I actually had to email them because they had not sent any tracking information 4 days after ordering. I figured well it's the 19th of December so you know, Christmas. I got an email response in 3 minutes. WOW that's great!(I thought) Now the book is just hanging around. From what I can tell I think these books aren't shipped from USA(am I wrong?) It says OSM Worldwide on tracking info. So it's the 29th of December(Yes I know Christmas)but I would think after 10 days it would get somewhat close or even to it's destination. So yeah, stick with Amazon.

Guys, I received a book I never ordered - I had booked; 'Dirty Picture' and I received a cheap book called "Safe Harbor". It doesnt looks like honest mistake at all. They asked to ship it back and then ask for a balance of refund? Total rip-off... This is a fraud practice by theftbooks. Not gonna call it thriftbooks

Took over 2 weeks for my packages never to arrive. Thrift books is incapable of consistently and quickly take more than five items only 3 out of 10 books were delivered,
Are you kidding me.

Please, do not be like me and buy only new books. I just got my package and it's disgusting: awful appears, unknown dust, and other muddy things in a book that is literally ripped.

Sorry that others had a bad time, & their complaints are legit. I only made one order (2 books re Einstein), arrived in perfect shape, for a fraction of retail cost.

I've ordered 2 books well over a month ago. They still haven't arrived. The one star is for Ryan from customers service who although was clearly lost, was really polite.

... you want to gamble whether you will get readable copies of books.

Worst experience ever! Bought two books, both with major problems.

Book 1 - I purchased the hardcover in what they described in "Good condition". Book was: 1) Missing dust cover 2) had a broken spine 3) had coffee stains everywhere and 4) had torn pages!

Book 2 (this one is unbelievable) - yet another monumental mishap on their part. I bought the "All The Right Stuff" book for my daughter, who is starting a new school in 2 weeks, and had to make annotations in the book, etc. Well, now she reached the end, after done countless annotations on the book (per requested by her prep school) and guess what? The book was missing the last several pages! It abruptly ends on page 182, the last words being "Some college guy had gotten his nose broken and two teeth out in the flight, and they..." and that is it!

Don't even bother calling their customer support. They were rude to me and said all they could do was find me a new book, but I had not time for that! So b/c my daughter was so tight with her deadline I had to order NEXT day from Amazon and pay $119 for Prime + full price on the paperback book, spending over $130.

What kind of service can these guys possibly be running? This is my second complaint within a month. And here I thought I had found a gem, a great place to buy used books.

In general they are OK. However, I get emails from them with prices like $4.99 for a specific book but when I click on a book the REAL price is MUCH MORE. E.g.

Is $4,19 in the email, but is actually $15.20 on the order page.

Their explanation is that prices are dynamic and determined by the market. May be true, but I can't see a book changing by 3X in a few minutes. Also, in a couple of days I will get the ad for the same book at the low price and again the order price is 3X.

I have nothing to complain. Low priced good condition books. Delivered as scheduled. What more can you expect for paying so less. Recommend people to buy from thrift books.

I ordered Let's Eat Right To Keep Fit by Adelle Davis on May 3rd I wanted to return it and gave the order number ******* which they said was wrong. I checked my email confirmation number and guess what I was right. I ordered a second copy of Let's Eat Right To Keep Fit by Adelle Davis and never received it. I don't trust them. The first book was not as described it was not as described it is damaged. So now I'm stuck with a book that is damaged and for the cost of the book that I never received. All to make a lousy buck.

I ordered books from the website and received emails stating my books would arrived the next day bulls**t still waiting I should have bought them from another location what a waste of time

I'm a regular customer buying books from this company has been a hit or miss. I purchased a Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren and the book came in the condition as described. But I just received my package today it was Dianetics by L Ron Hubbard the book was not in the condition that was described as good this book actually is in poor condition I'm going to definitely have to just get a new copy from the Church of Scientology website.

Years ago I purchased a book about Walter Payton that came with a DVD. Over the years I misplaced the DVD but saw the exact book on Thriftbooks that says it included the DVD. I immediately went to the book description that said the book was in very good condition and included the DVD.
I ordered the book solely to get the DVD but… you guessed it. No DVD. Only the empty DVD sleeve.
This was TOTAL misrepresentation.
Don't believe their descriptions. I totally wasted my money.

I have order from the website countless times... I received my two books i ordered... God debris and dianetics... Both in perfect condition, however there ia a $#*!ing band-aide on my book cover... OUTS DIRTY AND USED... and considering everything going on... THIS WAS $#*!ED UP. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN. BUT AT THE END OF IT ALL, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR I GUESS

When I asked for assistance I was told they could not assist because it was 30 days after the order. Worst possible answer and they did not return my money. Very poor service.

Great selections at great prices we ordered a ton of books and they were quickly delivered even with the mail issues. We will be ordering more, thanks!

I have been purchasing from Thrift Books for many years as a very satisfied customer. I purchased several books this year and noticed that the quality standards have changed. I never worried whether my book would be marred in any way; however, I do now. I used to receive almost pristine copies in the very good and good status. Currently, both statuses have declined. The last books purchased were for others, and the recipient(s) were not totally pleased. The very good copy had a tear in the jacket cover, the book was not protectively wrapped like it has been before. Moreover, when I attempted to contact Customer Service, I received adequate service, whereas before, it was outstanding. The representatives used to be very friendly, helpful, and go over and above to service me. Perhaps my standards are too high, but now, it is difficult to actually speak to a person, and the stated definition of the quality standards on the books did not match. When I mentioned it to the Customer Service Representative, the person was curt; basically telling me that Huge writing/inscriptions on the cover page is part of Very Good versus Good, as stated in the description.
Emailing Customer Support takes several days to receive a reply. Email is an automatic default.
I am sadly disappointed in the decline. I hope that it is temporary. I miss the high standards that Thrift Books used to have, and the quality of the customer service that they once valued.
Great prices in general. Some items seem pricier, which is fine if the quality was not an issue.

I looked for all of these books everywhere and they were so cheap too! I was so excited for all of the new books and they came within 2 weeks, which I honestly wasn't expected. The books are obviously used, but I am completely fine with that as long as the books are legible. All 7 of my books arrived at the same time and all in one piece, in better condition that I imagined. I AM SO SATISFIED!

I bought 3 books in the beginning of june, and it seemed to be lost in transit, so i reached out to them asking if my order could be resent. I really wanted my books so a refund was not my first choice. They came back saying none of the books were in stock anymore and they said I would get a FULL refund. I had ordered 3 books, my total was $18.11. When I got the refund it said they only refunded me $10.15. Its just 8 dollars no biggie, but I wanted to know WHY at least. So I reached out again. They tell me they only refunded me for the item I didn't receive. Now I bought all the books as one order and received ONE tracking number. The package never reached me it was lost, so tell me why they think I received my other two books and i'm just missing one. So I reach out AGAIN, explaining their reasoning would make sense if i at least got the other 2 books but I didn't get any of my books. Then they said they would issue another refund for the rest of the items, but when the refund came in it was only 3.98 (the price of one of the books I was missing.) They said they would give me a full refund so i was expecting my full 18.11 back, so you can see im upset when i only got 14 bucks back total.

I received 4 books all listed excellent and very good condition. One book the outside cover was torn pretty bad and a second book had food or a drink spilt on the front cover.

I ordered and paid for a HARDCOVER VERSION. They sent me a softcover version. I spent time documenting their mistake via their email form and with their chat function. They apologized and promised to send me the correct version. I just received another identical SOFTCOVER version of the book!?! I've spent a lot of time as a result of their mistake. This is a great place to order college textbooks. They are much cheaper than the bookstore, and the customer service at Thrift Books is excellent! I highly recommend using this site for any books.

Thriftbooks.com is perfect every time! I order all the times and so do many of my friends. Excellent selection and service. You will not be dissapointed!
