This company responds to reviews on average within 3 days
I have a 22' enclosed trailer I needed hauled from NV to TN. I'd never heard of Uship, but it was suggested by a friend. I posted my needs, had a few responses, and ended with a driver who had his MC and DOT #'s plus he was a TWIC driver (Dept Homeland Security clearance) and I felt confident my trailer would arrive safely. Driver kept in touch with me each day on the road and we coordinated our arrivals, his by road, mine by air, and made the drop off without a problem. I highly recommend Uship for your hauling needs. It was a simple process from start to finish.
Terrible experience. The third-party vendor contracted with this company delivered my vehicle 91 miles away from the delivery address. I had to arrange pick up in the middle of the night. The vehicle was picked up in working condition but delivered in non-working. The driver wasn't sure what happened. The vehicle has been at the dealer since the delivery. Too bad we have to use a 1-star to post a review, this company deserves a 0.
Deal directly with a well known shipper. Uship will pass along extra charges after delivery to make up for under quoting freight. They Added $100 for delivering to a large business because it did not have business hours posted on the website and a house was located on the property. REALLY?
Absolutely awful shipping service. I am a carrier who experienced multiple communication issues with this company. I addressed them to fix the trash they provide and they did nothing but suspend and then remove my account. They abuse customers and carriers both with absurd fees. It's a disgrace to the freight industry. I get charged 5% to work with a commercial dispatcher and uShip abuses companies and customers and takes nearly 50%. Their customer support is awful and the amount of inactive postings is absurd. It's a wonder how people make money off utilizing them as a loadboard. Absolute trash.
Had a Moto Guzzi California shipped from Wisconsin to North Carolina. Everything went great. Highly recommended.
uShip.com touts low shipping rates but this is all a scam. The carriers and uShip.com bait and switch after you book your shipment and it is delivered, they hit you with HUGE fees claiming that additional charges are necessary due to extra services. Extra services? They CHARGED $150 saying a lift gate was needed at pickup ($75) and delivery ($75) which is completely false. On top of that, they claim zero liability when the shipment is 10+ days past delivery. This company is strictly in it to scam users. STAY AWAY. It might look like a sweet shipping deal you are getting but trust me, you will get billed up the rear after the delivery.

I was extremely pleased with with the shipper I decided on. He was on time, and very apparent he had done this before. He was asked to place my trailer in a difficult location, but he done what was asked. I would use him again

I tried a few times to use UShip. They first give your a range of what to expect for potential shipment costs; High, Medium & Low. The estimates never came close to the the low or medium and always ended up on the highest end.
After putting your shipping emails in you start to get bids and a bunch of aggressive response asking questions and urging you to book with them. All the estimates are the generally the same and when you want to book a service charge is added ON TOP of the shipping fee, not cool and it should be calculated in so you get a real estimate. Anyway, its an imperfect process but I suppose if you luck out and find a somewhat normal shipping entity with a reasonable price then its worth it. Otherwise try to avoid this process as Ive been reading also that your cargo gets beaten up pretty bad in the process.
Beware! Beware! Beware! Uship does not care if your belongings are stolen!
I had two vehicles in transit and both were stolen, along with memories, powertools and various other miscellaneous items added to the cargo. When speaking with Danny T via email, mind you, they won't even call you from the Loss Department, he proceeded to continuously be unhelpful, and continuously tell me that they can't move forward with my case. They've denied my case, even after providing a Police Report of my stolen items. They've also refused to reimburse my Protection Plan amount, with no reason given. It's been close to 2 months and all i've heard from them is "We can't move forward with your case."
DO NO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! They will turn their back on you, even when you do the right thing and purchase a protection plan.

I choose a defend price for LTL through Central Transport. And for the third consecutive time through different providers I was charged additional fees a week later. I review my invoice with no explanation of the $105 upcharge. I call customer service and they take way too long to find out that Central said the driver was onsite over their 15 minute window for unloading (a joke but doesn't apply to me).
The driver said he was onsite for 40 minutes. Well I have cameras for this very purpose.
I was told to issue a refusal of the charges and sent a screen grab of the trucker arriving and leaving. 6 minutes from door to door.
The next day I am informed that Central through my claim out and I was going to be charged.
I was pissed and said I would not pay. So they said to send the video of the entire drop off. Two days later no word back from uship and my window has now closed to debate the charge.
This is clearly a bait and switch tactic. I hope they like chargebacks, because one is coming!
Hi Scott,
Thank you for your feedback. I understand you are frustrated with your experience on uShip.
The only time it’s acceptable for a service provider to raise the price post-match is when there are additional shipment details that come up after the bid is accepted. When this happens, the service provider may need to adjust the bid price accordingly.

Got a boat towed from PA. To CA. No pre dilivery inspection no pictures. Got in a 20 car pile up. Boat got damaged. Driver had no dot license on the underpowered truck that he drove inter state towing my boat. This is a federal offense uship is like uber only uber checks who is working for them. Be warned no support will be given and no credentials are checked when a driver picks up your cargo.
We shipped a golf cart from NJ to FL. Upon arrival it was determined that the cart was about an inch or two too tall to fit into the trailer. At that point he could have just said it won't work. He was determined to help us out. Lowered the air in tires and removed the roof of the cart. We were able to get it into the trailer. He went above and beyond for us. If there is every anything we need or a family/friend needs to ship, he will be our first call.
Rate doubled after delivery, come to find out after talking to a service rep. It was on their end, bc their system doesn't auto calculate for over size. Not my problem right? Still disputing for money back
Hi Dennis,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Service providers are able to discuss all costs associated with their bids, including oversized items, before a price is agreed on. If you have not done so already, please contact our support team at (800) 698-7447 or support@uship.com to address this situation.
I needed to ship a mattress to a family member 700+ miles away. A friend recommended Uship and this was my first experience with them. I found a someone interested in transporting it pretty quickly, but that shipper ended up being a bit flaky and quit communicating with me. So, I did lose about a week's time there. I cancelled the shipment and then reposted. I increased the price a bit because I wanted to get it there by a certain date. The second shipper was great. No nonsense, arrived when he said he would. Mattress made it to destination within a few days. It's not as easy as dropping a box off at UPS, but for odd items I would definitely use Uship again. I would just recommend that if you have a time constraint, get your shipment posted weeks in advance of when you need it there.
Hi Jody,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We're sorry there was a lack of communication from the first carrier you connected with, but are happy to see you found the right match on your second try. We’re happy you are satisfied with your overall experience and look forward to working with you again in the future.
Mark Mauricio moved a chair and ottoman from Jackson, MS to Dallas, TX and it could not have gone better. Best price available and his service was outstanding. Delivery was done within 24 hours of contact (this is due to schedules matching) but he delivered my furniture in perfect condition right on time. VERY pleased and would use again in a second.

Uship was great and easy to use. It was way cheaper and alot less hassle tha using FedEx or UPS Freight. It sometimes takes a few days to get a response to someone traveling through your area. But its still half the price of other options. The site is easy to use, and the whole process went smooth and easy. Highly recommend. It will now be my only freight shipping option.
Tip for consumers:
Be patient, and give as much information as possible about what you are shipping, including pictures and dimensions. And take pictures of your product before shipping and have them attached to your bill of loading, and have the driver sign all paperwork. For added assurance purchase added insurance.

When you look for options like Uship, you are expecting better rates and a good customer service, but this is not the case. I needed to send some packages within Canada, and when you compare the pricing with other well-known companies, it was actually more expensive. This makes no sense. This was my experience, so I would not recommend Uship.
I used uShip to ship a motorcycle from Memphis to South Carolina. The suggested bid price was quite a bid lower than what I actually ended up paying. I tried using the Smart Phone App. But I had to go to the PC based on line site to complete and track my delivery to completion. UShip phone support is excellent but only available directly during normal business hours. After hours support is via voice mail

Had a rocking chair in NY I needed shipped to FL. After listing my product to be shipped, I received several bids and decided on Llyns LLC. We decided on a price, and Aaron took it from there. He text messaged me every step of the way, and delivered it to our house exactly as we agreed upon. He was a great guy to deal with, as was UShip. Will definitely use them again if needed and refer to our friends.
Hi Robert,
Thank you for the review! We're so glad to hear you had a great experience with the carrier you matched with on uShip. We look forward to working with you again in the future.
I have used them twice, will not make that mistake a third time. First one had a damaged shipment. Second time, half the shipment was lost. First claim took 2 months, and they tried to underpay. Second claim has been three months, and they are refusing to pay what they owe. Beware that the "insurance" they now sell isn't technically insurance at all, but their own internal "assurance" program, and THEY decide what they will pay you.
Tip for consumers:
Hidden fees everywhere. Communication is terrible, claims process is a nightmare
We're sorry to hear about your experience and that you didn't reach a satisfactory protection plan resolution. Though uShip is a neutral third party that gives consumers the ability to connect with independent carriers, we do our best to assist when situations arise.

Pete picked up a golf cart I bought in Chestermere lake (in my absence) and brought it to Windermere BC on his flatbed. He had the right equipment, it arrived in good shape, properly secured, was on time (early in fact) and was very communicative from start to finish. I would definitely use Pete again!
Tip for consumers:
The USHIP quotes are originally displayed in US dollars so be sure to convert to know the Canadian funds (if in Canada). After selecting the individual bid (ie Pete’s detailed quote) showed in Canadian dollars.

We chose Stantiate based on the reviews that were left. They were very prompt on their pick up of our couch and chair to be shipped halfway across the country. They were also good at communicating with us during the drive. Unfortunately there was some sort of trouble with the vehicle which delayed the delivery by almost a week. That is the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. I would definitely use Stantiate again.
Uship is knowingly maintaining a vendor that has fraudulently taken our payment and our very important files and lied throughout the shipping process. They refunded us but we still don't have our items since January 4th. They have ignored our request to have the vendor removed.

Bought a large item on Amazon that I needed to return and the seller was kind enough to refer me to uShip. I did get a FedEx quote before listing my shipment on uShip. I quickly received a more competitive offer on uShip and accepted it. Never having used a shipping service outside of USPS, UPS and FedEx, I was a little intimidated by the whole bid process at first, but I had ZERO reason to be. It was straightforward, simple and saved me a ton of money.
Hi KT,
Thank you for taking the time to share your positive experiences! We're happy to hear that through uShip, you've been able to connect with independent carriers who provide a more affordable method of transportation for your items than those offered by bigger commercial carriers.
Thank you again for your feedback. We look forward to working with you again in the future!
Everybody Sorry to say this, I had a Very bad and poor experience with this company Just because me and my brother have two separate accounts there saying only one is allowed per household which he does not even live with me and because of this they went in an suspended our account saying we "violated the policy". And now got an email: We have made the decision to remove your account at this time. We will not be able to reinstate your account and Member Support will not be able to discuss your suspension over the phone. Per the terms of our User Agreement: 18. Right to Suspend or Remove Users.
While not exactly on time (not surprising for a 1,600 mile trip!), my driver was very responsive to all my inquiries. As he had a challenge, or two, along the way, he communicated and was very pleasant. This was a high end sports car and he handled with care. Thank you!
Don't pay any advance moreover ask them there physical address as google is showing 205 e riverside drive Austin tx but they are not there and how come they have not update there address, it's a question and not even telling on the support email
uShip is a worldwide online transportation marketplace connecting those that need things shipped to those who do the shipping. In minutes you can create a free listing to have your item(s) shipped, choose to let potential transporters bid on your shipment or view estimates.
People and businesses use uShip because it’s easy and affordable to price, book, and ship everything from cars to cranes, freight to furniture, and households to horses—whether it’s going local or long distance.
Our shipping marketplace helps you connect with trusted, feedback-rated service providers of all kinds—large companies, small fleets, single-truck owners and even roadtrippers—that compete for your business and offer extra cargo space at a discount.
Many great companies started in a garage. uShip started in the back of a rent-a-truck. In 2001, Matt Chasen and his then fiancé, Heather, were moving from Seattle to Austin. The 9 ft. Van Matt ordered was sold out, leaving them with an enormous 20 ft. Truck.
Along that 2,500-mile drive, Matt remembered the large family heirloom armoire he’d tried–and failed–to ship a year earlier due to the astronomic shipping cost. That’s when he had his lightbulb moment that he’d become intent on solving: creating a way online to efficiently connect people’s large shipments with empty truck space so both parties win.
Matt would go on to make this his focus at business school, where he met fellow students Jay Manickam and Mickey Millsap. The trio honed the idea, and in 2004, they launched uShip.com.
uShip is based in Austin, Texas, with European headquarters in Amsterdam.
Every 30 seconds a new shipment is listed on uShip worldwide.
