Vital Records Certificates

They took my 47 dollars and have done nothing. I thought I was using Vital Chek. It turns out they just fill out an application for you to print and return and they haven't even done that. I asked for a refund via email 2 times with no response I want my money back. I'm about to dispute the charge with my credit card company, but I wanted to give them the ability to make it right first.

Their disclaimer states Vital Records is not affiliated with any government entity. Most likely all they are is an information gathering site. I did not receive any printable page to send a legitimate company. They claim a refund if not happy. Instead you are cast into a never ending roundabout of please complete our fake phishing tool as we need more

For some legal purposes, I needed my mum's death certificate. The customer team was correct, as they were respectful and understood my situation. It's also true that there's a but: the shipping took too much.

Thinking about how to fill out official documents is one of the things that I don't like. Giving a chance to this company for it was a great decision. They double checked my online application to be sure that everything was precise and with no mistakes. Service completely recommended

Since this website was listed on the paperwork to get my child's birth certificate to use a credit card instead of check, I thought this would be credible. It is not! All they do is take your money. Just send the check to the office of vital statistics yourself. That's what you end up having to do anyway. Just cut out losing $60 to these scam artists like I did. Shame on them and the state for providing their information! Should be a 0 star review!

I am so mad at myself for falling for this! This site should not exist! Just get off your butt and go stand in line people! $20 and I would've had my sons birth certificate THAT day... apparently it takes them months!

I was charged $47 for what is a free government form. I am requesting a refund.
I need my father's death certificate to help my 90 year old mother receive VA benefits. These are people who take advantage of the unfortunate.

It a disgrace that some states only use VitalChek as it's source to order important documents (ex. Death certificate) because VitalChek is unable to get the document to you any sooner than over a month. The only phone number they give wastes your time because your on hold for an hour or more just waiting for someone to pick up. Your basically helpless after they take your money. Why can't we just call a county office like a normal business?

This company is an absolute scam and I would avoid them at all costs! There is no contact information to speak with a live representative and all they do is auto-populate a one page application that you can download for free from the the State Department of Health.

They will take your money and then never respond to any requests for additional information. First, I requested some additional details about my order (online of course because there is no phone number) and then once I realized what they were doing, I immediately asked for a refund with no response to either request. If you do happen to use the service by mistake, thinking that it is legit, contact the better business bureau immediately to report them.

This is a worthless company, needs to be shut down. The site states 24 to 72 hrs, but from when? They will take your money in seconds and you have no way to contact them. All of my e-mails to them has came back as undelivered mail. Had to give them a one star rating, I wish I could give them a negative rating like they deserve.

I was looking to replace a lost Birth Certificate so I went on Vital Records thinking that I was purchasing one online.
When I quickly realized that this was only to pay to have someone fill out the form for you, which I can do for free, I immediately emailed them for a refund.
They got back to me right away, and said that my refund had been issued.
I trusted them, only to have them still take out the 49 dollars from my account, plus charge me a 1.47 service fee.
It's been 7 days now, and several emails with nothing but lies.
I am SO disgusted by this company.
They are clearly a scam, and take people's money.
Do not use this company.
They're based in Barcelona, btw!

My daughter is 12 years old and she has never had a birth certificate before. Charlotte was born at home and was taken to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland after she was born. This year, she needed her birth certificate to go to high school. I got it on this site without any problem. I don't know what people had to deal with this company, but I personally had a good experience. I completed the application form from my comfortable couch at home.

We have been waiting 6 weeks for our marriage license. The worst customer service I have ever experienced. We requested a refund last week and it hasn't happened. JUNK! That's about all I have to say.

Don't waste your money this place takes forever to send your birth certificate. I sent in all my doc on March 1 and on March 23 they sent me an email saying My certificate would come at the end of May! I ordered my sons birth certificate from vitalchek and it took 3 business days! I paid the same price and it's the same city! Order from vitalchek they update you on every step. This place is terrible! 3 months is ridiculous! Wish I would have read the reviews before I ordered.

Just go to your vital statistics office and get what you need. Save yourself time and money. Literally all this website did was send me a pre-filled page of my information that I could have easily done. It was misleading. I thought my certificate request was processed through here and sent. It is not. You still have to send it to your state and pay the fees with them. You're literally giving them money for nothing.

Don't waste your money or your time here I've been waiting 3 months now for my birth certificate they can't it find nor the actual dhs that they send just your application too can't find it either. Now they are telling me I can't get a full refund. If your going to request a new birth certificate you don't even need to do the application that's why it cost 120 something. I highly recommend you actually go to the state dhs website and order just your birth certificate from there will just cost you anywhere between $25-40 bucks. That what I had to do you just have a wait a little bit. Please don't waste your time with these people they even blocked my number so that I could stop calling but soon as I called private I got right through to them. They lied and told me they didn't block my number.

This is scam, they do not do anything apart from generating pdf form. Total waste of money.

Initially when navigating site I thought I was on correct site to order birth certificates, but actually they are just collecting information and generating pdf only. You will still need to submit actual form and fee to us gov for you certificate.

No one in there right mind would pay $60.00 for what this company offered. The company does not do anything but mail you a pdf form which is available for free and in addition you will have to pay the real company that actually does the certificates money. This should be illegal. These people are just preying on people.

I've been waiting close to a month with no way to contact this company unless it is by a survey on the bottom. Sent in a couple still have not getting any word back on my birth certificate. Very upset about this now I have to go and try to do it again and get my refund back. Such a waste of time and money!

This is a service that sends instructions on how to go about requesting records. They do not request records on your behalf, and their fee(s) do not include the cost of records. I placed an order an hour ago and when I received the confirmation email, I fully understood that there would be additional fees from them and/or the state where I was requesting records. I requested an immediate refund, and will edit this once I receive feedback.

This is a "preparation service", not someone who can actually get your birth certificate. DO NOT pay the money- you can go to your State's department of Health and do the same thing for 1/4 of the price. I unfortunately did not see any of these reviews before they got me for my $47, sent me a printout to send into the Health Department, where I still have to pay their fees. Total scam/. -ST

Placed an order on Tuesday 8/4/20 and realized that I only ordered the application and not the birth certificate. I immediately emailed customer service and I was fully refunded on Thursday 8/6/20. Thanks for the great service! No complaints here!

This company takes your money and then they send you an email telling you to both send the prefilled forms and even more money to the state department where the document you need comes from. So in other words, I paid $50.00 for them to locate the correct state form to prefill with info I filled out on their website. That's it. You do the rest, including paying additional fees to that state department and mailing it all. I feel duped. I have ordered copied of my birth certificate in the past where you paid them to do all the work and then it's mailed, but it must have been a similarly named company and I forgot. That's my fault, but this particular company is expensive for basically doing nothing but providing the correct form. You would be better off calling around and/or finding the form online and filling it out yourself. You'll save 25-50 bucks.
