Upwork has been my trusted platform for finding freelance opportunities and connecting with clients from around the world. The platform's vast network of clients and freelancers, comprehensive job listings, and secure payment system make it easy to find meaningful projects and build a successful freelance career. I appreciate Upwork's commitment to transparency and professionalism, as seen in its dispute resolution process and feedback system, which ensure fair and equitable transactions for both parties. Moreover, the platform's collaboration tools and communication features enhance teamwork and streamline project management. With Upwork, freelancing is not just a job—it's a rewarding and fulfilling career.
Business practices are arbitrary and unfair with the cost for freelancers of doing business on the site constantly increasing and various services and perks taken away. Not worth it for freelancers--and clients don't fare much better.
If I didn't have such strong principles I would have just let them keep my money the mediation process was not worth the abuse I endured at the hands of the con and the one sided devious UpWork employee mediator. Of course upwork doesn't get paid anything if the freelancer doesn't get paid so naturally they will side with the Freelancer, Even after I eventually won my right to a refund I had to again call email and fight to get it returned to my bank account. And still waiting 60 days later.

Stay away from Upwork. If ever decide to close your account, they will not delete your information even if you have no projects. They also refuse to provide assistance to remove your information from google search results.

Elance have overcharged me months ago and if I didn't look back at my bank records I would not have known. They advised they charged one figure and a larger figure was actually charged. They have not at all addressed the issue. If anyone knows who/where I can go to escalate this issue let me know. Extremely poor experience!

Covid19 hit us really hard. Where government support barely reach us, Upwork has been a great source of income that let us survive this pandemic without expecting a help from the government.
There is a lot of competition going on but if you have a unique skillset, finding a client is as easy as fishing in a fishpond.

Upwork is a very good freelancer app, where business opportunities comes dauly,. I love this app mainly because it makes me aware of the current skills in demand in the market place due to various clients request. It is very easy to search for jobs too, all you need to do is write your desired job in the search box. I love the fact that they guage the interest of d client and freelancer on a 50/50 rate, it's very encouraging so it's very hard to get cheated by your client or freelancer if you work on the site...
They also have fast customer service reply to attend to complains and help you get it solved.
Upwork is a very good site

The way upwork (old odesk - old elance) works is really pathetic. It is like torrents website where content would be posted free. I got a small website work done which was pathetic, so I threw it into trash, and got a fresh work done with a professional company. In a few months, top google search results of my website are actually all upwork, and there atleast 40 freelancers who have put it in their portfolio that they have developed it. I did try to contact elance, and it has given me a big list of forms that I need to fill, FOR EACH OF THE 40, and growing number of links. The forms need proof that the website is mine, from when it is showing, which professional company did it... etc. I did complete it a couple of times, but still they did not take any action to take of the links. Now when I search google for my company name, there are atleast 100 freelancers claiming to have developed my website.

I hate to say I am glad I am not the only one who got a letter canceling my account. I literally just got off the phone with them to find out why - ready for this one - I didn't use the account enough. That is why I was dropped. Not bad reviews. Not lack of payment. Because I didn't use their site enough. I've worked with them for 4-5 years and this is the first time I have ever had an issue. And clearly the last time. They did refund my last payment but I don't care. This was ridiculous and clearly I am not the only one confused and upset by this. My advice - don't go there. If they can just randomly with no explanation cancel your membership when you have done NOTHING wrong - that is a problem. Guru, voices.com, or voice123 are much better options. You might pay a little more - but they don't cancel you :)

After problems with freelancer.com (they stolen my money) I'm very careful with money transfer, after every job I transfer it to my card, but at this moment I don't had any problems with UpWork. I hope they will improve website performance.

Of all the freelancer platforms out there, Upwork is certainly the best. Thanks to the many and different daily job offers, to the certainty of meeting only top professionals, and to a team always supporting every need of its community, Upwork has been able to demonstrate that freelancing is a serious thing and a true lifestyle for creatives from all over the world. Obviously there are many things that could be improved, since generally speaking it's always possible to do better, but the changes over the years have been many and each of these has brought more and more benefits to all the clients and freelancers who meet every day on Upwork with the aim of giving life to projects of all kinds.

Upwork is a great workplace platform where you can find a job. Upwork is a great opportunity for everyone. However, there are some businesses who try only to find a cheap workforce. The service of Upwork is very good and safe.

This platform was working well for my freelancer, so she suggested I sign up for it and hire her through there instead of Fivver. I switched platforms and my account was immediately suspended for violation of service terms. I did no such thing and was not even given the opportunity to dispute their decision. To top it off they suspended my account and now I can't delete it. They have all of my information, including my financial information and are refusing to remove it from their site. I will be contacting the BBB about them. What a horrible company. They must not like money.

When I keyed in my credit card number to deposit, They said " they wanna verify my credit card and took away USD 10 dollar, then tell me my card is false. "
Then never pay back the money to me after 10 days
(My card is 100% available and real, because I paypal money to people with this credit card everyday and amazon and...)

Defiantly not worth it!
So if you use the time tracker, the freelancers can just use as much time as they want and you pay the hourly rate no matter what they do and how much they decide to use.
They say they have a low activity policy but this is a lie because they do not do anything about very low activity ratings.
The support does nothing as well.
If you leave a review and the freelance does not like it and is top rated, they can have it removed so are they really top rated lol.

Upwork is a company that I find particularly correct in what it offers for the freelancer like me. I like the harmony that emerges when I work there and the client and freelancer relationship is very good. It is a company that offers to all those who want to get into freelance.

Upwork blocked my account with 1200USD inside of it and told me to provide ID verification. I did and they told me that they are not able to verify my government-issued driver's license. Their phone support is rubbish they told me they can't do anything. What kind of assurance are you providing is you hold on to person money and not allowing them to withdraw it. This soo stupid

I am truly disappointed that my application did not go through. Not because I did not qualify, but because the website/company was not transparent enough from the beginning to make it clear that there was a possibility of not being accepted as a member. I thought that the submission was a checking process to see if we were real candidates. I dont appreciate having to give my private information and picture to a company that had these conditions. It would have been more honest on their part to have screened the career quota from the beginning. I feel that the Upwork site is just phishing for data because even if I close my account, they will still have my data. This is very disconcerting.

Upwork is a friendly freelancer site for both clients and freelancers. You don't have to worry about you done the job but not getting paid or you paid but you don't get the work done. Upwork will stay in the middle and get things right.

I lost my job because of pandemics.
I search a way to work from home and someone suggest me to do freelancing.
I try many websites but they could not help but i got a site name upwork.com its a great website.
I get many projects there

If you pay Upwork to see the bids made from other workers, there are so many workers from impoverished countries so the "low-balling" of bids, causes very little money to be made, if you're even chosen.
