This on line unethical advertiser have a bunch of arrogant people working for them who are self opinionated and make decisions on their customers behalf rather than communicating with customers first. Be warned.

They censor your reviews if it's even slightly negative they delete yourcomments wouldn't be surprised if they are in bed with the company I am reviewing

I have been a long term client of true local for over 7 years. The advertising campaigns did not succeed as expected regardless you how true local tried to assist in the early days before it was sold to Yellow Pages.

Since the merger my business account specialist never called to catch up and see how your advertisement is working along even after contacting them they where no help

I continued the pay the just under $300 per month for an advertisement that did not work and continually updated the add with new photos and done exactly what the previous business specialist recommended to achieve maximum results even gave me 1300 number to monitor how many calls actually came from the advertisement

I can say I didn't get any response from the true local advertising for years and I was on the TOP advertising package (top of the page priority banner)

I decided to cancel my service and completed the entire paper work process and received a confirmation email stating that the service will be canceled in 30 days

90 days later True Local Finance department is still deducting my account the full service fee
The last invoice 60 days ago was $50 but they had deducted the full amount and still are deducting from my account.

I have contacted true local about this matter numerous times as they advise me every time it will be sorted but once the following month comes they help themselves to the fee again without even advertising my add anymore

They only publish positive reviews as they get an cut from the businesses that have good reviews.
True Local is a TERRIBLE UNETHICAL business, that should not be allowed to run.

True local.com.au, could be seen to aiding and abetting, a world wide scamming group led by Samsucatel. CARAVANSANDMORE SA Au. The owners of the company do not exsist. I personally know of scams totalling into 6 figures. Google SAMSUCATEL or CHIRS AMECHI.

Nothing True about these reviews. Old, outdated and irrelevant. As for the reviews... True local should be banned from google!

I had a mildly negative impression of a steam cleaner and posted an honest review of my experience. (Essentially, the steam cleaner in question tried to get to pay extra for using detergent on the carpet. When I declined, he agreed to steam clean the carpets at the price we agreed and said he'd spray the carpets anyway. The carpets ended up clean, but overly wet which can cause damage in some cases.)

My review was rejected because I allegedly broke one of their guidelines, which they listed. I replied to support asking for clarification because as far as I could tell I didn't break any of them. In my reply, I listed all of the guidelines and explained why I had met them:

"Hi, could you give more specific reasons why my review was declined? It was
1/ based off a true experience. I have the receipt and I can scan it in and email it.
2/ isn't offensive
3/ is based on first hand experience
4/ doesn't contain swear words
5/ doesn't contain any identifiable information
6/ is written by a person who engaged the services of a business
7/ is solely based on specific experiences with the business
8/ is written in lucid English
9/ is not in contempt of a court
10/ does not make any claims of illegal activity or related to medical malpractice
11/ is entirely original

So... why was it redacted? Honestly, if that review was not approved, then it makes me doubt the authenticity the reviews on true local as being overly santisied"

They wrote back saying only that my review broke "one of the guidelines" and directed me to a link which listed them, without clarifying which guideline they thought I had broken.

They replied,

"Yes, we can appreciate that you highlighted the guidelines to determine which you had not met. Please read over them carefully. Your review has not met True Local guidelines and will not be published by the moderation team."

Which is, frankly, obnoxious and unhelpful. As it stands, I firmly believe the only reason they deleted my review was because it was negative which is why they were unable to give a more concrete response.

Accordingly, I think TrueLocal reviews are heavily biased to the point of being utterly unreliable and I urge others to also boycott their website.

True Local put their reviews on Google Search engine which is seen by users first, the information shown is incorrect and misrepresents businesses. In my case Google shows a star rating of. 5 with 2 reviews. It is only when you click on True local via google it opens up to show the supposedly more accurate rating and reviews this is also incorrect. Yesterday when I checked through Google I had 6 reviews and a 3.5 star rating, today they removed 2 positive reviews and a comment I made to one client and dropped star rating to 3. True Local will not respond see email I sent this evening below

I note you have removed 2 reviews one from caravan man and another from Vic. A please replace both reviews you have no right removing reviews from Platinum Limousines. Google search engine which comes up when Platinum Limousines is searched for is still incorrect, misrepresenting Platinum Limousines rectify immediately you are damaging my company causing financial loss. I will be seeking legal advice pursuant to your misrepresentation and loss of business and income should this not be rectified immediately.
I also will contact the Office of Fair Trading along with the Ombudsman.
I find your lack of understanding and communication appalling, I would of thought someone from True Local would have the decency to address this situation to avoid the legal ramifications.
