The tips you gave me worked like a charm. Chase is actually a Labradoodle. 4 months, extremely intelligent, born and raised in a barn until I got him. He only had one accident in the house and was completely housebroken in 2 days. His buddy is a Maltese he loves to hump, and Charlie snaps at him every time and growls. I was told it's a status thing on who's dominant. Your tips worked great. Thank you so very much.
I would first like to thank you for the emails. I greatly appreciate them! Your approaches have helped me with King already. When he's jumping and I simply ignore his behavior, as you said, he stops within a very short amount of time. Also, praising him with just simply saying good has worked great. I'm not sure if that has worked or made a difference for anyone else but it truly did for me. Thank you for free tips and advice. I'd not be fortunate enough to have something like this otherwise.
Sally was patient and kind and helpful. I think I understand my dog a little better now and have some direction on what to do.
She doesn't heel or sit, but I guess I really didn't teach her and Sally helped me understand what I need to do
We are at a complete loss about housetraining our present two-year-old Beagle and Sally was very honest in telling us to go back to "square one" as if she was a puppy we just got and to be consistent in the messages we send. We are willing to try anything!
Housetraining a Beagle
This was very helpful and I could hear Sally very clearly and understand everything she said (I have hearing loss).
Biting and how to use up the puppy's energy and how to not be dragged on the leash
I was afraid my puppy is too young for training, but am happy to learn that if I keep sessions to no more than 10 minutes, she can start learning heel and sit and leave it.
Training can start at a young age if the sessions are short
The training tips provided were helpful with my young male Yorkie. It obviously is a process and training takes time but the tips provided helped get us off to a good start after I had reached a hopeless point. Looking forward to more!
We were able to a quickly zero in on some ways to aid our pups eating habits
Scattering food satisfies my dogs scavenger desires
Very polite and gave me many things to try or do. She was knowledgeable and was able to give me answers to my training
How to crate train
So many way to learn how to train. Video, writen, call a trainer, ect
I only had a two day free guides to help train your dog...I have no success on pittie training ( Skittles is in unfortunately a 2 yr old Mill dog, I recently adopted), But used some of the lessions on other things such as ",Come,". I really enjoyed the advise,!
I have enjoyed reading the material they have sent me so far and it has been very helpful.
Emily, the trainer, was very informative on the topic I inquired about. She also gave me many very helpful resources.
I learned I need to preoccupy them when something like having visitors over that really simulates them. This will help keep them more neutral/relaxed.
It has been a decent experience so far. A lot of reading and other information to get through.
Great ideas. Loved talking to Sally and getting these ideas from her.
Learned how to teach my puppy to signal us that she needs to go out.
It was very helpful talking with a trainer. I got several tips.
Leave it, housetraining, crate training
My two issues were answered. I hope they work. She seems to be getting the potty training.
Potty training and biting me
I feel like we have a plan to help our dog build some confidence.
She is very scared of other people and becomes submissive and lies down if we are going to pass someone on a walk. Sally said to practice "heel and sit" routines for 10-15 minutes a day and then use those commands as someone approaches.
This was tremendous! Sally verified what breed my dog is mostly and gave me so many ideas of things to try to do with my dog so that we are doing things together since he is so independent.
Helping my dog socialize with people better, especially being with my husband and me
Felt a lot confident after this phone call, thank you Emily.
I learned the reason why my puppy may be bitting.
I was very encouraged after my call with the trainer. She addressed my concerns provided valuable information with written instructions for correcting my puppy's behavior.
The trainer provided a video regarding puppy potty training and how to teach my puppy to ask to go outside.
I would encourage them to sign up for the course because it it provides valuable information targeted for your specific concerns.
I paid for a training book I thought that was supposed to be sent in the mail. So far I haven't received it. I really haven't used your services much other than contacting a trainer once for advice on house training. I've paid over $100 so far for info from your company. Doesn't seem near worth it.
Thank you so much. This was really informative and right on the mark of what we need to be doing.
How to keep our puppy from biting and nipping and attacking our older dog and us. We will start work on "leave it" immediately.
I think your training tips have been greatly helpful. My dog has been peeing in the same spot everyday over the last two weeks. I thought was strange because he was already potty trained to go outside. I have done the umbilical cord method and I let him out after he eats and before bed and give him a treat and lots of praise if he goes. The first day he was not going but he already on the second day been getting more consistent with his potty training. I also started crating him at night and also if I'm not home to prevent him from peeing on the floor and he has been tolerating it very well. Thank you so much for you advice it has been very helpful. I plan to stay very consistent with your methods over the next month and then see how he does on his own.
It's great to dialog! I realize now, that I have new things to learn before Louie has a chance. Louie is not getting enough sleep. His behavior when he wakes up in the morning is totally different from in the afternoon.
I will use the telephone calls often!
Louie needs more sleep!
By all means, sign up!
I got a lot of things to start doing with my puppy! I thought maybe she was too young to train, but Sally gave me instructions on potty training, crate training, and training the commands "no bite" and "leave it."
Potty training
Answered my questions and helped further prepare me for my new pup.
I learned how to prepare for my new pup.
Having the modules to go on and being able to repeat them as needed has given me added confidence to keep at it. I can review and move ahead as well as skip the ones that don't apply to my puppy. Trainpetdog has been a great resource for me to go back and fill in the gaps and to move forward into new territory. I'm very glad that I came across the website.
Very sensible ideas - I feel that the things she told us will be easy to do and should work
We talked about biting for which I have to teach him "no bite" and use a time out if he doesn't obey and we talked about resource guarding and teaching "leave it"
