Interested only in money. Leave you in a hard time. I would recommende vodafone or o2 instead.

I have had better experiences with my Telco products in Pakistan than with 3 UK. Absolutely awful service.
They said they will change the unlimited £20 to the same unlimited to £6 because she has been a customer for 10+years but turns out it was a 4GB data plan lol
And for half the month she was on unlimted the other half she was on 4GB data plan even though she paid £20
Customer support are scamming thieves, slow, takes hours to make a small change, bad signal, ironically there were no signal outside their three local store with the three simcard LOL, absolutely waste of life do not use them

What a complete shock! Having left my previous Broadband provider I settled on Three ( wish I hadn't)!
Before signing up I'd asked ( condition of signing up with Three that the " Cooling off period starts when my current deal/provider ended " NOT A PROBLEM SIR, LETS SIGN YOU UP THEY SAID...
Had to stay home two different days as the promised WiFi Hub never arrived, more money out of my pocket as I couldn't work from home and had to take those days off to wait for it to arrive! Old contract ended, plugged the Three hub in and NOTHING, they asked for me to move it round the house, which I did but again NOTHING...
Contacted Three to explain the issue, each time having to wait 40-60 on the phone ( I called them 19 times for the same issue by the time I left them) passed from Piller to post PATHETIC!
They finally agreed to cancel my contract, but said that because I'd over-run my " Cooling of period " I was getting stuck with a bill off £400... REMEMBER, THE AGREEMENT WAS MY COOLING OF PERIOD STARTS WHEN THE OLD FINISHES... Each time ( out of the 19 times I called them) I had to remind that new person I was speaking with about the whole situation!
Please avoid, absolutely NOT worth the pain and drama...
Terrible customer service. Will be looking for another company. Need to remember how important it is to service the community.

I Want to cancel a contract which rolls over to standard rates at the end of the month, because I have mislaid the MIFI unit that the card is in...
Recently Three have deleted my accounts and will only let me re establish one account, because I only have one email address.
So. I Have a contract for a Number that I Have never dialled, lost in a mifi unit that I cannot recover the card from,
There is no email address because three have closed my user access, and they can't send an sms message to the card for me.
They will not accept any of the eleven items of identification. They want an ex driver to fraudulently apply for a driving license or buy a passport, and create a new email address, rather than create a new sim, which they could do in minutes, so that their system can send me a 4 digit passcode to identify me.
Even though the person in the shop has personally dealt with me before, and has identified me on my three telephone number
Three can see the account on their system, it has my name and address, and my bank direct debit but they don't believe that I am me...
Basically I AM SCREWED

Three is a scam company. I will never be recommending you to anybody and I wish I'd never joined. I've not been able to properly use my iPhone and receive calls and texts that aren't through iMessage for over a month now because my old mobile number with Vodafone that I wanted to keep was not successfully switched over to my new Three SIM card. It turns out that Three made the mistake of switching over my old mobile number to my new Three broadband SIM card instead. I've just received a new SIM card today - after the previous SIM card never showed up - and guess what?! It doesn't work! The old mobile number still isn't showing up in my phone. I've tried turning iMessage on and off, turning my phone on and off, resetting my network settings, etc. and *nothing* is working. I can't enter the old mobile number that I wanted to keep into my phone, either, because it isn't receiving texts that aren't through iMessage, let alone no calls. Three has royally screwed up.
The live chat agents all suck and recommend me to do the same exact thing over and over again when I said I already have tried that procedure multiple times. They then try to push that exact procedure on me and never solve the issue.
What could have been a very easy fix has now turned into a huge pile of problems.
I'm past my wit's end and quite frankly, I don't see an end in sight to this issue which clearly is not on my end.
I sent in a complaint about 3 weeks ago and have yet to hear back. Three of course says they aim to reply within 14 days but I know by now that that's a joke. Going to have to go to the Ombudsman if this is unresolved after 8 weeks. You have another month to get your act together, Three.
Lack of commitment and follow through. Not trustworthy. Will not stay true to their word and prior agreements.
Wish I could put no stars for this rating. The company is not valid. The terms are not secure. Not a company to trust.
