Trying to leave a review it keeps throwing me out Telling me to log in when I'm already logged in An absolute crock of $#!£ Never again, not wasting anymore time on this clearly lefty, woke organisation
Had a trip booked through Trip Advisor when Hurricane Harvey came through. I had to cancel my trip at the resort and got everything back except for what Trip Advisor kept. I feel Trip Advisor should refund my deposit due to the circumstances out of my control. I have NO way of contacting them about this matter. I will not ever go through this company again when booking my next trip. They have NO one who you can call (no ph. #) for help. There is no way of contacting them about anything. Who runs a company without customer service or contact info? Trip Advisor does!
What to say, I have been made my trip with at least 5 tour operators. But, tripadvisor.com is absolutely fantastic in providing us the maximum opportunity to enjoy and to leisure. They have contact with outstanding hotels to stay and awesome spots to enjoy the trip as well. A trip with tripadvisor.com is like we are in heaven.
My husband and I went on a cruise to Bermuda for our 40th wedding anniversary. Upon leaving the ship in Bermuda, we came upon taxis lined up to take tourists around to see the beautiful island of Bermuda. A very professionally dressed man named "Charlie" approached us and offered to take us on an hour trip for $100. As my husband has trouble walking, we took him up on his offer. True to his word, he showed us such beautiful sites and he was so informative. He stopped anytime we wanted to take pictures, go in a place such as the old churches, lighthouse or anything we wanted. He made this trip all about us. He actually took us around for 1 1/2 hour for the 1 hour price. If you go to Bermuda-be sure to look "Charlie" up. You won't be disappointed. He is a real professional.
I have used TripAdvisor for the past two years or more. Usually competitive Airline ticket prices but use caution the site you might be directed to are not always the best. Such as VAYAMA (In your best interest to avoid them.) TripAdvisor gives you a good look at prices and just as important they have insightful information available about Hotels, restaurants and things to do in the places where you are traveling.
Tip for consumers:
I recommend shop, compare prices and ALWAYS check with Airline and/or Hotel directly to ensure you get the best deal!
I am host on Tripadvisor.com.The poor level of customer service and delayed payments is astonishing.I have emailed, been calling them daily for at least two weeks because I haven't received a payment after a guest checked out(a week ago) but until today no progress.Yet if you refuse to host a guest they charge you USD180.
Apparently they have a finance department that no one can talk to or email directly.
Its an experience I wouldn't want anyone to go through.
I'm still waiting for the issue to be resolved.
Starting with Leida she sets our holiday journey. Watching her was a pleasure dealing with all types of visitors and her knowledge is rewarding. She goes above and beyond for everyone. The La Carts everyone was great Daniella stood out to me. Thanks Leida.
Housekeeping was special in Block 15.
Lobby staff also helpful along with the guards. Gardeners to cooks. And the food was great this year. BBQ and buffet didn't starve.
We are never disappointed there.
Been going for years at Club Kawama. Nowhere else I'd rather be.
I really like this site, but they have a major short coming. I am finding edits to listings beyond a simple review practically doesn't get done. I have flagged several listings with wrong addresses, duplicates, or being closed and that never seems to get processed and you get info on places that aren't there anymore when searching for suggestions where to go.
I have sent followups, and I get assurances they will make the change (not sure if those are from live beings or automated responses), yet they don't happen. I have one change since October and now the business has closed down!
Bad data is worst than no data. But since many of these "review" sites pride themselves on how many entries they have, they seem to be slow in taking data down or prefer to duplicate entries leaving things behind.
Amsterdam Restaurant in Rhinebeck NY. This restaurant is worth the visit. The food was quite good, fresh and prepared well. Appetizers were actually better than main courses. Excellent wine list. The one complaint I have was with service, it was much too slow and we had multiple people attending to us. No idea who was supposed to do what.
After the traveling resumes, my account couldn't log in by Facebook.
I write in thru email but there wasn't resolution from anyone ever.
There was no longer a travel trip planner function. The reviews were out dated.
Please close down your site if there isn't anyone working anymore!
Thanks
I signed up with TripAdvisor to help me with getting more traffic to my B&B. Found that they do not have the traffic that they claim and when someone does inquire you have no idea of who they are. Then they double dip into both our pockets and the potential guest when you do book. Not my cup of tea. Stay away if you are an owner needing traffic from TripAdvisor.
This summers we were planning our trip to Europe and tripadvisor was really helpful. We got all the useful information and the ratings helped us to plan our trip. I will keep using the website for further trips I make in future
A website with 1000's of reviews for hotels all over the world, reviewed by real people, how did we ever book a holiday before?!
No longer do you have to rely on what the brochures say, or rely on the their glossy pictures. Tripadvisor has review from peiple who have been there and customer pictures as well.
Their forums are really usefull if you need advice from people who live there. I went to Sri-Lanka and needed to find out the best way of getting from A to B, posted in their forum and a local guy came back to me with 24 hours.
What a great service. Thumbs up.
Very accurate reviews! Found this out when I visited Norway recently and I had to be checked into some hotel. I was able to find some reviews about the place and even proceeded to negotiate a good price based on the feedback!
This website is a lifesaver. You dont have to surf the web and all kinds of forums - just go here and find out what you want about a certain country or a hotel. Most of the reviews and info there is legit.
I consult TripAdvisor all the time. The site enables me to get a true picture of a resort or a restaurant, because It allows me access to many opinions, both good and bad. Information is power and this site gives me the tools I need to make solid decisions.
Had issues with my booking but they left me hanging saying just deal with the provider but the provider does not want to help and tripadvisor has no number to help me. Dont use this website if you have any issues they will leave you but take your money
A good site which offers the information people need to make an informed travel choice. From time to time you see a review on this site that may be biased, but the ones that document real customer experiences are generally helpfu
Beware of signing for this service. They will autorenew the plan automatically each year ($99 / year) with no option to opt out after the renewal started and will not let you know about the renewal before they charge your credit card.
They profit of most of the businesses that are listed on their site and claim to have a very high standard to list your products and remove products from businesses from their Viator site and allow other businesses that rebrand with a new name the same business that had awful reviews before to start over and offer their services with lies about their destinations...
I really think that if you are looking to but a service please go directly to google and research the company and buy directly from the supplier.
To echo Eddie's comments, it's simply indispensible to anyone who travels around a lot and needs to find decent hotels. The comments are informative and often hillarious.
Some reviewers seem a little too picky (expecting 4 star accommodation for 2 star rates) and others seem forgiving of just about any fault (most likely shills). On the whole though, I have found the consensus to be spot on in most cases.
Highly recommended.
This site will not release any contact information of the guests until all the payments are complete.
As a remote owner with rental properties in Costa Rica, this makes it difficult to prearrange transportation, tours, and activities with the guests.
All other sites, VRBO, Airbnb, etc. release the information when the booking is made and half payment is received by them.
Another annoying negative is that this is the most difficult site to get thru to on the phone.
Overall Tripadvisor/Flipkey is the worst vacation rrental site for owners. They push their "free" listings but owners pay in not being able to provide the best service for their guests.
I booked with Cancelon for the Superbowl 2018. I paid in advance for a room at the Hilton 10 mths ahead of time and received my confirmation. I called them every month to make sure my confirmation was still there and was reassured it was. Cancelon put me in a Comfort Inn and told me a week before I departed. It was too late for me to get a room elsewhere. They ruined my trip and birthday weekend. I will never use them again, and hope this reaches people considering uses them in the future. I contacted them several times after for a partial refund out of good faith with no response.
Booked a hotel in August for a March stay through TripAdvisor. The Strand in Myrtle Beach cancelled one day before arrival because they are doing renovations to two buildings! Called Trip Advisor for help and they said they would call and try to work it out with the hotel and never called me back. No reason to book through their site when they aren't willing to help if there is a problem.
She wouldn't tell me anything and would be angry with me for no reason. Constantly on her phone and wouldn't let me even touch it.
Spyfix6 was basically my last clue.
When I got to her WhatsApp chats I broke in tears, my Wife was about to run away with this guy she had never met in real life.
Cannot thank Spyfix6 (at) gmail (dot) com enough.

We use this same Premier Inn several times a year and have never been dissappointed with the staff, food and accommodation. The Assistant Manager, Joey and Emma were of great assistance. Nothing was a problem to them. The evening meals are something to write about as they are of superb quailty and the breakfasts are something to die for. All are cooked to an excellent standard especially the bacon which I have found at other hotels to be undercooked. You are looked after extremely well from booking in to booking out. In all, Premier Inn is a bargain place to stay.
