The tips you gave me worked like a charm. Chase is actually a Labradoodle. 4 months, extremely intelligent, born and raised in a barn until I got him. He only had one accident in the house and was completely housebroken in 2 days. His buddy is a Maltese he loves to hump, and Charlie snaps at him every time and growls. I was told it's a status thing on who's dominant. Your tips worked great. Thank you so very much.
I would first like to thank you for the emails. I greatly appreciate them! Your approaches have helped me with King already. When he's jumping and I simply ignore his behavior, as you said, he stops within a very short amount of time. Also, praising him with just simply saying good has worked great. I'm not sure if that has worked or made a difference for anyone else but it truly did for me. Thank you for free tips and advice. I'd not be fortunate enough to have something like this otherwise.
My husband and I are going to adopt a wire haired Jack Russell from a shelter.
Very informative emails.
Thank you Nancy!
Very helpful. Great ideas. We will definitely think about what we discussed and figure out how to put these things into practice.
Skittish newly adopted dog from a puppy mill - how to get her to potty
This was my 6th call with one of the trainers and every time I get good advice I can start right away!
How to walk the dog more easily was the biggest thing.
Yes I would.
Our dog was biting my husband constantly. Sally was very helpful. We are using her tips, and she is slowing getting better.
Biting - teaching "no bite" and using a time out and training her to chew alone or to go to her bed
This was so helpful. We are tired of training but know we have to get certain commands working well with our puppy.
She doesn't move when we put a harness on her
Helped us understand our puppy and how to interact with her. Very positive experience.
Using kibble and high value treats to work on 'leave it'. For a fetch game it's ok to ignore and walk away when they don't drop it, but to use the throw as a reward when they do.
Yes, awesome!
Drop it and leave it advice and sitting to do recall
It is helpful and they should try it.
This was really helpful. Unfortunately, I was driving, but Sally said she would send an email with the instructions we discussed.
One of my 12 dogs attacks one of the others. Sally taught me to teach him "leave it."
The daily emails are a huge help. My new lab puppy is already better behaved and it's only been a week.
My experience has been incredible. The whole house is more calm, all are eating sleeping, and using the rest room better.
Very good ideas. This dog is a real challenge so I appreciate all the ideas Thomas and Sally have given me.
Getting the dog's mental stimulation so he's less overexcited was the biggest thing.
Sure, it's been useful.
One of the most enjoyable conversations we've ever had! Sally was delightful! She had great ideas for our highly unusual situations.
Getting two dogs to pull a sled together without the younger one jumping on the older one. Also the older dog who is afraid of so many things.
The tips sent daily are easy to understand and implement. They are helping me be a better first time puppy owner!
I feel encouraged if Sally had a bad day with her puppy. She thinks mine is making good progress and I just need to hang in and be consistent.
Potty training took a huge step backwards with the new roof being put on and my dog not being able to go out.
It was great to talk to the same trainer I had talked to last week.
Update on my dog's housetraining and getting new ideas; Leave it; help with heel and sit
We talked about using a time out, how to potty train, and teaching my dog to leave it.
I feel like we need to change the way we are potty training, but Sally gave me hope that this puppy can be completely potty trained in 4-6 weeks.
Potty training

I feel much better, but my husband is thoroughly disgusted to think we have to watch the dog every minute
One of our two male dogs is marking so Sally said we have to put him on a leash when he is out of the sun room and one of us has to be on the other end of the leash
So happy to know how to break my border collie of jumping on people and will start the training tomorrow.
We just talked about ways to train during walks and hikes and keeping her on the leash in the house sometimes to get her better focused.
I really appreciate the time of talking to Sally and bouncing ideas and having her give me new suggestions.

How to stop nipping and how to get dog to come.

I really found the personal call from a trainer to be very helpful and was pleased I could ask more questions and get good clarification.
Play biting was my original problem, but we also talked about housetraining
We found this call to be very helpful. It was great to talk with Sally and have her tell us exactly what to focus on right now.
Jumping on us - we need to have him on a leash and pull him down and say "floor"
I am relieved to know that my puppy is normal and to talk about other "normal" behaviors with someone.
