Trustpilot has a rating of 1.3 stars from 79 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Trustpilot most frequently mention integrity team problems. Trustpilot ranks 126th among Consumer Protection sites.
So many fake firms here advertising to be the real ones.Eyeqsecurity org saved me from going bankrupt after I invested so much into a company that was placed high up here by helping me recover my money. I lost faith in most of what I see here
In the 'Mail on Sunday' Boots offer a free token for a £27.50 face serum. I cut the coupon out an was waiting for our local [large] store to open at 11.00 a.m. They didn't have any of this item in stock. Tried 6 other stores and same result; not one had had any in stock. Tried posting on Trustpilot and as usual, review rejected. Reported on social media and found that other people too had not been able to find any stock available. To date 14 people have tried posting on Trustpilot and every review has been rejected! Trustpilot is rapidly declining in having any connection to what Companies are really like. Sitejabber is now in the ascendency for its impartiality. Keep up the good work.
I used to trust TrustPilot, but I have recently discovered for myself what others here say about it - that for its paying customers, it suppresses bad reviews and ignores blatant fake good review campaigns.
I tried to report some very obvious manipulation of TrustPilot ratings by a particular company, even providing proof. In May and October 2015 their rating was elevated from 3.6 to 9.4 by two blocks of five star reviews, one over 2 days and the other over 10 days. Most of the reviews were simple one liners by accounts with only a single review. At the same time as the first block of fake reviews, there was a posting in the client's own forums that urged forum users to elevate the sites ratings on TrustPilot.
No action was taken by TrustPilot. It would appear that the client in question is one of those that are a 'paid subscriber', In the meantime, I have observed a negative review in the process of being removed at the behest of this same client.
Looking more closely at a random selection of reviewed websites, it is obvious to me now that TrustPilot is not impartial, as it favours its paying clients, and its ratings are easily manipulated by clients and by other vested interests.
Attached a review I gave on Truspilot about Rebelle, they are a website where you can resell designer clothes, it was a horrible experience, they rejected an item without a reason, sent it back to me, only UPS never delivered (and my address is right been living there for years) and delivered it back to them, yet they will not reply. I gave the item number, the tracking number, the number of the registered letter I sent to Rebelle, everything you can check with a few clicks to verify (see attached screenshot) within minutes I get a mail from Trustpilot that they could not verify the authenticity of my review, apparently normal if a company pays them, they will then remove all bad reviews.
So I am minus a dress worth a few hundred, I can't leave a review, and Trustpilot protects them
They suspended my account for a false reason saying it was for a business or it wasn't me who was posting the review. I am extremely annoyed and the content integrity service is appalling. Also, I recently put a good review on TripAdvisor using TrustPilot and it seemingly got flagged because they thought it wasn't for them. Now, my account is suspended permanently and I tried contacting them but contacting them is absolutely hopeless as it just says reply to this email if you thinks it's a mistake then says it seems you can't actually reply. First of all, they need to hire better people to work at the integrity service. And second, I am really mad at this and hope one day this company will be shut down. NEVER USE TRUSTPILOT BECAUSE THEY WILL JUST REMOVE YOUR ACCOUNT. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Both my husband and I recently received emails from Trustpilot telling us they were deleting our separate and completely individual negative experiences with the same company (Yodel). When we checked these were old reviews we'd done ages ago - but our other positive reviews of the same company were apparently fine! My husband couldn't be bothered to query it but I felt it was the principal of the thing that warranted a reply. I still had evidence (i.e. My receipt) and decided to dispute the decision from their 'content integrity' team and sent the proof they requested that my complaint was 100% genuine and constructive - guess what?! They still wouldn't reinstate it and then I started to look into why to now find numerous people have had ta similar experience. I've written back to them yet again as I'm outraged they are allowing this to happen. It's really shaken my faith in what I thought was a trustworthy site and I am now of the belief big companies can influence them to take down anything they don't like - not what the site was intended for. I'm still giving them 2 stars as I'm trying to be fair and the site is better than nothing but I will no longer trust them as I did. Next time I'll come here and get the truth!
I made few attempts to post reviews about companies and they said that "not trusted source" or kind of that stuff. Not recommend and it is definitely not trustworthy.
By ussing another technique. It doesn't allow me to confirm my id by simply not sending me an email
This is really dishonest. And have vested interest.
I wrote a review on TrustPilot of my horrible experience as a customer of Godaddy and they removed it! Not only did Godaddy respond to my review because they knew who I was & was aware of my issue, but I wrote the review from my business email & offered for them to review my BBB complaint (website & BBB info is online) yet that wasn't enough. They wanted me to email them my private business documents to prove who I was & that I was a customer of Godaddy's. Utter nonsense to assume I'd be stupid enough to give complete strangers this personal information AND over the internet. I guess businesses can influence TrustPilot to remove harmful reviews. Hardly honest practises & not a platform that you can trust.
So here we are Trustpilot being a site to "Trust" well can you tell me why you keep suspending my account over the very thing that you want the public to write about.
Namely, your GENUINE experience on companies and products.
So why is it that you suspended my account over an honest Genuine experience review then after referring me as a threat or scammer? Then weeks later say ok stating we have cleared your account and reinstated you only to suspend it yet again a week later even though I have not written nothing since then. Is anyone there actually communicating with one another!
What kind of joke company is this, well this is my GENUINE EXPERIENCE of you as a company as you claim to state and confirm with every review written "disgusted" causing me hours of wasted time, that I feel I should bill you for.
Also strange how writing a review about Trustpilot is also met with strangely logging out and taking even longer than some other review strange that, with a message reading "sorry it seems something's wrong on our end. Please try again later" as if will be back later.
Even to a point of now stopping me logging in to review them, cant reset password because they try to block even these attempts, this is how bad a company can be.
Laughable, wont be coming here again.! Avoid search else where.
Listed a honest review of Easy Documents Network and sent irrefutable proof from my bank that they scammed me. I'm sure now, that Trustpilot has accepted payola from Easy Documents Network. I have reported to FTC Complaint Referral Form
Internet Crime Complaint Center and FBI.
You can not trust Trustpilot reviews, as they block accounts that give bad reviews. When you contact their integrity team(that's an oxymoron) The fail to respond, or say give proof of review, but fail to tell you what review caused the issue. For over two weeks i asked why was account blocked and what review caused issue. Here is their response

Hi,
Thanks for your email.
In order to protect our platform, we unfortunately can't give you specific details about why your reviews were removed and your profile blocked. However, you can read more about how our software works in our support article "Trustpilot's fraud detection software". Note that we look at a range of indicators and never remove a review based on one parameter alone.
We consider this case closed and won't be reassessing our decision.
We appreciate your understanding."
As you can see they don't care and have no integrity.
Therefore all I can say is their reviews are biased and they must be removing negative reviews.
The irony of the "TrustPilot" name is there for all that want to look for it.
If you post a negative review based on your experience, after a little while they will remove it. You will be sent an email to provide proof that you are in fact a customer. This in its self seems fair enough and you could argue that it does indeed improve the trustworthiness of the site as it would stop competitors posting false reviews.
However, when you provide this proof you will receive no acknowledgement, either positively or negatively and after 7 days all trace of your review will be removed.
Take for example, Savi.co.uk, a website currently scamming people with EPC's. They do not provide a service, cannot be contacted, when you try to cancel you get charged for nothing and given just 24 hour to pay before they start adding £15 surcharges to this cancellation fee. They have many negative TP added every week and within hours these are censored by TP and removed under the no proof of customer policy Go have a look, you can see this happening for yourself. This leaves only positive reviews. To add insult to injury, check out the number of reviews posted previously by these reviewers, 2 at most. Its not too much a leap to suggest that not all these positive reviews are real.
All in all, it would suggest TrustPilot is very much not to be trusted. I strongly suspect we will see it shut down by Trading Standards or exposed by the press in the not too distant future.
This web is a total scam, you can pay and they will removed the negative reviews from any business, trustpilot is a scam and should be banner from internet
Don't trust them

I have add a review and the take it down
Becouse they said the incident is from more than 1 months
For those wondering about Trustpilot, let me tell you about them. I can easily summed it up with only one word... CROOKS!
You see, Trustpilot actually charges a lot of money to those who don't want bad reviews. I guess money does talk doesn't it?
If you post a bad review to a paying customer, you can rest assured that they will do all that they can to make sure it is never posted. I dealt with them for months just to have my review posted. My review was right to the point including dates, order numbers... everything but sure enough, Trustpilot hated it and refused to post it for a long time... well until they couldn't ask me anymore stupid questions.
Again, TRUSTPILOT are CROOKS... Plain and simple. Any review site that actually charges fees to companies are CROOKS as they will clearly make sure only good reviews are posted and a handful of already prepared ones where the company comes out and fixes everything. Just look at my other post about selectspecs.com where I described my story and how those selectspecs.com aka CROOKS not only robbed me but NEVER EVER attempted to fix the problem even when they were well aware of it.
Don't bother with Trustpilot if you have negative reviews. I think they should change their name to nevertrustpilot.com Much more suitable.
Trustpilot was well advertised but it's most likely most of that advertising comes from charging the companies reviewed which if correct would lead to a large conflict of interest.
Certainly when Sammydress.com failed to provide the goods or a full refund, Trustpilot did everything they could to take down my negative review of them. Reviews of the company on independent sites was very low and was filled with unhappy customers whilst Trustpilot had 4 to 5 stars for the company.
The reviewed company constantly sniped at the review, which I had to change because it didn't meet their rules on format, then wasn't linked to an order, then didn't have documentary proof and then they took it down anyway.
They also insisted on having me provide personal data, even though they aren't registered in the UK as a data controller and hide behind weaker protection of the Danish system.
If all negative reviews are deleted then the site is of little use.
They were also reported in several papers to be constantly abused by fake reviews of companies to bolster there rating illegitimately.
Hello, Today a potential customer emailed our support team with some rather disturbing information. They wanted to know why we cannot be trusted. I was totally bewilded and absolutely horrified.
(Please see the screenshot attached)
Can you explain why there is this kind of warning about my business?
I do not have any dealings with Trustpilot whatsoever, In fact I was unaware we had reviews on this website.
The heading is...
' We have detected misuse on this site '
See the Screenshot attached for the whole message.
Then goes on to defamate my company without notifying us directly.
Why is this happening and what gives them the right to use defamation of character unessacarily against our company? Totally unacceptable!
I noticed a drop in sales over the last week or so. This is possibly the reason. Do you realise the damage your false warnings do to a business? They are completely false claims right at the top of the page on Trustpilot, we are far from a scam company as you can possibly be.
As you can imagine I want this rectified and some kind of resolution commencing before I contact my legal team for advise, and start legal proceedings regarding this matter. This is absolutely absurd.
My guess is a jealous competitor taking advantage of your flagging algorithms. However I want to here some kind of explanation as quickly as possible from them.
Absolutely absurd and damaging unessacary to a well trusted business!
Tip for consumers:
Well it seems Trust pilot cannot be trusted. The Irony !
Trustpilot is a scam on consumers. Trustpilot charges companies to delete negative reviews regardless of cause and allows companies to post fake reviews. There is no way to remove a fake positive review or even object; if you "flag" a review, it just takes you to a screen that asks you to sign in as the company being reviewed, i. E., only the company being reviewed can flag, object to or remove a review. If you look at the numerous positive reviews of companies with problems you can see all cookie-cutter "excellent" reviews with short text and no details of product purchased, order number, etc., multiple "excellent" reviews all posted on the same day, odd names for reviewers (the types of fake and "off" names you see on your spoof phonecalls), and similar and blatant grammatical and spelling errors. Clear signs that the positive reviews are coming from overseas review mills that pay people a penny a review to post. Trustpilot never removes the positive reviews, only negative ones. Also check out the "about us" section on Trustpilot. Trustpilot brags about removing "fake" reviews but when you read the text, it is all reassuring companies (not consumers) that "fake" (meaning "bad") reviews will be removed. There is not one word about removing or preventing fake positive reviews posted by the companies themselves.
Good site for reviews, but too much spam.
In general, you can form your impression based on the reviews, but it's difficult to do so.
They are not real. They help scamming people over rating dodgy company like Techinthebasket for example.
Don't trust Trustpilot!
Pay Trustpilot to solicit good reviews or we'll facilitate bad reviews for your site. Unethical parasites.
Left genuine experience of a company but trustpilot take it down what a joke. What's point of having site to leave review when they take down
I have posted reviews on trustpilot of various companies. I was doing so just a week ago where I posted one review and it was accepted, then I went to post another. Its at this point that I was logged out. I contacted them by email to explain the problem. Just got a reply back today. Apparently their "advanced software" had noticed "patterns" and this was why it happened. They have not explained what they mean by pattern nor offered to rectify the situation. I am just without being told (manipulation) banned from posting out of the blue with no adequate explanation. So ironically I am posting on sitejabber about trustpilot - ha!
[UPDATE] - OK, since the above this has happened. They reinstated my account - or did they? You see despite being now able to login and see my reviews, I can only see my reviews when I am logged in. If I am not logged in my reviews do not appear in the general timeline. I have contacted them about this a couple of times, and they claim that there is no problem. So I made a more thorough check. I used two browsers. One browser I was logged in to trustpilot, and the second I was not. Sure enough, I could not see my reviews on the browser where I was not logged in, but could with the browser I was logged in with. So I made one final complaint. I mentioned yet again what I had read twitter were doing, and that is "shadow accounting". This practice is exactly as I have just described. It is where for all intents and purposes when logged in you can post and see your reviews - but no one else can. This is what trustpilot is doing as well.
[Further update] - They have relented and given back full site privileges.
I'm sure that many of you will agree with me, when I say that more and more businesses are letting us, the customer down. They all want our custom and actively seek to impress us before we buy. All goes well until we the customer have a problem or just want to ask a simple question, then the bottom falls out of their glossy world and we are left annoyed, stressed and in some cases, out of pocket. I know there are companies around that do go the extra 1500 metres, (good old metrication) when things go wrong but they seem to be the exception, not the norm. This is where review sites and especially Trustpilot can really help, for the one thing a business hates is a really bad factual review. Consumer reviews hit them where it proverbially hurts, their profit margin, for we all read and are influenced by a well written review.
The Trustpilot review site gives us the consumer, the means to be noticed by businesses big and small; furthermore, a Trustpilot review shows us the companies that we can trust. Trustpilot uses software to monitor, as they say "coarse language"and so keep us the reviewer in check when writing, shall we say, a heartfelt review. This I found out when trying to express a term in the vernacular, I had to settle for the term "hen up", surprisingly they wouldn't allow me to use the male of the species. This review site really does work, only the other week I was let down badly by a supplier of garden furniture, I won't mention their name, as they say; to protect their guilty. Anyway, after the "protected ones" had failed to deliver twice! Had failed to answer several emails and phone calls, I signed up with Trustpilot, then put it all in scathing, detailed print. A few hours after it went live the company was on the phone to me, I got a good discount and the furniture. REMEMBER, never underestimate the power of the review and never underestimate the power of a TRUSTPILOT REVIEW..
Definitely one of the best review center of the world. Their probing of review genuity is also second to none.
Tip for consumers:
Very Reliable.
Dreadful experience talking to their sales team - robotic couldn't care less attitude - money making internet parasites who should be shut down
I had a bad shopping experience with viperatech in Aug 2023. In short regarding viperatech, they lied saying the order was shipped when it was not, tracking provided only when order hit destination country, ignoring questions, personal insults and threats by viperatech after a review viperatech did not like. On Trustpilot I made a review on viperatech about what was going on, cue the insults and threats from vipertech. My review of viperatech is on Sitejabber for your viewing pleasure.
Now on to Trustpilot. After I posted my review of viperatech on Trustpilot, TP told me I had 3 days to back my reviews or it would be deleted. I sent TP:
1.) Bank statement showing purchase with viperatech.
2.) Vierpatech own invoice showing paid with shipping address.
3.) Shipping label once order was actually received.
4.) Screenshot of chat with viperatech showing shipped lies.
5.) Screenshot of chat with viperatech showing persoanl insults and threats by viperatech.
6.) UPS tracking number.
7.) Picture of valid U.S. government picture ID. ( Veterans Affairs ID which was refused as an ID).
8.) Viperatech order number.
Within 5 hours Trustpilot had removed my review even after telling me I had 3 days to prove my point. I provided TP with all of the above within 3 hours of their request. Again an email from TR saying they think their decision was the right one. I disagreed and filed an appeal with TP and they asked for documentation, again said request fulfilled within hours proving my review. Now TP has fallen silent as of this review.
Trustpilot DOES NOT allow honest negative reviews to stay up. Make no mistake, Trustpilot is not what they claim to be nor posting honest reviews as they claim they do. Trustpilot is NOT here for the consumer but to protect the sellers.
