Now I'm in doubts whether do it or not! I wonder if these are real people who have so much complaints about the company, or maybe satisfied customers just don't feel like leaving their reviews and the whole page turns out to be negative.
I would like to know if anybody else has had a problem with Virgin Mobile. I have a cell phone which is only used for emergency calls. Service was cut off because they said I did not make a payment of $20.00 to keep service going, even though I have a balance of $381.00 in my account balance. I was told way earlier that I could use my balance to keep service going. Since then after 17 calls to there customer care people they have issued a credit for service until 1/31/2017. Only one problem, they have not turned phone on because now they say tower that supplies service is doing a update. For 3 weeks//. I do not believe them because many other customers would be screaming. I have since then filed with the FCC. We will see. Internet surfing shows a lot of complaints. ADVISE
Great phone if you want to keep your identity a secret - You pay buy buying prepaid cards, you can use a fake email, and they never ask your name when you activate the phone. Its like they don't even want to know you name. I'm thinking whoever uses these phones has something to hide or they are for kids who can't afford a real cell phone plan. Genius idea though.
Up front its easy to use. However helped a friend of mine pay his bill online with them and the interface seems a little to easy to pay a bill to feel comfortable. Just your number and a pin. Maybe its just me.
They took my deposit but couldn't make the date device work. I spent six hours in store trying to get it to work. Now they want to take three months to give me my deposit back. Avoid avoid avoid avoid
I have been a customer with Virgin mobile since 2007 and as of 2012 service and phone quality have been terrible. I have had replacement phones twice the most recent 09/2014.
Replacement is a refurbished phone and i still have issues. Since I paid my bill 09/17/2014 I have not been able to use my phone properly. Shuts down, drops calls, data issues. Couldn't get to two job interviews this week 09/22/2014 due to data issues and could not use google map.
Spoke with a rep today 09/26/2014 and requested another phone different from one i have and they said it could not happen. They said they could send another replacement phone which is a refurbished phone. I also asked for credit towards my next payment and they said no.
I said that I was going to switch to another provider and I was not encouraged to stay.
Well too bad. They seem to be having alot of issues lately which is not good for their business.
I just wanted to top up my cell phone balance. Instead of 1. Cell number 2. Account pin
3. Amount 4. Select payment method. Submit!
YOUR SELECT would NOT!
I've been a customer for years, first under my parents plan, and now under my own. Very affordable, reliable service. Got an iPhone 6 on a 2 year contract for $50! Keep an eye out for...

I had tried to get an account and phone with Virgin Mobile Inner Circle. The online sign up is easy and product delivered fast. I have no issue with that. The pricing seems nice too. However, the customer support is really bad. It turns out my old phone number cannot be moved so I had to cancel the Virgin account. They only have one phone number to contact Customer Service (*******122) and it was just impossible to get through to a human customer service person! There was no option and if you don't actually have a phone number or account number, the automated system will keep hanging up on you. You have to keep calling back, hit any option to get through the first gate and then try to keep hitting "0" hope to get through.
I have to say that most of the low rating goes to their automated system and availability. If you do get through to a live person, they are not terrible. Nice but some don't seem to know how to solve a problem.
I will not recommend you getting a phone with them unless you do it through a store where you can go back and possibly talk to someone about your issue.
It took me almost a week of trying to finally get direction on how to return my new phone. In case anyone needs it, the return address for them is C/O Ingram (I think this is a front company that process their returns): 2675 Reeves Rd, Suite 190, Plainfield, IN *******.
I purchased a Zte smartphone in July 2014. From the beginning it didn't charge correctly, and the battery would die quickly. I called to get a replacing phone. They made me go thru a tedious troubleshooting process, which didn't work. I called again, they were suppose to send me a battery, instead I got a charger in the mail.
Finally, I called again, after two hours on the phone, supposedly I was supposed to receive a replacement phone. That was Nov. 11. I never received the phone. So I called today and they informed me the order wasn't accepted because the 25$ fee that was waived by a supervisor was not accepted. The resolution for today, was that I would received a phone call from the replacement department.
The problem I have is I wasted my time and energy with these people, who still have yet to send me a phone. When I purchased the phone, I was told if anything goes wrong, outside of cracking the screen or water damage, the phone would be replaced free of charge. Since July I've tried to get a replacement phone, they have given me the run around every time. So when they finally had no choice but to replace the phone, all of a sudden there is now a 25 dollar fee.
That is bad business, please do not use virgin mobile, they are like slum lords in phone services.
I have been with VM FOR 9YEARS & THE LAST PAST YEAR THE COVERAGE IS BAD THEY ARE NOT PROVIDING THE SERVICES I PAY FOR I HAVE TO CALL EVERY MONTH WITH AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THEIR SERVICES WOW! TIME TO MOVE ON TO ANOTHER SERVICE
Family phones NOT drug phones - these phones were designed for FAMILIES, so we can control how many minutes the kids use... crazy talk... nobody designs a phone system for drug dealers.
Great products at good pricing. The product was new in sealed box and it is working great till now!. Excellent fulfillment.
I have been without signal for 3 days in an area that is supposed to have excellent signal. I lost service on sunday and called just for them to tell me to turn it off then back on a few times and try the ##*******# that I dialed so many times I now have it committed to memory. Like I hadn't already done all that as well as the usual "virgin mobile is messing up AGAIN. Pull the battery out for 30 seconds" thing. Today was day 3 without signal, which is the day I was told when I called sunday that I would have signal again, so I called again and turned the phone off then on again and dialed the ## number... AGAIN for them to just transfer me to another tech support person who had me do the exact same thing with no success. I was told that they will try on their end to connect it and it should be fine in yet another THREE DAYS and to call back on Friday if it's still not working. I am going to the Cricket store tomorrow to switch and will never use virgin mobile again. I not only would not recommend this company but STRONGLY advise against using their services.
Tip for consumers:
don't
Used virgin mobile for broadband for 3 years, after 4 different USB antennas, and the worst service i gave up, never going back again
Long story short... Virgin Mobile had a plan without contract. Since my Verizon bills were getting up there in price I figured what could I lose? Well, I almost lost my mind with VirginMobile. Service was horrible and I paid close to $300 for phone! I began to see why there was unlimited texting, email, calls, etc. I had little or no service!
I drive back and forth from work on a major road - you've all heard of the Long Island Expressway/495? Well, one reason I have a cell phone is because I need it in case of a breakdown. I either got NO RECEPTION or continued cut-off calls all the time while driving on the LIE. RIDICULOUS AND UNACCEPTABLE.
They thought it was a problem with the phone itself and replaced it with a refurbished one. Nothing changed. Meanwhile - I had no contract BUT had invested $300 in this stupid phone and wasn't able to depend on it. I was in touch with Corporate (Special Customer Representative for Sprint) and after much documentation, telephone calling back and forth and more frustration than I could ever believe, she told me I could just 'leave Sprint/Virgin Mobile' and go somewhere else! She would not provide any kind of reimbursement for the phone so I felt I had to stick with it for a while longer. The phone finally died after just over a year! Totally died! I am now back to Verizon and have my sanity back!
One more thing... I paid monthly thru automatic payment/charged to my credit card. They sent me a message saying I hadn't paid and my account had not yet been charged. I really could not afford to have service turned off so I manually paid the bill myself online. Payment was accepted. A day or so later I got disconnected! They shut down my service and had the audacity to bill me a second time! The woman in the Corporate Customer Service Dept (Annette something or other) told me it was a 'glitch in the system'!
Before getting to the higher level customer service person I was dealing with the 'regular' customer service people and no one spoke good English. Aside from that they must have been in a steel building and all I could hear was voices in the background- making it even more difficult to understand them.
First I ordered a iPhone with huge resistance because its full price no discount really. I FINALLY DECIDED ON THE BUY! So I bought it on the Virgin Mobile site because I realized I could do paypal credit so I could make payments. Once I ordered the phone I was excited till the next day when I went to check up on the order it stated fulfillment_Error so I called to check up on my device they stated i just missed the cut off time on wednesday night so it should arrive monday which seemed odd if I odered wednesday night id make it for thursday get it next day as I paided for right? But they say should arrive monday still no tracking info provided as it still hasent shipped, should ship saturday. Next I call saturday to get my tracking number they look it up there a processing issue. Hasn't shipped but it should arrive monday or tuesday. Sorry about the delay. Monday arrives havent seen any e-mails waiting all day for the phone to arrive then the postman arrive no package just junk mail. So I call to see if it arriving tuesday so I can go get thing done and not waste more time. Call up good old Virgin mobile to find out the phone hasn't shipped yet still but it should arrive Thursday or Friday its now Friday still not here called earlier to cancel my order so I can buy one from Apple store instead. They state they can't cancel my order but admit it hasn't been shipped out and they already took my money, I even paid extra for fast shipping. So i'm feeling robbed here no phone out $929 it doesn't feel right. I open a dispute of payment with paypal lets see what comes of it. I've been lied to every time I call virgin mobile thinking I need to change to a different provider not related to sprint. Worst experience ever.
Tip for consumers:
just dont buy your phones online buy them at target walmart bestbuy or apple they have the worst suport team for their online store.
I don't know anything about their cell phone service, but their broadband2go Wireless internet service is awful. After purchasing two wireless adapters ($40.00each) and a Virgin Mobile MiFi device ($149.00) to enable up to 5 electronic hookups, and ordering an Unlimited service in December for $40.00 a month... no contract. It worked perfectly for all of December and all of January. In January, we were advised that beginning Feb. 15th we would be limited to 5GB per month. No problem there. We were using just a little over 1GB in a month. Then suddenly on Feb 23, we began having big time problems. Our equipment indicated that we were hooked into the internet, but we could not open any websites, mail, etc. For 4 weeks, I spent hours with customer support with them trying to fix the problem They kept me trying for as long as 2 hours a session with no results. I finally took the MIFI device back to Radio Shack and they told me it was defective and gave my a new one. I called customer service to activate the new MIFI, and my computer recognized it, but it didn't work any differently than the old one. So I assumed the problem was with Virgin. I told them that I had to have internet access, and since they could not help me, I was not going to use them any longer. I asked them for a refund for February to March, and they said they could not give me a refund, they could only put the $40 back on my account for a free month of service. I tried to explain that it would be another month of no internet service since they could not fix my problem but they wouldn't budge. So beware. The price for wireless is great, but if you can't use it... not so great.
