Absolutely awful experience with these cowboys. They accept my Revolut card to book the car and pay the deposit, then when I arrive at my destination they claim that they can't accept a "online banking institution" card and refuse to refund my money. The customer service agent was incredibly rude, refused to identify himself and was very unprofessional. I have had to chase this up several times to even get an update a week later. Book direct with the rental agencies and Avoid avoid avoid wisecars!

DO NOT, under any circumstances, use this company. Their 'service' is less than worthless. It is actually a hinderance to travel. We thought we had a guaranteed reservation, showed up at the airport and were told there are no cars. They have several reasons why they can't refund the money, so when I mentioned that we would deal with it through our credit card company the representative said, "Oh, you don't want to do that." When I asked why not, I was told that in the case of a forced credit chargeback, the service agents will stop trying to help or communicate. That's ok. They aren't really helping or communicating anyway. WHAT. A. NIGHTMARE.

We used no products or service. Our credit card was charged, but we received no rental car. The representative at the Thrifty rental counter said that there were no cars available. Wisecars still has our money and we have no rental car.

This company charges fees that are not there. You pay an "airport recovery fee" for a company that is located 5 km from the airport and that does not have a shuttle service or office at the airport. You also pay 2x the price you book because there is no insurance, even though I paid $126 deductible protection. I call such people scammers, the message is to stay away.

I rented a car for my holidays through Wisecars as it was much cheaper than going directly with the car rental company. The procedure was easy, important information was highlighted. I was a bit worried about the pick up, but it turned out just as easy! I showed the voucher, signed the papers with the supplier and went on the trip! I would definitely recommend.

This company really does seem to be based around fraudulent business practices. I can't understand how they can be permitted to remain in operation. We prepaid and we not permitted to take a vehicle because of some vague violation of Wisecars policy. However, we rented through a 3rd party and so were not provided with these policies which are different than other company's standard policies. We have spend hours trying to get this worked out but we are just getting the runaround. I've cried many tears over our treatment. FRAUDULENT!

Arrived Zihautanejo with voucher for $603.00. That was odd since I paid $433.00. Went to Hertz with the "non-refundable voucher and was told reservation didn't exist, wasn't in their system and that the "supplier " was fictitious. Run from this company. They are crooked.

I have called for cancellation a week before and they have not canceled my booking.
When I got voucher email then I called them so representative explain that you only asked about cancellation procedure and decline to give me my pre-charged amount.
They always explain their rigid 48 hr policy.
I explain the reason why I am not traveling due to bad health condition. But at end of call they declined to give my refund.
Not understanding the costumer 's situation.
Will never book car from this website!

They simply made me pay 680$ for a car that the supplier did not want to give me without me paying 1200$ extras because the insurance tat Wisecars gives you is actually fake and non existent.

They obviously did not want to refund me, even after that i did reject the contract with the supplier and did not take the car.

A total scam, stay away from them if you do not want to feel stupid and have your holidays ruined

I used them in Kauai, Hawaii to rent a car from the airport. They put me on to Dollar Car, the company that provided me the car. I had to send Wisecar reminders to provide me the contract which was sent only 24 hours instead of 48 hours. I stood in the queue for nearly 2 hours as I had already paid for the car. Wisecar could have advised that I could go through the paperwork by registering with Dollar on the internet. This would have saved me waiting in the queue. I would not use them again. I suggest that go to Dollar directly and register with them while on the islands of Hawaii.
They seem to have self rating system as I could not add this review on their website

Contact Dollar or Avis or Enterprise as rental company directly when in the islands of Hawaii

We would like to clarify that at our company, Wisecars, we strive to provide accurate information regarding rental costs to ensure transparency for our customers. While we do require a deposit to secure your reservation, the remaining balance, including taxes and fees, is typically paid directly at the rental booth or gate upon vehicle pickup.

If the voucher is shown at the pick-up, you will only be charged the estimated ''paid locally'' amount for the taxes and fees. Usually, any other extra charges are for additional products/insurance that the customer agrees to add at the counter. You are not charged again for the rental days which were already pre-paid.

I prepaid them $377 for 2 days car, when i got to the car rental company they say they don't have any car for me.
When i called back to wisecars they said that they don't want to refund me even those i have cancellation documents from the car rental company.
They don't answer me from then.
Purely steal my money!

I reserved a car for a week, paid in advance. I wanted my son-in-law to drive and there was only room for one person, so I made him the driver. When we got to Thrifty, sil did not have a physical credit card. They would not take the number, would not change it to me, would not take a debit card, would not take cash. They said we had to get a refund from Wisecars, but they refused, saying that we were considered a "no show" because we did not have a form of payment they would accept. I'm out over $500.

Nonetheless, I was charged $200 because the car vendor said I was a "no show." I even provided email evidence that I had cancelled in advance, yet the company didn't give me a refund. Don't ever use Wise Cars, they are terrible and make you pay for your mistake, instead of taking responsibility for their mistakes.

I'm truly sorry to hear about the frustrating experience you had and the unfortunate circumstances around your reservation cancellation. It sounds like there was a miscommunication between you and our representatives.

I have checked your reservation and can see that you contacted us on the 10th of June requesting a modification, not a cancellation. We offered you another vehicle (as the original car that you booked was not available for given dates) and asked you if the car class was suitable for you. After this, you stopped responding to our emails so we thought you wanted to leave the booking as it was.

The next time you contacted us it was 24 days after the pick-up asking to cancel the reservation, when the free cancellation window had already expired. Unfortunately, the car rental company has already taken payment for the No-Show fee due to not cancelling this order before the cancellation window expired and therefore, no refund can be issued in this case.

Unlike the rest of the industry, you are charged for your car rental even if you NEVER PICK UP THE CAR.
I flew into Newark airport and attempted to pick up my rental to drive to a family wedding. I was told that my reservation had been made for the week before and had therefore expired. I would be charged regardless.
(I made the reservation over the phone and had no way to prove the error was not my own. I did not proofread my confirmation, a mistake that cost me over $1,000 dollars.)

I then tried to rebook a car at the counter, and the rate they quoted me was $900 more than the rate they were charging online!

Ripping people off may make sense in the short term, but is no way to build a company brand.

Would never use in the future.

Tip for consumers:
Suggest you take your business elsewhere. If you are unable to pick up your car for any reason, you will still be charged.
100% inflexible no refund policy.

I am really sorry to hear you could not pick up the car. The reason why our cancellation policy is so strict is because we are still charged by the car rental company if the car was picked up or not.

Please note that the supplier also has a No-Show policy stated on their Terms and Conditions (most of the suppliers) and they won't refund you past the cancellation window/pick-up time even if you made a pre-paid booking directly with them.

We were planning an out of state memorial service for my mother in law. I went online to rent a car and when I realized we wouldn't arrive till the following day, I hit the back button to change the date which apparently changed the month also. Wisecars makes you wait for the confirmation so I did not see the error. My disabled Veteran husband contacted them and they refused to give us a refund or to change o ur reservation to August for the service. The Customer Service agent actually laughed about it a n d said he wasn't getting a car or a refund. They are thieves and have extremely poor customer service.

I had a number of questions that needed assistance from the Wisecars customer support team. Their agent answered all my questions and she helped me change the pick-up time when my flight was delayed. Their customer support was top notch and their website was very user-friendly. I will use Wisecars again!

We have made multiple call, written emails, and still haven't received a refund for a car rental we never got. The rental company was out of cars, so had to rent elsewhere. We even had a 3 way conference call with wisecars and the rental company who verified cars were not available, and still no refund.

Scam artists. Cancelled a rental on me because they would not accept my government issued drivers license when I went to pick it up. They insisted I would be refunded my $1700. After a week, I still hadn't been refunded so I called back and they said processing the refund was just taking extra time. So I waited a month, and called back, still no refund. They said keep waiting. I disputed the charge on my credit card to resolve the fraudulent charges. Six months later they snuck the $1700 charge back on my card, without contacting me. Reporting the fraud again, and writing to BBB. Not much more we can do to fight these corporate crooks, but I'm trying.

After checking your reservation, it seems Thrifty refused your documentation due to the fact that you presented a temporary license which expired before the scheduled drop-off date. It is stated on our Terms of Service that if you fail to present the necessary documentation at the pick-up, your reservation will be considered a No-Show and no refund will be issued.

As we understand that this is a very big inconvenience, we contacted the car rental company asking them to waive any No-Show fees so we could refund you. Unfortunately, they informed us they would charge us according to our contract.

We sincerely apologize for this issue but we cannot issue a refund in this case.

I booked a car in Maui over Thanksgiving months ahead. After the fires there all the prices had dramatically reduced. I asked Wisecars to cancel so I could rebook something cheaper and they offered instead a much better rate that I could not match elsewhere. I checked this was an all inclusive rate and they confirmed in writing that it was and there was nothing to pay at collection. When I tried to collect the car Thrifty said there was $350 to pay and after we argued for a while they said they would match the quoted price and I collected the car, thinking we were good. Of course when I returned the car Thrifty just billed my credit card $350 and their support team were not interested to help me. I went back to Wisecars and raised a case. I took them 8 weeks to complete it but I got a refund for the over charge. There are plenty of issues with car rental companies and although I could have preferred not to have any issue I am impressed with Wisecars honoring the rate they quoted and will happily book with them in the future.

Tip for consumers:
Ensure you get the amount at pickup in writing. This is what they honored for me.
