The tips you gave me worked like a charm. Chase is actually a Labradoodle. 4 months, extremely intelligent, born and raised in a barn until I got him. He only had one accident in the house and was completely housebroken in 2 days. His buddy is a Maltese he loves to hump, and Charlie snaps at him every time and growls. I was told it's a status thing on who's dominant. Your tips worked great. Thank you so very much.
I would first like to thank you for the emails. I greatly appreciate them! Your approaches have helped me with King already. When he's jumping and I simply ignore his behavior, as you said, he stops within a very short amount of time. Also, praising him with just simply saying good has worked great. I'm not sure if that has worked or made a difference for anyone else but it truly did for me. Thank you for free tips and advice. I'd not be fortunate enough to have something like this otherwise.
What a fun call! I am getting my new puppy tomorrow and couldn't be more excited! Sally went through a checklist of what equipment I should have and what I should do the first few weeks and I am ready!
Getting ready for my puppy
I got lots of good information and tips from Sally during our call.
Housetraining, getting her to quit biting us
This was super helpful and encouraging - so glad I was able to get the call.
Biting and nipping
I appreciate the ideas Sally gave me and the things to try and people to talk to are more than I have had.
My dog has an enormous amount of fear of noise and of anything grooming-related and can only be groomed when under anesthetic at a cost of $400+ several times a year. He is not himself for 3-4 days afterwards. Sally realized that it is a hearing issue and then I told her about all his ear infections and the more we talked, the more I realized that she has to be right and I need to tell this new vet and groomer what we discussed and see if they can come up with a different solution.
Oh, my, this was so very helpful. And I really appreciate that Sally sent the directions for all the things we talked about to me by email so I can share them with my wife and help her understand how important it is for both of us to do the same thing with the dog.
Constant mouthing and jumping on my wife's legs
This was a great call with lots of good information and answers to all my questions.
Suddenly developed fears he hadn't had before esp to loud noises, jumping on people, constantly licking
Emily had very good suggestions to help the bewitching hour we have been experiencing with our new puppy
Learned some tips on scheduling more naps and sleep for Dino.
Yes. The guidebook plus call with Emily has been worth it already
Emily is very knowledgeable and gave me some great advice regarding training my Boxer puppy
Great advice to teach her to not jump on people.
Awesome! Many tips and tricks were shared I had not previously heard of!
How to recognize the dogs behavior for goi g outside.
Yes - at least for a couple of months.
This was so exciting! I have bonded so well with my Border Collie mix and had so many questions and Sally had all the answers - and then some! She had great stories and super ideas!
We talked about our older dog's marking with the coming of the puppy, but most of the call was about our puppy's energy and herding and barking and Sally knew all the answers!
This was fantastic! I learned so much. I had no idea that I needed to separate my two puppies for training and potty training and even play times with me! It all makes so much sense when Sally explains it.
My puppies just were not "getting it" - potty training, bonding with me, not biting me, etc.
I have a plan. I had not thought about keeping her on a leash or giving her a time out.
My puppy is constantly nipping and biting and jumping on me. Sally told me how to give a command and demonstrate it a couple of times and then give her a time out if she doesn't obey.
Very informative and professional and comfortable to talk to
Giving her more sleep during the day
Yes, a place to get the correct training
Very informative and validating totally valuable to our journey
How much sleep the puppy needs and behaviors when doesn’t get enough sleep
Absolutely really a good product and service
I feel much better about how we are trying to help our new dog adjust.
We rescued a breeding $#*! from a puppy mill and she is scared to death and won't take any treats or let us pet her, but Sally gave us some ideas and told us to keep doing what we are doing and be patient.
This was fantastic! I realized I had done and am doing some things really wrong for potty training and I did not training for anything else and now I have a plan for several things! My husband said the dog has to go if we don't get the potty training under control soon and I am ready to do all Sally told me.
Potty training, teaching Lulu to sit stay at any door, esp if it is open
Emily was very helpful regarding the socialization issues we are having.
Emily gave me suggestions and let me know that my puppy’s behavior is perfectly normal. Hopefully after utilizing her suggestions we can get to a better place.
The call and resources that we sent to were very helpful. I would definitely recommend signing up and speaking to a trainer.
Emily was very professional and had answers to all of my questions.
The importance that sleep has on a puppies ability to learn.
My experience has been nothing but positive.
I am so glad I talked to Sally. She had such good ideas and really helped me understand the situation.
Our older dog is marking and I thought it was a potty training issue. As we talked I realized it really started after the old dog passed away and has gotten worse with getting the puppy and it is on furniture and items we like, so he is sending a message. Sally recommended a belly band and regular times of going out to potty and protecting his schedule and his "alone with the family" or "alone for a nap" times.
Talking to the trainers is so helpful!
This was extremely helpful! Sally thinks we are dealing with a dog that has some digestive issues and gave us some ideas of things to add to her food to help. She also thought we need to work on attention span.
We are going to work on "heel and sit" exercises and "sit stay" and "down stay" to help our dog with being focused in hopes it helps with pottying on command.
I think your trainers are really smart and very helpful. Glad they are patient and call me back.
Feeding my puppy and getting it not to bite on us
I've learned a lot so yes, I think anyone with a dog should sign up
We got right down to business. I described our situation briefly, Staff answered as well as offering some options. Welcoming and yet businesslike.
Additional treats to offer other than peanut butter.
Yes they should definitely do it, but know the importance of sticking to the learning themes as progressing along. They are determining how well behaved and important this pet is, and the thoroughness their attending to all areas, the happier their pet's life will be...and that of the owners as well.
Great help and good questions for me to think about and then good ideas of things to start teaching her.
I just rescued a 5-yr-old Westie and have issues with potty training. Sally was very helpful.
Emily was very attentive and helpful. She's easy to talk to and knowledgeable.
How to continuously use treats to reward and reinforce desired behavior.
Yes, it’s helpful.
