This on line unethical advertiser have a bunch of arrogant people working for them who are self opinionated and make decisions on their customers behalf rather than communicating with customers first. Be warned.

True Local truly are a horrible service. One disgruntled person i dealt with had a miscommunication with me and he left a fake and degrading review about me and my Business. Both the reviewer and myself have made at least five requests for the review to be deleted. I had the comment flagged, i had sent images showing the reviewer with the same name admit to faking it and the reviewer himself has admitted to his decietful review and himself requested his review be deleted. True Local came back to me with a copy paste email saying "not everyone can be happy". What on earth is this? What a horrible service that allows trolls and gives people the power of anonyminity to try to destroy a business that has done NO WRONG.

We put in a report as an abuser claiming to be a customer put in an offensive review (obscenity). They concluded that it met the guidelines and reposted. We changed the business profile to a fake. Stay away from them

Lift your game truelocal.com.au. My business got a 2.8 star rating after one person wrote multiple bad reviews stemming from the ONE incident. She was angry when she came in and was angry when she created multiple accounts

I had one of your customer service representatives contact me at 6:42pm this evening.

He was calling me in regards to my business listing on your directory.

After telling him that I no longer needed the listing because the business hadnt been operating for 6 months, he responded with the phrase, Stop talking s**t to me.
After I repeated what he said, he immediately denied saying this. However he chose to continue the conversation with F**k you, f**k you, a thousand times F**k you.

I have never been more disgusted and insulted before in my life when dealing with any other company. For a company like yours that ultimately controls the reputation of other businesses, how you can employ such people is completely abhorrent.

After such an experience with your staff, any further correspondence that I receive from you in regards to any services, I will consider harassment and will take further action with the ACCC.

True Local will not allow me to update my business details even after providing them with sufficient evidence of ownership
A lazy platform with no backup or service that is unhelpful for business's

True Local could potentially be a beneficial resource for users looking to support local businesses, but it falls short due to an unintuitive interface, inefficient search functionality, untrustworthy review system, and subpar customer service. It's disappointing to have had such a negative experience with a platform that has so much potential. I sincerely hope that they will take feedback like this into account and make necessary improvements. AND REMOVE MY LISTING which I did not place in the first instance.
They gather information from other sites some of which are outdated and incorrect and formulate an ad on their site.

No matter who lies to mislead the public against an honest business TRU-LOCAL wrongfully allow it stay Published, even After you offer proof of your innocence, TRU- LOCAL will refuse to follow it up on your behalf, because of their small mindedness, and arrogance.

Stupidly got stuck in a 6 month contract. Called up to cancel at the end of the contract, they tell me they need 30 days notice for a cancellation so I have to be charged for another month. THIS COMPANY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM UNDER AND CIRCUMSTANCE!

Businesses that pay Truelocal can manage the reviews. I saw one sponsor had deleted ~10 good 4 star reviews, leaving only the ~50 excellent 5 star reviews. That's not only bad for consumers, but bad for all the businesses. People's bad reviews get deleted, the good reviews get deleted = worthless reviews. Similar to the ACCC case where Meriton 'misled and deceived' by blocking customers' bad reviews. Wouldn't want to be a business relying on Truelocal when it hits the fan.

Dont wast time with this group. All unfavorable reviews are edited by True local to protect their customers. So you could be dealing with a "Chopper Reed" cash transport company. Caveat Emptor

I tried to warn people of a online scam but true local wouldn't publish it as it was apparently outside their guidelines? Pathetic review system that no one really uses.

They allow unidentified people to give your business a review, so hence if given a 1 star you cant question why, it could be your competition for all you know... they claim "true honest reviews" however they wont reveal the person behind the review... True local does not even rate compared to other search sites... their standards and communication is lacking, they dont even provide a phone number for their services... As with other reviewers here I would like to see Truelocal banned from google... at least the likes of Facebook business reviews shows the persons details when reviewing... to hide behind a truelocal review without evidence or exposure to who you are shows lack of credibility... such practice should be against the law... they are hard to deal with and way unfair. Stay away as best you can... however as a business owner I asked them to remove my business from their listing, they refused... nothing true about these reviews... gives vindictive business's a chance to belittle your name... we have 5 stars every where else, 1 star at Truelocal due to no credibility of reviewers...

Contact your bank where the automatic payments are going to True Local and instruct the bank to stop the payments. If that fails then contact the ACCC (for Australia), or its equivalent elsewhere in the world.

Tip for consumers:
Do not believe all that you read. True Local do not always show poor reviews.

My Trades Business has grown over the last few years, and has branched of into two fields both business names operate legally under the same ABN however True Local does not acknowledge this, unfortunately I cannot offer customers the complete service of what the business extends itself too, under true local one business only rule means I cannot target and advertise to customers both areas of my trade whilst operating under the same ABN & its field. I would like to give true local a positive review but its bad practices are choking my business.

I find that true local will not help the small business as im a small business i Hv had one bad review 5 years ago put on my business witch is not true and they are asking me to prove myself as a business witch is Bull$#*! no help at all they Hv the power to remove it and wont after emailing back and forth all the do is copy and paste the last comment pathetic would highly recommend not to use true local no help and dont care on good faith u should Hv remove it

Submitted a negative review for a Company who is advertised on True Local. Some weeks later I had a email request from TRUE LOCAL asking for proof of the transaction, Invoice, Quote, Receipt's and bank statements. I forwarded them personal payment receipt and invoice as proof of the transaction. Suddenly review has been removed? This must be a paid site for Companies and only positive reviews are accepted. I resubmitted review and have received another email telling me it has been withdrawn as I have product name in review, the product supplied by the PLUMBER. I have submitted again. I have called TRU LOCAL 3 times and the person to speak to is always OUT.

What a joke these people feel they have the right to list my business on there site without my permission and then asked for ASIC details to remove it i will not stop until this listing of my company is taken of there site TAKE MY BUSINESS OF YOUR SITE TODAY! Then they said we get your details from the white and yellow pages what a scam i have never been listed with any of these companies TAKE ME OF YOUR SITE TODAY!

If you are a business STAY clear of TRUE LOCAL. Do not waste your time and energy. NO Customer service can only email Support We asked to have our listing Removed they refused as we had not ceased trading so they are holding the Company I own to ransom. We get ZERO business from True Local the only calls we ever got were from sales calls when we paid for a listing. When customers put a review on you cannot have it removed even if it is all lies. The Customer can comment as many times as they like each time giving you a 1 Star review TRUE LOCAL does nothing. This is MY business and if I am on a website I feel I have the right to be removed if we are not receiving business from True Local we are not receiving Service from True Local and we cannot even Speak to a Support person At True Local. True Local will take your money and GIVE you NOTHING in return.

I cannot get through to Truelocal via telephone or email, so I am trying this avenue...

All attempts to get Truelocal to action my requests have failed. Truelocal, please attend urgently. I also attempted to call you 1800 029 010 number@ 11:31am 26. 3. 19 but only got a recorded message asking me to leave my contact number (which I did and have not received a response).

UPDATE: Received a phone call from S... D... TrueLocal Acccounts receivable 12:29pm 27. 3. 10 (02 9228 7011) who advised she could not/would not help me in any way, she was very sorry, and I had to continue putting my requests in writing only (and that they were "busy" but would get back to me as they were a great team).

I just want to be removed from Truelocal algother... no profile/no reviews.

True Local is a TERRIBLE UNETHICAL business, that should not be allowed to run. They refused to post an excellent review that I gave to a local business, and told me to read the guidelines. I read the guidelines and I had NOT breached a single one of them. And why don't TRUE LOCAL offer an easy google map review system like any other business? I bet they allow negative reviews that are not vetted properly and destroy local businesses. UNETHICAL - It's been weeks and I haven't received a proper explanation

They take money off business to remove negative reviews which are legitimate reviews. The owners of a particular business have had my reviews removed.

My story with True Local was when I called up to make a enquiry about advertising with them back in March. Thinking it was only going to be $90 per month, the package ended up being close to $300 per month. WTF?

So I called up the next 3 days to ask why and wanted to cancel. "Oh sorry mate- you can't, you have signed up for 6 months and there is no cancellation fee"

Yeah right- so I went and spoke to Fair Work and wrote a long email about how dishonest their business was to True Local. Still I got no reply from True Local- almost seems like nobody works there anymore.

However strangely enough their email system that sends out invoices is still working. It always sends out the $300 invoice email to me every month to remind me. Wow something actually works at True Local.

Any business out there NO NOT in any circumstances contacted True Local or any Sensis base services. They are there to take your money- great with sales enquiry and signing people up and little to no after sale service. Clearly a money making business with no results. So many complains about True Local out there.

Tip for consumers:
No not use this service. Seriously- you will stress out trying to resolve anything with these people. Your better off giving the money to homeless on the streets.

Over 6 years ago we received a one star rating and aggressive negative comments from a customer who had a substantial outstanding account with us. The customer claimed that we had caused damage to their property and slandered our product. Some months later we took the customer to the small claims court which ruled in our favour and ordered the customer to pay the outstanding debt. However, True Local refuse to remove the defamatory comments and they still remain on our review page over 6 YEARS LATER.

True Local is a biased and defamatory website which attracts anyone who has an axe to grind. Review content is not verified, nor are the bonafides of the reviewer who may not even be a customer of the business under review. To this end, many True Local reviews are actually slanderous posts generated by competitors of the business.

The review content of True Local is heavily biased towards negativity and should be ignored. The content is grossly inaccurate and damaging to business. It is far more likely that the 0.1% attention seeking, unreasonable customer will post a poor review than the 99.9% of satisfied customers who have no motivation to post a good review.

Shame on True Local who are nothing more than opportunistic gossip mongers.

They stimulate negative reviews to get clicks; they are not interested in true reviews.
They are owned by sensis; due to the downturn of yellow pages they stimulates the same bad business tactics

Never publish negative feedback - useless
I was trying to post negative feedback based on my negative experience, but they refuse to publish.
Never believe in postages on Truelocal - they are NOT TRUE at all!
