Frauds at Trip.com
July 17, 2023

We are travelling in Italy. We tried to do an hotel reservation with TRIP.COM … But at the payment, there was a failure message…transaction not possible.
Then we used another platform to book the same hotel, for same passenger, same date.
Arriving at the hotel, they inform us we had 2 reservations!…non refundable…
Our Credit Card was debiited! …even the message on the website said…pay at the hotel.!
Trip.com did not accept our claim.

PS: need to point that after this publication, I was contacted by TRIP, explained many many times the issue….and finally, the money was reimbursed

First flight was delayed 1 hour and 50 min. I was told to book a hotel, they even sent a list of hotels I can book to be sure, that they will refund the payment. After that they asked me to wait for the flight confirmation. So I waited. For hours. Time, which could be used for buying a new flight on my own for low price, if I would be informed at the beggining. At the end - 24 hours in the airport, one night in the hotel and an expensive flight for the last moment. First and, believe me, the last experience. Take away information: dont believe, what they way in the phone, instead read the trip.com conditions, transfer time 4 hours MINIMUM (if booking with them), if delay more than 2 hours for 1500 km flight, dont wait for info and buy next flight, then handover to enforcement company. Better not use company of this type, buy tickets directly from airlines.

Trip.com is cheating people money

I bought a ticket from trip.com. And within one week they inform my flight to Semarang Indonesia cancelled.
I have check with with Indonesia Goverment and find out that there is totally no flight Semarang.
Trip.com made fake flight and ticket booking. To+date Until now I never received my money back.
Please beware of this company.

False pricing and booking confirmation

The rental agency charged me additional $172 US and said I had to pay these fees if I wanted the car. When I sent the booking confirmation and receipt after returning the car as trip.com customer service asked, they just restated that I'd be charged the $172. I questioned why the confirmation stated that $0 to pay at pick up and there was no response. I asked if they contacted the car rental company and no reponse to that question either. The booking confirmation should have stated that extra fees apply, etc. Multiple replies from trip.con agents were unhelpful and useless.

No proof whatsoever that I will be getting my money back from flights booked to New Zealand from Australia. When I ring them, they conveniently just give a standard recorded response, then hang up. They've got my money and are not giving it back. Shysters. I cannot provide proof without divulging my privacy. I made a mistake and I won't do it again. I strongly suggest you don't either.

I had to cancel my flight due to a family death and I was upfront about this from the very beginning - told them it was a death of an uncle. The first person was very helpful and said he would put me through for a full refund considering the circumstances, and all I needed to do was provide a death cert and proof of relationship (although I did ask immediately how one would proof a relationship with an uncle, and the person said pictures sufficed). Obviously pictures didn't suffice and I had to prove it with my birth certificate. However, I got an email a few days later saying this request has been rejected as it was not a death of a direct family member and that is their policy - which is crazy because the first person who spoke to me already knew it was an uncle and said I would get a full refund as long as I provided the relevant documentation which I did. Very inconsistent and frustrating experience especially when it is already a stressful time.

An horrible company that totally disrespect and lied to disabled persons. We will never use it again. They told us different things, it did so much day that we try to change the date or our return flight. That was supposed to be free and they do everything so that we pay. That's an emergency for us beacause we organized the hostel, taxi and we are gonna be homeless because of their mistakes. We have to get the tickets to come back home. Trip.com are liars and scammers, never take a flight with them!

Not trustable

For a trip.com and Hilton. Went to my room to this hotel in Port st Lucie, the person next door had the TV very loud at 1:00am and I could not sleep. Went downstair attendant called the room, went back up still loud for 15 minutes so I asked for another room, none available so I said sorry I cannot sleep here, rembourse my 2 nights. But no, I reserved with a third party(Trip.com)…. Third party don't want to do anything, TRU by Hilton, don't care so never Hilton again and never trip.com or any third party again. Really you cannot sleep because of a very loud neighbor and they say we don't care. They prefer lose their name over $200 that's ok but by me not going to their hotel (Hilton) for the next 20 years they are losing a lot more. And trip.com for maybe what $30 will lose a lot more than that too.

When I booked, it felt like a scam. Seems to have a nice interface but when I paid and received the confirmation number, something felt off. I called the hotel a few days after making the reservation and they had no record of my reservation. I gave them my name name, confirmation number and check in/out days. I chatted with trip.com and they assured me the room was confirmed. I pressed them and they said they would look into it. I received a phone call about 8 hours later saying there was no confirmed room and they would refund me. I'm glad I called the hotel because I would have definitely been stranded without a place to stay.

I am very unhappy with trip.com. I bought a flight ticket about £1208, however, I check later. It was overpriced. Also, ticket requires to pay for boarding and seat reservation. I complained about it but i received irrelevant reply. I again complained but no one reply me. I was overpriced and also badly treated by customer service. No promised refund

I was due to fly back to NZ from London 13/10/22 I suffered a fall & severe brain trauma so called to cancel & was promised a refund spent the past 2 1/2 months being told they were waiting for the airline then they wanted proof which I sent but they replied no refund, from an email you can't reply to.
Absolutely disgusting I think if they promise a refund they should honour it.

Trip.com AVOID!

Just had to pay an extra £110 on top of outbound flight due to unable online check in with Trip.com on their website despite muliple attempts 48 hours before the flight. Spoke to customer services but was told had to check in at the airport which incurrs a cost of £55 per person. It did not mention this additional cost double the cost of the original ticket itself. Disgusting!

I used trip.com for the first time ever and prepaid my stay at the holiday Inn express in lorton va. When we arrived they had our reservation but were not paid by trip com that I prepaid. I called trip.com and found out their payment goes through a third party after being asked to wait on hold while the customer service tried to correct it. I waited about 10 minutes and he called the hotel front desk. Their third party that dies the payment was in Asia and with the time difference he couldn't get the hotel paid. I had to pay a higher rate to pay for the room myself.
The rep told me that trip.com would credit my previous payment and had to give me a separate credit if I filled out information on line to get a debit credit. I wanted over an hour getting my room after driving all day.
The customer service representative was nice but it doesn't make up for my imposition, time and aggravation.
I would rate them a minus if possible

Do NOT use trip.com to book flights! They won't allow changes and don't know what they are doing. They say ring the Airline, call the airline, they say ring Trip.com This has gone on and on for days. We now have to buy new flights with no refund option for the non-usable trip tickets. And NO, the replacement flights WILL NOT be booked through trip.com - I don't ever want to visit their scam of a website ever again!

I went online to pay for my hotel here on TRIP.com and they decided to pick the day for me to book because all the days were book and then proceeded to book it for a day that i did not choose and now they are still fighting to give us our money back. They were rude hanging up and these are Chinese people they do not do refunds or anything once you've made a purchase through them and something went wrong it will also be hard to contact them

Unfair charges and business practices!

I requested for a name change from Dubai to JFK via emirates and I'm asked to pay $119 for name change from trip.com while emirates charging only $30? Four times the actual charge! Very deceitful and robbing the customers!

They failed to book the flights with airlines, even though they charged me. Took hours to get through to their customer support. They had me wait at the Manila airport for almost 10 hours, only to fail to provide me with a replacement flight. Trip.com support agents constantly tried to get me to agree to a refund so they don't have to pay the difference on the replacement flight. Even though I explicitly said numerous times that I wanted a replacement flight, they had the nerve to cancel my booking without my approval. They don't care about their customers and will not honor any guarantees you may see on their website or in their app. It's been almost two weeks and I have yet to get my refund. Apart from a couple of lame, generic, copy-paste emails, I haven't gotten any real help from this company. If you value your time and money, do not use their services ever again.

Worst company ever! Customer service is extremely poor and you just go round in circles. Basically had to block my card and contact my bank for fraud while on holiday! They ruined my trip!

DON'T BOOK WITH THEM, pay that bit more money and book with another company.

Honestly, I don't know what people are talking about that trip.com is a scam. I booked a flight on trip.com to Chicago, IL round trip for $206. And everything went smoothly. But one thing I have to say tho. I was on their $#*! a lot. I call them twice a week just to check if my ticket is still there. And the day before my flight I called them and got my confirmation number and check-in at the airline website. Went to Chicago and back home with no problem! I had a great experience with trip.com!

Trip.com Hideous!

Trip.com denied in writing that they could not refund my tickets. I contacted the airlines and they said Trip.com is our agent and therefore must refund the tickets. They also added that if it were issued through them it is eligible for a full refund due to the pandemic. I contacted the Customer Service again and she said, after putting me on hold for 15 minutes that she could not find any policy from United Airlines... Wow!
