“A successful cross country haul”

janine j.
6/18/24

I have a 22' enclosed trailer I needed hauled from NV to TN. I'd never heard of Uship, but it was suggested by a friend. I posted my needs, had a few responses, and ended with a driver who had his MC and DOT #'s plus he was a TWIC driver (Dept Homeland Security clearance) and I felt confident my trailer would arrive safely. Driver kept in touch with me each day on the road and we coordinated our arrivals, his by road, mine by air, and made the drop off without a problem. I highly recommend Uship for your hauling needs. It was a simple process from start to finish.

“Terrible Experience - Avoid using this company”

Alondra A.
10/1/24

Terrible experience. The third-party vendor contracted with this company delivered my vehicle 91 miles away from the delivery address. I had to arrange pick up in the middle of the night. The vehicle was picked up in working condition but delivered in non-working. The driver wasn't sure what happened. The vehicle has been at the dealer since the delivery. Too bad we have to use a 1-star to post a review, this company deserves a 0.

We used Uship as a back up broker every once in a while, and it was a big mistake, they use dirty tricky to lure in customer by give initial good rate and then rebill them x20 times more few month after. I should've known better since they got low review score by the time I used them.

Our first shipment with Uship was assigned to UPS freight on an expedite weekend freight because it's a hard access area only reached by a few carriers, after we book the shipment, printed BOL and everything from Uship we were told "we are all good, just wait for the driver" guess what? The next thing we know UPS freight never showed up, after I called to UPS freight, we were told the pick up request from broker(uship) was never sent, even our status on Uship shows "assigned" so we had to spent hours with UPS freight to get a drive for something we booked through Uship.

And the first hitch is nothing compare to the price scam they pulled on us recently. Around later May, we booked a shipment to NY through Uship and assigned to Old Dominion, because their rate beats our current carrier by $20, so sound like good deal right? And we booked the shipment as usual. Then on 7/11/18, we got an email from "Uship" simply says "oh hey! We adjusted your bill without reason, here's $1100 more for the single pallet you shipped" As you can see in attachment. Notice that we always input the correct freight info, last time we had dispute freight info was back in 2014 over $35 lift gate, just ask yourself have you ever shipped anything $1200 on a single pallet? And is it right for any broker to bill you an initial amount and then charge you whatever amount they want without your consent?

This is board line criminal business, now our office is seeking legal action on this scam shipper.

My advise, avoid them at all cost!

They over charge and add a huge uship fee after accepting bid. Better to call company direct/ Avoid uship as they are just a broker for a broker.

Too expensive. They collect on both sides of the trade. I'm going independent next time. Stop spamming people!

We are a Christian organization who provide living options and community services for the elderly. We were recently blessed with two new vans to assist in transporting our elderly residents to and from doctor visits and our wonderful senior outings. We decided to donate our old vans to our sister location in Missouri.
We Googled shipping companies and one of our first results was uShip. We liked the website and contacted the company on a Tuesday morning. UShip contacted us quickly and after a brief discussion we had a shipment scheduled for pickup on Thursday morning to be delivered that afternoon. Easy peasy, or so we thought.
Tuesday morning came and went with no shipper arriving. We contacted uShip and discovered that the truck driver does not actually work for uShip but is contracted to drive for the company. After several calls, uShip said that the driver was held up in traffic and should be here soon. That was acceptable so we waited patiently.
At about 2am a truck pulled in front of our assisted living quarters with the radio blasting some very offensive music. Our residents awoke frightened and confused. Our staff unlocked the front doors to investigate. They encountered an intoxicated man in a large truck with the name Harkey Transport stenciled on the door.
The Harkey Transport driver rolled down the window and began to slur some profanity laced version of English. He then opens the truck door and in an attempt to climb down, he kicks several pornographic magazines to the ground. According to my staff, these materials contained images of a pedophilia nature.
The staff asked the man to leave. The man began yelling and making threatening gestures frightening our staff and further traumatizing our residents. We finally locked our doors and contacted law enforcement. The entire event was a nightmare.
Shame on you uShip for sending a devil in the form of Harkey Transport to our door!

Sitejabber for Business

Gain trust and grow your business with customer reviews.

From the business

uShip is a worldwide online transportation marketplace connecting those that need things shipped to those who do the shipping. In minutes you can create a free listing to have your item(s) shipped, choose to let potential transporters bid on your shipment or view estimates.

Business History

People and businesses use uShip because it’s easy and affordable to price, book, and ship everything from cars to cranes, freight to furniture, and households to horses—whether it’s going local or long distance.

Our shipping marketplace helps you connect with trusted, feedback-rated service providers of all kinds—large companies, small fleets, single-truck owners and even roadtrippers—that compete for your business and offer extra cargo space at a discount.
Many great companies started in a garage. uShip started in the back of a rent-a-truck. In 2001, Matt Chasen and his then fiancé, Heather, were moving from Seattle to Austin. The 9 ft. Van Matt ordered was sold out, leaving them with an enormous 20 ft. Truck.

Along that 2,500-mile drive, Matt remembered the large family heirloom armoire he’d tried–and failed–to ship a year earlier due to the astronomic shipping cost. That’s when he had his lightbulb moment that he’d become intent on solving: creating a way online to efficiently connect people’s large shipments with empty truck space so both parties win.

Matt would go on to make this his focus at business school, where he met fellow students Jay Manickam and Mickey Millsap. The trio honed the idea, and in 2004, they launched uShip.com.

uShip is based in Austin, Texas, with European headquarters in Amsterdam.

Every 30 seconds a new shipment is listed on uShip worldwide.
