I ordered a filter for an old vacuum cleaner. They listed the filter on their web site using the manufacturer's exact part number. They sent a completely different filter labeled with a different part number in a different size. However, my invoice still showed the manufacturer's part number. I e-mailed them to tell them it was the wrong filter. Their response was the filter was no longer made and to cut the one they sent me to size. I sent them a further e-mail saying not only was the filter the wrong size in dimension, but was too thick to fit in the filter canister so cutting would not work. This e-mail and all follow-up e-mails requesting a refund were completely ignored. And they have no phone number for obvious reasons, since their response to a problem is to ignore you.
Had a very frustrating experience with VacuumsupplyStore that I feel compelled to share. I ordered a cleaning product at 4:00 PM on a weekday and paid via PayPal. As soon as I completed the transaction, I noticed that the order was being sent to my home address in New York, not our winter address in Florida.
I quickly went to their website and sent an email within 10 minutes of placing the order, explaining the situation and providing my Florida address. I asked if they could either change the shipping address or cancel the order so I could reorder with the correct address.
The next day, I received a notification that my order was still being shipped to New York. I immediately reached out to customer service, and their response was utterly disappointing. They told me they were a "small family-owned business" and there was nothing they could do about it. This was despite the fact that I had contacted them immediately after realizing the mistake.
In the end, I lost over $20 on the order and found a much cheaper supplier just by searching Google Shopping — something I should have done from the start.
Very poor customer service, and I won't be ordering from VacuumsupplyStore again.
Needed a small, hard-to-come-by part for an old upright vacuum. Big bucks, but old and not made anymore, so accepted that. Then, got hit with $23 for "shipping". My small brush roller arrived. USPS Ground Advantage shipping, one zone= $8. Taped into a plastic envelope, cost = $1. Single twist of bubble wrap = $1 (generous). Total = $10. What happened to the remaining $13? Pocketed! They also have lousy BBB reviews. Give them a miss.
