I love receiving packages from Try the World! It is so fun to open the box and see what snacks were selected. I just received my box for this month and it looks so delicious. It is hard not to devour everything at once.
Half the products were expired the other half are manufactured here in the US. When calling for a refund and to cancel order they told us nothing we can do Also picked Italy as country as preference, nothing from Italy was in the box. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCAM COMPANY!
Took a very long time to receive first box, but the food options were good. Second box arrived on time but I wasn't crazy about the food this time. I forgot to cancel my subscription, at first they denied my request for a refund, but after I replied they offered me a partial refund. I'd say it's a fun thing to try, but if if it doesn't turn out to be your cup of tea, don't forget to cancel before your renewal. It would be nice if you could cancel on their website vs. having to email them.

I purchased this box for my sister's birthday, and she absolutely adored it. I placed an order for two boxes through their website, which was user-friendly and streamlined. Impressively, the delivery arrived a day ahead of her birthday, making the timing impeccable. The box itself, along with the snacks inside, boasted vibrant colors and appealing aesthetics, enhancing the overall experience. We had a delightful time sampling the snacks and engaging in lively comparisons of flavors from different countries.
I absolutely love this site. I've been a member for almost a year now and each package I've received it always fantastic! There was only one time when I had an issue with shipment (the package was damaged in shipping). Not only did they respond to me right away, they sent me a whole new box even though there were only 2 items that were damaged. Their customer service is stellar, the online store usually has great sales. I've had a couple of family members use their referral codes that I sent so that resulted in more rewards for me. Come renewal time I am definitely signing back up!
Ive got three Try The World boxes as a gift from my family. I'm always very excited to receive beautiful boxes and these three gorgeous packages exceeded my expectation by far. In expensive looking boxes I found great selection of products from three different countries Brazil, Argentina and Mexico. I've impressed my friends with new easy to follow recipes, and serving specialties from abroad. I just love it, and look forward to a new travel experience with my next box.
I was initially impressed with the idea of the try the world box and as long as you don't want to interact with a human or get any customer service than you will be fine with this subscription box. I tried to clear up some billing issues by email and was outright lied to. I then called them and they would never pick up the phone. I left multiple messages asking for a good time for me to call them and they refused by saying they were very busy and short staffed. My last two phone messages were not even returned. Having tried and continued to use multiple subscription boxes, this company has by far the worst customer service and I strongly urge you to stay away.
Received this as a gift for Christmas. Subscription was supposed to start in January. It was late which they blamed on the weather. From the package to arrive some of the product was open in the box and smashed. February order never came. It has taken three emails and two phone calls for them to respond. They again blame the weather. Now in the middle of March and still have not received February or March. Trying to get a refund and having difficulty.
Absolute garbage. The company sells itself as a gourmet food/snack subscription & it's a bunch of junk food!
I've received the same items in multiple boxes.
Customer service is nonexistent.
I canceled my subscription 2/8/22 (you can only contact via email) my deliveries were to be stopped & I was promised a refund. I've received 4 boxes since then & 0 refund. Two boxes that I received today have duplicates of the same garbage!
Unethical, awful company!

Hi Deanne, we're deeply sorry about any issues with your account. Can you please send us an email to sayhello@trytheworld.com and I can get this fixed for you? Thank you for your patience and understanding.
They charged my card, sent me NOTHING, then tried to charge my card the next month. I told them I never received anything, and they checked and said that it was never shipped! So they apologized and said they "manually processed" a new shipment (whatever that means), and would send me a tracking number. Well that never happened either, not so much as a tracking number. It's been two months now since they charged my card and still I have received not one darn thing from them. Seriously? Most places, when they screw up, will fed-ex you out your order right away. I asked for a refund, no reply. So all I can say is I guess it's a scam.
This company is the biggest joke in food boxes that I have ever seen. Snacks inside are 100% starches, sugars, and carbs. Nothing inside is novel or intriguing. There is also no papers inside explaining any of the foods or providing any context.
The snacks have no discernable theme; I get snacks from different countries in the same box, always the same countries, and from countries like Mexico (which is not exotic to someone who live in the USA). I even get the same exact snacks in consecutive boxes sometimes!
The pricepoint is wayyyyy off as well. Each box contains maybe $5-$8 of food and they charge disproportionately more. Honestly I dont see how this garbage company is still in business.
Tip for consumers:
Avoid this company.

I ordered 2 different Christmas presents, of the 3 month subscription. Big, big mistake. One of those didn't recieve a box for 2 months, then got 2 packages in 2 days, which was filled with products that I specifically requested she not get. She has terrible migraines that are triggered by chocolate, MSG, etc. She had to give away most of the contents. These packages contain cheap, small and ridiculous items that are certainly not worth what you pay for. Customer service is awful. I regret trying this company.
This gift subscription has been a nightmare from the first month! I have to ask where the package is every month and, coincidentally, it's just been mailed! No way of tracking it online. Food items are subpar.

I was very excited to get this monthly gift. I am an enthusiastic home chef. I have received 3 monthly boxes so far. The first 2 month boxes I received were the same. I tried to find recipes for the contents but my boxes don't match what is on their website. Recipes contained in the boxes would be a no-brainer. Just seems to be a whole lot of random stuff with no theme. Probably could get this stuff from a leftover discount store. By comparison, I had used another monthly food Club before which was far superior. Anyone have a use for 3 bottles of Habanero garlic pepper sauce! I tried to directly contact the company but there are no options for that.
Tip for consumers:
I would hope the company would provide recipes for products and allow a direct contact option on their website. The potential is there but needs a lot of work

What a rip-off. They never sent any boxes (was signed up to receive 4,3 monthly boxes and a bonus box). No customer service response (they only have an email, no phone). Finally filed dispute with my credit card. Suddenly one box arrived and I got a reply to my emails. But the box was a random assortment of american "snacks," really cheap dollar store stuff. Customer service email has promised me a full refund for over 60 days, but it's never been sent to my credit card. And credit card company is being told by Try The World that they delivered my products so no refund, but then try the world will reply to the email chain saying they're going to refund. Bait and switch. Clearly going bankrupt and trying to scam for the last few dollars they can get.
Absolute junk. 'Try the World' is a subsidiary of at least one other snack box seller (Universal Yums) - it's role, seemingly, is to take all the leftovers from the other company(ies) and throw them in a box and then brag about how they "curate" the contents. There is no theme or coherence, just odd items that are not very good. The subscription cannot be cancelled no matter how poor the product, so best just to avoid this one all together.
Tip for consumers:
Always do an on-line review before engaging one of these fly-by-night sellers

Threw away most of the "snacks"
The contents of each of three boxes I received were of single ingredients for different foods. You have to go to market and buy the remainder to prepare even one dish from that country. The printed recipe in one box I tried had a typo in the amount of an ingredient to be added; it was time wasting to figure out, then correct. The boxes contained some unusual products (for example, argan oil) without an explanatory description of what made it special, how it tastes, or how it was to be used. Repeatedly I had to do Internet research to answer such questions. One box after another was disappointing.
0 customer service, they will try and not send you boxes and never contact you about it. This place is literally a scam, do not use. I just cancelled my subscription a month ago and they were suppose to send out my remaining 2 boxes even though it was done (I had prepaid) and nobody ever sent it out or contacted me.
Extremely, extremely unimpressed. Was supposed to get three boxes from three different countries, but instead got an odd hodgepodge of carby, sugary snacks from who knows what country. They sneakily renewed my subscription without my authorization, and would not offer a refund. AVOID this poor excuse for a company.
There is absolutely no communication once your order is placed. Try The World doesn't notify you of shipping or provide and shipping information. The items I received were stale and some were expired. I feel like they source their products from TJ Maxx's clearance section. There is no theme to the box or "story". I tried to cancel and they refused to grant a fefund.
I ordered a 3-month subscription in early August. Got my first box in late September (which seems like way too long of a lead time for the first box, but whatever).
The September box was pretty basic stuff from the UK that I can get at a normal US grocery store. Not super exciting, but good. I never got my October box, and customer service was lovely - they said they would add another box at the end so I could expect a November and December box. They also offered a free snack box given the inconvenience. Ok. Fine. So, now I didn't get a November box either and in the meantime I did NOT renew my subscription so now I can't even see the status of my boxes because I don't have an active subscription. I have requested a partial refund for the value of the 2 boxes I've never received. Not sure how that will go, but I certainly don't recommend Try The World.
I was excited to receive my box after seeing pictures of all the interesting boxes from different countries. What I received was a hodgepodge of five items that looked like it came from World Market. Items: olive oil, coconut oil, Nando's Peri Peri sauce that I can get down the street from my house, peach gummies and Belgium chocolate spread. This is not at all what is advertised. Save your money, do not buy!

FALSE ADVERTISING! BEWARE!
So, the concept looked pretty awesome and they are advertising a free box. I thought, great, I'll try them out and continue the subscription if I like the service. Follow the free box prompts on their website, get a Subtotal of $0.00, and bait and switch at the payment page! Total, $39! I thought, okay, honest mistake. I contact their customer service. Nope, no help there. Total bait and switch! Untrustworthy and, by the way, illegal marketing tactic! I can't trust these people and you shouldn't either!
I purchased this in 2015 and each box had a country theme, arrived on time, recipes for the ingredients, and high quality products. Now, in 2020 boxes have random ingredients, close to expiration date, no theme, no recipes, duplicate ingredients, and do not arrive on time. It's difficult to get ahold of anyone, and things have really gone downhill. I ordered for a family member as well, and they told me to get a refund as it was not worth it. Sad, but would not reorder given the state of things.
No customer service. If you have a problem, you are out of luck. I had a problem with a box and left 3 emails and 2 phone messages over the last 3 weeks. No response. I think they might be going out of business? I've never had an experience like this with any other company.
I had subscribed to Try The World for over two years. At first I was truly impressed. My bi-monthly boxes were filled with very good products. Then about a year ago. The products became pretty mediocre. Then I would be billed for boxes, only to have them arrive two months later. This is the topper. A person receives redeemable points for boxes bought. I had 51 points. I went to redeem them. I saw only cheese for my 50 points. So I went back to see if I could get a 30 point product and a 20 point product, only to be told that had redeemed my points already. An e-mail to customer service went no where. Rip-off company. Beware.
I purchased a subscription for my next door neighbors after they saved my cat who got outdoors (we live in coyote country). They have loved every box since! Personally the cocoa in the Paris box is my fav.
