We only needed to change the drivers name and they would not let us. The driver lost his license and the other adult wanted to drive but they would not allow it and they kept the money!

Cancellation headache
October 21, 2022

We had to cancel within the 48-hour deadline. Despite extenuating circumstances, they insisted on retaining a 20% cancellation fee. I asked for a supervisor review. I was later informed that a supervisor did review the case and preferred to stick with their rigid policy rather than consider their customer's situation. They neglected to inform me of the supervisor's involvement. They care more about claiming every penny than about customer service. They lost me as a future customer.

After checking your booking, you contacted us once the 48h cancellation window had already expired. Considering that this was a medical emergency, we agreed to refund you for your booking minus the No-Show fees that were already charged to us by the supplier. The refund represented more than 80% of the amount you paid to us.

The reason we have a 48h cancellation policy is because after this window, the supplier takes payment for the booking. We think this is a fair resolution as this was a violation of our Terms of Service and the only amount kept was the fees that were already charged to us by the supplier.

I apologize if our service did not meet our expectations but we have a special procedure for these cases that cannot be broken on the basis of a customer's satisfaction.

THE WORST COMPANY EVER

These guys gladly accepted my debit card as a method of payment, and until I finalize the transaction there was no VISIBLE sign that I had to have a credit card at the pick up location. THIS IS A F** SCAM. I did not get the car and NO REFUND. They took 2 weeks to tell me that I was not going to have my money back.
This is the reason why the business have so many bad reviews online EVERYWHERE. I was absolutely naive in not checking this business reviews before.

DO NOT RENT or insert your BANK info in their website. They do not have good customer service or will support your business with them.

These are scammers

This company charges fees that are not there. You pay an "airport recovery fee" for a company that is located 5 km from the airport and that does not have a shuttle service or office at the airport. You also pay 2x the price you book because there is no insurance, even though I paid $126 deductible protection. I call such people scammers, the message is to stay away.

Please note the Deductible Protection is an additional coverage that covers up to 1000 USD of your deductible, not the insurance itself.

Dreadful

Dreadful. No car available upon collection despite booking - left high and dry at the airport. Took 2 weeks to obtain my refund after perusing it further through bank dispute. Kept being fobbed off by Wisecars. Avoid at all cost!

Do not use this company. Tell you one price increases buy 400% when you pick it up. Yes they will look into this when you question. You could be dead by the time this happens. Scam artists.
Wait, whoops a reply via another review. Lies all lies. Did I choose to pay and extra $120USD for airport pickup where I had booked to pick up, NO another $79.00 for recovery fee (already had taken insurance.). They don't even give you the right of reply.

Wisecars attempted to help this customer through the Sitejabber Resolution Center, but the customer did not respond

I am not able to find a reservation with your name. Wisecars lets customers compare different car rental companies deals and does not alter prices after a reservation has been done- the suppliers are in charge of car rental pricing and by our agreement have to follow the agreed booking prices and terms.
As we can not identify the reservation sadly we are unaware of what exactly happened here, the extra products, fees and taxes charged at the location are managed by the car rental companies not Wisecars. Please contact us directly.

Nightmare - fraudulent

This company really does seem to be based around fraudulent business practices. I can't understand how they can be permitted to remain in operation. We prepaid and we not permitted to take a vehicle because of some vague violation of Wisecars policy. However, we rented through a 3rd party and so were not provided with these policies which are different than other company's standard policies. We have spend hours trying to get this worked out but we are just getting the runaround. I've cried many tears over our treatment. FRAUDULENT!

The car rental companies have their own terms and have the right to refuse a vehicle if the terms are not followed. We do agree that sometimes this can be a lot of information and that's why we highlight the most important terms during booking and send out emails with highlighted important information. We understand that reading through all of the terms can take a while and that's why we advise giving a call to our customer support team so they could once again highlight the most important parts.

DO NOT USE
September 5, 2022

Had to change airplane ticket due to an emergency, Budget told me no problem for the refund. However, WISECARS WILL CRIMINALLY KEEP YOUR MONEY. First, they will send you to the company you rented the car from. After Budget told me to go back to Wisecars, customer service will read their 'voucher terms and conditions' when you call back. They will just keep your money and will not listen to anything you have to say. "Supervisors/managers cannot come to the phone..."

DO NOT USE THEM. Just go direct and save yourself some headaches. Wish I saw all these negative reviews before I booked my car...

I've been fighting with Wisecar for about a month now. I was charged an additional $389.76 by Budget Car Rental after returning my car. No response from Budget, just a charge which I didn't even know about until I checked my credit card bill. When I called Budget, I was told Wisecar didn't pay them the full amount per the contract, so they charged my card on file. The advised me to call Wisecar. My car rental was for $1481. 11, so it was already a pricey amount.

To date, I have over 30 emails over the past 30 days that I've been going back and forth with them on. I've filled out paperwork for a refund (submitted several weeks ago), provided them receipts and ample documentation to help them understand what occurred (which seems to be fairly simple and straightforward). My case supposedly has been escalated to management, but no one has gotten back to me. I've made over half a dozen calls into them to try and resolve things too. I typically do a fair amount of research on an organization and I kick myself for not reading the negative reviews on this company vs. just reading a few of the positive reviews and looking at the overall score they had on Google.

Please do yourself a favor and read a few of the negative reviews. It will save you a ton of time and headaches later.

I would recommend just booking directly with the actual car company at the airport and avoid using a 3rd party vendor.

Since I know Wisecar loves to occasionally respond to these, with their recommendation to email their fantastic support email (*******@wisecar.com) for help, my Wisecar Booking Reference number is *******. Feel free to reference the ample notes you have on file prior to responding.

SCAM! Bad Business Practices!

Scam, scam, scam... Yes, they have an "out" with their vague fine print that says if you don't comply with whatever the local rental agency requires, you lose your deposit. There is NO way to know what the local firm requires so they can require a card type you don't have or create new fees you never expected! Oh, and fine print fo the local agency - still not specific - sent less than 48 hours of travel! Wisecars does not care. Do NOT use this agency! Note: they will reply to negative reviews stating that all of this is in their terms and conditions. I reiterate: their terms and conditions are intentionally vague to protect them and screw the consumer when the local agency creates more fees or requirements that are unexpected.

I used them in Kauai, Hawaii to rent a car from the airport. They put me on to Dollar Car, the company that provided me the car. I had to send Wisecar reminders to provide me the contract which was sent only 24 hours instead of 48 hours. I stood in the queue for nearly 2 hours as I had already paid for the car. Wisecar could have advised that I could go through the paperwork by registering with Dollar on the internet. This would have saved me waiting in the queue. I would not use them again. I suggest that go to Dollar directly and register with them while on the islands of Hawaii.
They seem to have self rating system as I could not add this review on their website

BEWARE OF THE SCAM.

This company is a straight scam. I attempted to rent a car from them for a few days for $535. After paying and going to pick up the rental I was told that I had to pay an additional $600, which was never mentioned. I refused to pay and they refused to refund me my $535 back. I read other reviews from this company after this had happened and that is a common scam they run on people.

Was told we had our reservation for $550 and that no other person would have to provide a credit card for the rental. However, upon getting the rental not only were we required to provide another credit card (that of the driver) but it was then charged over double what we had already paid for the rental. Customer service told us "go check with the rental company" and that there is nothing they can do but sometimes this does happen and they apologize. Will not be using them again and do not recommend anyone use them either.

As an update on Wisecars they're also now ignoring my complaint about the car at Fox Rental not being the car I reserved, or up to standard. Even though Wisecars took my money to hook me up with Fox Rental, their staff are telling me to contact Fox Rental myself over the issue! Can you believe the audacity of that? It's a company they use and charge me for using them, yet when there's issues they tell me to sort it myself as they say Fox haven't replied. No "We'll chase it up sir" but instead "We've had no reply, try contacting them yourself". It's a truly disgusting way to treat a customer whose money you've taken and shows complete disregard for the satisfaction of the customer.

Avoid this company because as many reviews on many sites show, if you have any issues with your rental they just don't want to know because they have your money. Our entire trip to take a handicapped lady to Disney World was ruined because of the financial difficulties they put us in and they just don't care.

Do Not Rent from Wisecars.com

Do not use this car rental agency. They will not stand by you when their supply chain fails to meet your needs. Pay a few dollars more because you truly get what you pay for folks.

All rates and policies are subject to variation from company to company, and each company's performance is cloaked behind the veil called Wisecars. If you were to use this site effectively, you'd need to sleuth every rental option with a fairly specific Google search to understand what you're getting yourself into.

Our flight was late to arrive, and the rental car company decided to close before allowing us to pickup the vehicle. Apparently, for this branch of this company, this was par for the course. Neither company would help support my family as we were stranded at an unknown airport in an unknown place in the middle of the night. No options to get a car, and no refunds.

WISECARS is WORST RENTAL COMPANY I ever tested since 30 years.

THEY ARE SO FAR AWAY FROM CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NEVER HELP EVEN PROBLEM COMES FROM THEMSELVES.

1) I was paid for a Citroen C-Elysée and they gave me MANDATORILY a Fiat Egea Sedan 1.4 Fire 95 HP which one is never equal to Citroen.

2) I returned it 2 days earlier reason of planned meeting canceled and they never care this. NIO REFUND

3) They cut 500 EURS deposit for 3 daily rental and still holding.

They are terrible and dishonest. They are thinking that customers are moron. No we are not.

Dont ignore my warning and always prefer big companies what i always did before. Otherwise your money and time will be stolen by this kind little
Trapped companies.

I reserved a car for a week, paid in advance. I wanted my son-in-law to drive and there was only room for one person, so I made him the driver. When we got to Thrifty, sil did not have a physical credit card. They would not take the number, would not change it to me, would not take a debit card, would not take cash. They said we had to get a refund from Wisecars, but they refused, saying that we were considered a "no show" because we did not have a form of payment they would accept. I'm out over $500.
