Just the tip of the iceberg > Built-in issues; like, lots of 1X1 gifs with no alt text nor access to the needed files to repair it. I spent a couple years trying to get the site to work properly and learned a lot about html, css, api, javascript and more, instead of making sales. Website loaded slow and had a terrible mobile interface. The bounce rate was through the roof. I switched to a better host (which would probably be any). If you aren't a huge company ready to fork out $1000s of dollars for issues that shouldn't be there in the first place, this is NOT for you! Their "customer service" is a joke, the only answer to most questions? "Here's our SEO department" (with $5000 "solutions"). New at ecommerce? Steer away.

VOLUSION IS PROMOTING CON-ARTIST WEB DEVELOPERS! THEY "RECOMMEND" PRO'S SUCH AS MAK DIGITAL DESIGN, BUT THESE "EXPERTS" PAY FOR THE PRIVILEGE TO BE PROMOTED! We were double charged by MAK Digital and took the case to Burlington County Court in NJ where a judgement was made in our favor. On many occasions I tried to bring this to the attention of the team at Volusion and received underwhelming sympathy. This company should not be recommended because they (specifically the owner Mary and her husband Drew) ARE CROOKS!

I'm sure my experience may not be the norm, but here goes. I signed up for the free trial. I encountered numerous problems in creating my site. Although the support staff was very good and trying to assist, I think they too probably thought something must be amiss. The final straw was when I tried to create the "contact us" page. It took over 4 hours, even with utilizing the support staff. I ended up having to write the html myself (with help from the staff) but often wondered if this was true of everyone. At one point during my week long attempt to build my simple site, one of the support staff suggested that it would overcome the problem once I purchased the plan. So I did. I paid $121 but this did not fix any problems. Finally one of the staff figured out why I was having such difficulty but only to run up against further problems. I was still within the free trial so I figured I would be reimbursed if I cancelled. Wrong. Now, not only did I incur this loss, but I am unable to log back in to try and get them to credit me (because I had cancelled.) Again, I suppose this has not been everyone's experience, but I gave up with Volusions and went elsewhere.

Volusion and their subsidiary credit card processor defrauded my business out of over $40,000 USD.

They had identified us as a smaller company that was dependent upon monthly revenue in order to make payroll and purchase inventory. They literally stole the money right from my company bank account using a fraudulent chargeback, then started to withhold all sales revenue until I had no choice but to close the business.

The only money we had to pay attorneys to fight them they had already stolen, and by cutting off our revenue stream, they ensured that there would be no legal recourse for their criminal activities.

Volusion is a company with a sleazy culture, that is willing to defraud and steal from its own customers in order to make their own ends meet when hard-up for cash, and/or satisfy their own unbridled greed.

Their chargebacks were entirely without basis, as was their theft of all sales revenue following their chargeback fraud. All of our bills owed to Volusion were paid on-time and in-full. They had no justification for what they did to my company that I spent half a decade building and was dependent upon to support myself and my family.

The screenshots were courtesy of the Wayback Machine. They prove that the website in fact existed between 2011 and 2014, and that it was "powered by" Volusion.

The company signs you up easily, all through Volusion, then when you are ready to cancel (due to poor product and worse customer service), confirms you have "canceled your order with Volusion" only to continue billing you ~$63 for months. When you contact them about continuing to bill post cancellation, they inform you that you have to double cancel through two different parts of their company, and they are going to bill you again, and then charge you an additional $99 to stop the additional billing. Commitment length (unmentioned when you sign up) is 3 years. The product did not perform in the first place. Customers trying to purchase on mobile would get an error page, even though mobile capability is part of the service you are paying for. Several customers reached out to me informing me of the problem when they were trying to purchase and I ultimately lost their business. I informed Volusion and no efforts were made to resolve the issue. It persisted as a flaw in the product till the end.
Password change is required, but there is a bug with the process, so every time you are required to change your password you get locked out and can only gain access by customer service letting you back in, which requires a ticket process which takes several days, up to a week, and rendered my site unaccessible during critical Cyber Monday weekend.
If you are considering a merchant site, BigCommerce and Square provide a better product with better business practices. Complaints for bad business are aplenty if you look up Volusion on the BBB. Save your sanity, save your wallet, save your business: don't do it.

I ppurchased the Volusion Business service today after speaking with a rep about the ease of builidng the site and the amazing customer service.
I did nto experience this and after 4 frustrating hours of glitches in the site and
Amazingly difficult navigation, I decided to cancel the service.
Upon doing so I was sent an email confirming the service would be up for 30 days and I would be charged for the service ($99)
I was outraged that a company who had misrepresented their service and was unable to reitify my problems easily was going to nickel and dime me longer
In addtion to the UNSEEN charges onine for services.

A customer service (?) agent seemed very happy to tell me there was nothing he could do to reverse the charges, even though the site offered a 14day trial offer
For FREE.
The worst customer service I have had online.
