I enrolled in auto refill because of a discount offer of $5.00 per month. After signing up, I did not receive the discount. I added my credit card information and the offer "magically" disappeared. I called customer service and no less than 3 people hung up on me when I tried to get the issue resolved. Now, I am trying to get a refund for my entire service and disconnect my service. Please be careful with this company. They are extremely unprofessional. UPDATE: The problem has been solved. I was given what was previously promised and 2 months free service for the inconveniences. All is well. Thank you!

The sim card went bad (finally determined after 2 calls, first one said they would call back in one hour which never happened), order new one from questionable language person that wanted me to spell Pennsylvania. The address I gave did not match the one they came up with. Turns out on this instance that can not be changed. After repeated calls with different wrong answers, item was sent back to be reshipped again. Still waiting for anything, (More calls) tracking number or info. Last call sain they could not connect me to a supervisor and cannot give any address information out.

Call repeatedly, always get different information if you can stand the loss time.
Customer service is designed to waste your time by escalating your complaint from one team to another for an hour, and then disconning your call or claiming that they can't help because they can't "verify" your account. Best move is that I dumped them and switched to Red Pocket.
This is a bad company that gives exceptionally bad service. Call them and you will be on hold for an hour. When you get ahold of them, you will talk to someone who doesn't speak good English. They also were very deceptive about the switch from 3G to 4G phones.
Greetings. I tried to activate a cell phone that had been on the Trackphone service. Even though there are no account issues or debt owed on the phone, I was told the phone was locked and it would cost anywhere from $28.00 to $145.00 + tax to unlock the phone after maintaining continuous service for one year? There does not seem to be anything in writting that supports this policy.
I believe this is in direct violation of Federal Communications Commission (FCC) guidelines. Tracfone apparently does not care and gets away with it! Avoid this company at all cost!

I love my elderly father & I'm glad I got him a Tracfone. He did not want a cell phone. Nor did he feel a need for one, but I bought him an inexpensive reconditioned Tracfone at tracfone.com. Shipping was free and it came with a 60 minute card and I bought an additional 60 minute card. A small investment to test if he would take to a cell phone.
He took to it like a duck to water. He never imagined how much he would use it or how much easier it made his life. It's been about 8 years now and he wants an upgrade. No problem. I already ordered and received a new one in anticipation of fathers day.
They have no family plan. They don't privde a way to redeem points (so points are useless unless you buy more lousy service). Their prices are no longer competitive. Further, their customer service doesn't care. You can ask about this and they'll argue with you. Terrible company.
Talked to four different customer service people and still can't get into my account! They seem to push you over to another customer service person, and go through it over and over and no results, so she says for the system to make the new changes you have to wait 24 hours,if you still can't log in give us a callback, well it's past 24 hours and still can't log into my account! Going with another phone carrier because it's not worth the stress they give you!

Been a Tracfone customer for 20+ years. Bought an unlocked phone and transferred per tracfone instructions, able to make calls and text. Thought everything was working great then realized data had not transferred. Bought new Sim's card per tracfone request. New SIM card kept saying invalid. Worked over 20 hours with multiple disconnects to get new phone working. Two days later my plan was zeroed out, no network. Told me to buy another plan, had bank statement proving had bought year plan in February. Still can't get new phone to work and been cut off yet again, no actual store to help with problems. Tracfone as far as connectivity has been awesome. Right now I have a beautiful non working phone and no landline. To get to a actual person is a nightmare. Been bought out by Verizon, don't know if that's making it worse. Verizon store said they couldn't help.

About two months ago, I chatted or called a total of no less than eight people. I went away with my phone still unable to receive or make calls. (Texts were still fine.) Two days later, my phone miraculously resumed normal operation.
Two weeks ago, I was able to make a call and receive calls.
Now I cannot. I called today. I talked to a total of four people. The final person said in a very deadpan--"I have no clue" voice--it is a phone issue. You need a new phone. Sheesh.

I have been with trac for 20 years. My husband phone took a $#*! on November 1 2023 was told to send it back and they would replace it. So I did they received the phone one 11/05. I have calling every day and no one still has a tracking number for my phone. Been told no ticket numbers and I gave them 2 different numbers. Been told they done have any phones in the warehouse. Been hung up on 4 times. I feel like this is they are just staling,

Tracfone can not resolve problems with phones and customers. Tracfone customer service is in the Philippines and it is difficult to understand and hear their agents. Agents work from a script and can not do anything beyond their script.
Continuing problems can not be solved at their customer service level. Calling their headquarters in Flordia is not options since they connect you to their resolution team.
I finally filed a complaint with the FCC that seems to have gotten some action but still unresolved issues. I have been contact by more than 64 people from Tracfone to correct the problem and each person refers the issue to a higher level. This has NOT solve the problem.
The upside is once the FCC gets involved Tracfone must reply and take care of the problem or the FCC steps in on the consumer behalf and gets the problem cared for.
My suggest is one call to Tracfone and then file an FCC complaint.
We bought a Tracfone and signed up for auto-refill. After the second month of service, the phone will no longer send or receive calls. Really? A phone that can't take calls?! Garbage, and a complete waste of money!

I've been on the phone since 8:00 am trying to set up my dad's new phone. I've been thru the whole try this and try that routine 5-7 times by now. Everytime they say they'll send me to someone higher the call drops before a person can answer. After that I've left my phone number for them to call me back. They did. Call dropped on the 2nd ring. My cell has almost all bars so not my carriers problem. It is now almost 6 hours trying to get my dad's phone to work because it won't connect to the network. I'm waiting on a phone call back from them.

When you buy the $15 card, it says 500 text, but doesn't say that you paided for 500 text & will also be charged for each text. One day I had 95 minutes that morning, sent several text & had one short phone call, checked my time that evening & only had 5 minutes. They charge for checking your voicemail & everything. That is what I was told by Tracfone rep when I contacted them. Was with Virgin Mobile for years & going back when my 750 minutes are up, in a few days the way Tracfone charges. Best advice, if you don't have a ton of money, stay away from Tracfone!
As the title says. You can get in touch with an actual person quickly. Every time I've needed customer service they've solved my problem quick.
Good service provider for cheap phones and plans. The cheapest option is to buy the $125 for a year of airtime and use auto-refill and just buy data addons as you need them. I did the math and for me even with the addons I was paying the equivalent $20-25 a month that way. DO NOT byop though; they discontinue service for your phone after a while (for me it was about year) as a business strategy to make you buy one of their phones.
I bought a phone from Tracfone's website. When I received the device, I followed their instructions. Upon waiting overnight, the phone was not activated. I called and was put on hold for an hour. Then when someone answered, I got transferred where I waited another hour just to be hung up on. I called again and held for another two hours when the next person answered the phone, He couldn't get the phone activated and had to transfer me to another department. Another hour of holding on the phone and decided I'm just going to return the phone. A couple weeks after, I had to call them to get the status of my refund and after being on hold again they told me it takes 30 days to get my money back. 30 days. They should be giving people interest for holding money for so long since they probably make money off of holding onto other people's money.

Can't validate my account because I have no service and there trying to send text they don't understand you can't receive a text with no service. Go with an American company. One that respects you and will know that the importance of a business is customer satisfaction. I haven't had. A phone for 10 days

You will be unable to access if you happen to be out of the country when the renewal date comes up. I attempted to renew my "plan" but of course the phone would not work so I used their chat service which was totally useless and a waste of time. I phoned them on a land line and used their callback service (they never called back) and I as well tried to renew via their webpage but was unable as my "plan" was not accessible there. I had got the service originally for emergencies but thankfully never needed to use except on rare occasions but renewed each year and ended up with close to 10,000 minutes, right thousand, but because of the above problems in reaching Tracfone lost them all. I would not recommend and will not continue to deal with them. There are other options less expensive and I hope have a better customer service. BTW The first phone I got from them caught on fire and was destroyed plus damaged my desk.

Absolutely terrible experience. I was trying to switch providers from this one to another one and they made it extremely impossible to do so. I had to call my previous provider to unlock my phone to use my new provider but the customer service worker was so disrespectful on the phone and tried to undermine my intelligence saying that I was incorrect and I was asking something extremely outlandish.
