“My own experience was perfect!”

I do not question the negative experiences that many other consumers have reported, but my own recent experience was very different from theirs. I ordered very hard to find Boulder Canyon potato chips with only sea salt added and I received them promptly. The bags were intact and the chips were fresh (with a "Best if used by date" more than three months from the date I received the package. World Market provided a valid tracking number so that I could track the shipment. All in all, I found the company to be reliable and trustworthy.

“Don't Apply For Their Credit Card if You Think You Will Receive an Incentive...Nope!”

I applied for a World Market credit card because I was planning on purchasing large ticket items and the incentive they were offering at time of application was 20% off my first order. The good news-when I applied they emailed me the 20% off code to use. When I finally received my credit card in the mail the incentive expired. I called to see if World Market would make good on it and they refused. I won't be purchasing from World Market and am cancelling their credit card.

Placed my first order before the holidays, it arrived quickly, all items wrapped well and arriving as expected: total of 50+ items! I need to post a picture of the huge boxes that showed up near my door. :). Overall I am very impressed, and will order again. Also, they have great perks to members, so make sure you enroll into their saving program.

I'm still waiting on my chairs that were ordered 4/28/20 and supposedly shipped 5/4/20. I have tried numerous times to contact WM to no avail. They say to use chat online but there is never anyone available. Very frustrating since they have already charged me and I have already paid for them because I don't carry a balance on my card. WM seems to be struggling, at this time. Where is management? Extremely disappointed!

I ordered so many items on their after the holidays sale, 2 weeks after my order confirmation, I get emails almost everyday for an item that is being cancelled because it's not available! Why can't this store update their online stock so consumers don't waste their time ordering and why can't you process orders as soon as the customer orders so don't loose track of items that are not available instead of waiting of weeks! Previous orders also arrives broken or missing parts and it's so hard to carry packages back to ups stores because there's not a lot drop off centers! Worse of the worse!

We order 2 (two) 24 inch snowflake paper lanterns and got paper cups! Called the "customer service" number and it is an endless loop of advertisements and no one is ever going to answer the phone. This is not a reputable company. Refuted the charges on the credit card. Let Visa deal with them.

Terrible customer service. They sent a wrong item on my recent order of 5/11/2020. I sent an email to see if they wanted it returned (item was of low value) and if they would send the correct item. As of today (6/4/2020) I have sent 5 emails with no response. Instead I've been given 5 different case numbers each one promising a 24 hour response. I have not received any response. Tried to call and was placed on hold for over 40 minutes so I finally hung up. I've been a customer for many years but no more!

Although World Market's website offers a good variety of inventory, they fail to deliver. I placed an order for multiple items. Four days later I receive an email that some items were unavailable and my entire order was cancelled. I will no longer order from their website; poor experience.

Tip for consumers:
Shop at another online site, or if you are determined to shop at World Market do so only if you can access a brick and mortar location. Their online site is not ready for primetime.

They did not delivery items in my order after some were unavailable.

I ordered a $16 candle. FedEx shows it delivered, but I didn't get it. I called to let WM know so it could be traced. They said the only thing I can do is call the police department and report it stolen, then send them the actual police report? What the heck? Call the police department to come to my house to report a $16 item? Are you kidding me? Seriously. FedEx can't track it, either because of the method of shipping WM uses. I'm not going to call the police department. I'm not going to waste their time, so now I'm out the $. How horrible is that? BE CAREFUL when ordering online. Know you will have to file a police report if you don't get it. What a JOKE!

Tip for consumers:
BEWARE if making a purchase online.

They charge for shipping yet they take 2 weeks, a month to ship product. Terrible service. I haven't ordered from them in a while. Now I remember why. Terrible products. Umbrella's don't fit umbrella frames. Warped wood product. Just awful.

Been a loyal customer for years, to the extent we ordered all outdoor patio and porch furniture from them.
A week after placing the order on line, started receiving emails that they were out of stock first on one item, then 2, then 3. Called to seek for alternatives. Wait time over 1 hour each time I had to call. Received further notices of out of stock items. It took 2 months to receive the first orders. Once everything arrived, it was far from what we originally had in mind and decided to return it all. It took 4
Calls, 4 weeks to get them to pick up. It took 6 calls/ 7 weeks to get a refund. Supervisors don't return calls and hide behind Customer Service staff. Customer Service staff could care less. They won't be seeing us around any more.

World market in Livingston New Jersey probably has the most filthy bathroom I've ever been in. You people should be ashamed of yourselves. It is absolutely disgusting in there I felt like I was in the middle of a ghetto at a roadside gas station. It's nasty

Terrible customer service! Received a couch with a huge gash in it. Did not hear back from customer service until 2 months later offering a discount. I explained I did not want a discount just the item returned as it's been a huge inconvenience sitting in my place. They told me they would be sending seko to come pick up my couch and that they would reach out to me in 3-5 days. Today was day 5. No word from the manager or seko. Terrible terrible customer service! Do not order anything from this company. Still have this 500 dollar couch sitting in my hallway waiting to be picked up.

I'm agreeing with everyone else. They advertise free shipping on $49, BUT it's "oversized" it's $10 more. And, not in stock so another $23 to ship. $33 to ship. Customer Service was worthless and contacting the local store it was just sorry, not in stock and they could not request the warehouse to ship to a local store. In fact----this item was not available ANYWHERE in California! She said that when it comes it stock it will be higher priced.

Games, games, games. I purchased a large picture from them for $149. When I peeled off the sticker on the protective corner, it had on it that it was $129. So I got screwed out of $20 from the manufacturers price.

They up prices, not in stock so $33 shipping and won't request it to be delivered to store for pickup.

Not very customer service oriented compa

I did not order the planters, but I kept the large picture that had been marked up $20 from MSRP.

I placed an order for the first time ever with them. 5 of 9 items didn't arrive. Customer representative said that the items were cancelled due to being out of stock (well, they were in stock when I placed the order; and they didn't even bother to send cancellation email). I immediately checked the website, all those cancelled items were in fact in stock. I asked if they can ship it now since I purchased the items
With 15% discount as first time customer and free shipping. They said no and immediately hung up. I'll take my business elsewhere.

World Market sold us a rug and it arrived smeared with grease. We have tried to return the rug but its shipping company, Pilot Freight Services, does not respond to our repeated calls. It is impossible to get Pilot to answer the phone or return a call. World says we are responsible for the cost of the rug even if Pilot fails to pick it up. We regret ever having made this purchase. If you are reading this, buyer beware.

Do not waste your money or your time at World Market. The only reason I shopped here for their Black Friday sale was because I had a gift card. Ordered several things and two weeks after placing it they cancelled due to unavailability. I also didn't realize they cancelled it until I called customer service to check the status of it and the woman told me on the phone. They did not even try to notify me before hand. When on the phone they said they should be able to send me a new gift card in 10-15 business days! Absolutely TERRIBLE!

Their stuff sucks now! Items are no longer from around the world like they used to be. Quality of the items they do have is really cheap and not worth the pricing. So sad that World Market changed so much and I've shopped there for around 15 years! I'm done going there.

For a national company, the communication from World Market is awful. The website had an error message preventing my message from being sent, the customer service menu sent me in circles, and the time frame for dealing with my situation (package did not arrive) was WAY too long. Frustrating.

I ordered several items. They sent me scones instead of my coffee. I have written to them three times and it says on their site that they will get back to you within 24 hours. It's been over three weeks and have yet to hear back from them. I took a chance and called them, after waiting for 57 minutes and being on hold I hung up.

I purchased a pillow for $7.64, but it didn't match when I got it so I returned it. Well they charged me $6.50 to return it! They gave me a refund of only $1.66! What a rip off! I have worked with customer service, shipping and receiving and accounting for over 15 years and this is NOT a practice that a company with good customer service does! I warn you to NEVER order from this company and encourage your friends to buy elsewhere!

I bought a table a year ago and today we just realized that the wood had lumps. I paid 490 dollars for the table. Originally it was 700 dollars. I called chatted with customer service today and explained the issue. They said they couldn´t do anything since the 60 days warranty had expired. I have never seen such a poor service in my life. Do not buy dining tables there. Poor quality, expensive and worse customer service.

They keep saying they will call me back and never do! They cancel my orders without telling me before why and their products came in broken. I stayed on phone with them several times for hours and no help! They are horrible!

Englewood CO: We were ready to buy a table, a sofa and carpet but wanted to sign up for the card for %20 off.The cashier told us that only the manager knew how to do this process. The manager insisted on checking people out and left this poor cashier to sign us up...who didn't know how to do it. We waited 20 minutes for help.The manager ignored us and then disappeared. She finally showed up to say she couldn't help us...we looked at her and then walked out. Will never shop there again

I ordered an item last June from this company. It was to be hand made and showed a votive candle in place. I received an email in August asking if I was still interested because there was a delay. I replied with no, please cancel. It arrive this morning, Jan 7,2015. I called World Market and was told it cannot be returned because it is a craft item. I explained it was supposed to have been cancelled after the delay. He had no record of that, of course. I stated it is different than what was advertised as a votive candle will not fit in the opening of this arch. Makes no difference... not returnable. I am done with World Market! Why ask if I want it returned anyway if they are going to ignore it?

Ordered a couple nightstands online then proceeded to furnish our bedroom with things to complement the nightstands. As the expected arrival date approached, there was no signs they had even shipped when checking the order on their website. Multiple emails and calls produced only vague responses about how they should be shipping any day if they haven't already shipped. Two weeks after ordering, i get an email that my order was cancelled due to it being out of stock. My dealings with them leave the impression that their inventory, logistics, and customer service are run by a bunch of amateurs.

Ordered a mirror but it was returned to them before it ever got to me due to damage. I called and asked for refund. 10 days later didn't get it. Further apparent miscommunication led to multiple calls with a different story from them each time. The staff seems somewhat unprofessional. Between then and now I've received, for some odd reason, 15$ out of 153$ total purchase. On last phone call w/them, the lady rudely counted days from some arbitrary return point and told me that I will get my full refund on "Tuesday". As the Wednesday rolled around and no refund, 28 days after I was charged in the first place, I called my financial institution and disputed the charge. Absolutely terrible experience for online shopping in general :(
