I do not question the negative experiences that many other consumers have reported, but my own recent experience was very different from theirs. I ordered very hard to find Boulder Canyon potato chips with only sea salt added and I received them promptly. The bags were intact and the chips were fresh (with a "Best if used by date" more than three months from the date I received the package. World Market provided a valid tracking number so that I could track the shipment. All in all, I found the company to be reliable and trustworthy.
I applied for a World Market credit card because I was planning on purchasing large ticket items and the incentive they were offering at time of application was 20% off my first order. The good news-when I applied they emailed me the 20% off code to use. When I finally received my credit card in the mail the incentive expired. I called to see if World Market would make good on it and they refused. I won't be purchasing from World Market and am cancelling their credit card.
My online order of May 29 was missing an item that I was charged for anyway. Since that day, I have emailed them twice, no response. I have also been calling their so called customer service number every day, at various times, no one ever answers the phone. Stayed on the phone waiting for as long as 25 minutes. Today, I tried the Chat option, and I got back "No agents available". If they're using the COVID 19 as an excuse, then they should not be taking online orders, if they incapable to have employees.
Non-existent service, but they were sure quick to charge my credit card. I am filing a dispute with my credit card. This company is terrible!
I am in the middle of putting together a 6 piece patio sectional from World Market. As per the past 2 out of 3 previous experiences, this is just crap. The holes don't match up with each other (on 2 of the 3 pieces I have tried so far) and I'm ready to send it back or give to Salvation Army. I just walked into the house and told the "boss" to NEVER order furniture from them again. I had the same experience with dining chairs we bought and patio furniture I helped a friend put together. Keep in mind, I am extremely handy having put together a 10x14 shed kit, running electric, framing additions, installed a radiator in my car, etc. If I'm struggling with their foreign junk, you will too. Dirt cheap, though - you get what you pay
WorldMarket are an excellent company to do business with. I have bought from them for over 1 years and never had a problem with a return or damaged item. Sometimes I get items within 2 days. Always helpful customer service waiting to help in any way they can. I love this company and will be ordering additional furniture from WorldMarket in the near future!

I ordered a sofa for my daughter but when it arrived she was out of state with her gravely ill grandfather. Her best friend was able to meet the movers but they refused to help her move the sofa into the apartment. It was in a very large and heavy box and difficult to move but they literally dumped it on the doorstep and left. When I called world market I was told it somewhere in the fine print somewhere buried in their website is a disclaimer that they will not move furniture past your front door unless you call and ask them first. When I asked how I would've known to do that, she had no reply. Will not order from them again.
I ordered bathroom items (bath mats and shower curtain) online. The items came within expected delivery window in two shipments.
I've read a lot of bad reviews after I placed my order online. So, I wanted to leave a positive review. The items I ordered were perfect and came in a timely manner.
I ordered something on sale and they charged me the sale price and full price. I had two separate charges come out of my account. They end up charging me over $40 for two 2 packs of soup mix! What a rip off! I would give this company 0 Stars!
Black & White Diamond Rug. SKU#******* is a dreadful piece of expensive product. It looks appealing, but the functionality along with the upkeep of maintaining a clean rug simply isn't worth the $300 spent. Completely overated.It sheds horrendously all over my hardwood floors every day. Worst than a fury animal that sheds a lot. Totally would not recommend it.
World market is just as what you would expect, slow and untimely, crap quality, no standards of their items. I ordered some thick stemless glasses over a week ago and they still haven't shipped out. Before that I went to the store to see what kind of things they sell. Just a disappointment all around. Lesson to self and anyone willing to listen, it is not worth doing business with this slow business.

Ordered a couch online and was told it would take 3-4 weeks to make, then ship.
Took over 4 weeks, the was sent out directly by manufacturer with only plastic cover protection.
Arrived at a local delivery service damaged (fabrics dirty and metal Frame was scratched): delivery service called me regarding the condition of the couch and recommended not to accept the item and returned the item to the manufacturer.
Why am I so upset?
Evidently, World Market knew that the item was being returned due to damage, never contacted me (I contacted them to advise that I did not wish to wait another 4 weeks + for another couch and to cancel my order), and now they are dragging their feet to issue a refund to my credit card until the item arrives back and the return is "processed" by the manufacturer.
Total BS as I never had the item to begin with and they knew it was damaged, not to mention the inconvenience of waiting over month, only to be back looking for a couch again.
According to World Market, you have 24 hrs. To cancel an order. I cancelled within 20 hrs. But was told they couldn't cancel it. Now I'm stuck waiting to hear if and when my order will ship. It's been a week of phone calls and emails with no answers. And after reading some of the issues others had, I may never get my order. If they take my money, I will take legal action. This is worse than Walmart, and that's as bad as it gets.

After 4 calls with support. I'll hopefully get my refund after a month of them saying the ottoman and was on its way.
Side note they will offer 40% off for bad experiences and for you to keep the item. I rather have my full couch with the ottoman I ordered and pillows that are intact.

Ordered two chairs online and one was damaged on delivery. Quality was so poor we returned both. No one answers the customer service line and no one responds to email. AND NO REFUND even though the items were returned. No way to reach anyone. Used to shop here but will absolutely not give them anymore more business!
If you are reading reviews, you might notice that people who shop in the store are in love with World Market and the people who shop there online only give one star because you cannot give less. This is because managers at physical stores are very particular about who they hire and what they allow. Customer service is at the forefront of their mind at all times.
Shopping online? That all goes away. You do not have a helpful expert by your side explaining the pros and cons of the particular wood type of that table that you like. You do not have the advice of experienced designers who can help you achieve your vision for the space you are furnishing. World Market is a legit great company with great product, making offerings at a fraction of the cost of similar things at Pottery Barn, etc... but... you have to go into the store. They haven't figured out how to do Online very well just yet...
I ordered a coffee table from WM specifically because I wanted something easy to put together. This table had two pieces- the metal base and the glass top. The parts that the glass should have been placed on were put on the wrong end of the table (welded on of course) so the glass doesn't fit. Several calls to customer service. Because it came mostly assembled, it's in a ginormous box. Seriously the biggest box ever, taking up my entire dining room right now. The table wouldn't fit into my car so now it will have to be shipped back via UPS. Keeping my fingers crossed that they'll actually come up to my apartment to pick up because I live alone and there's no way in hell I'll be able to take such a huge box down the stairs alone. Will never buy furniture or anything online from them again.
The typical answer from this company is no. No to everything you ask. They have zero desire in providing good, fair customer service. If they are out of stock you have to order online and pay for shipping and pay oversize charges bringing the price of the items up 30% higher. Complete ripoff. Not bashing but i ordered a simple bottle of vinegar for pick up on Friday 1/1/2021. Waited over 2 hours to confirm pick up, no one responded. Went to store to pick up another bottle and cancelled order with cashier who said no one pulled it yet, however folks were standing around when i arrived. No one cancelled it the next day they charged my card for pickup. I called it in and the lady said no one got to it. They charged card and they have not refunded it by sending cancellation saying i changed my mind. I did not as the vinegar was 10% off curbside and i ended up driving to them to pick it up for more $$$. They need better customer service or a whole new staff.
We ordered a Farmhouse Granger Table for our new condo in Saint Augustine. It was delivered today and Pilot shipping company would not carry it upstairs. In desperation I called Jacksonville World Market after 5 pm and James Clute drove all the way to St Augustine from Jacksonville to help us. He bought his wife to help too. He then helped my husband build it I no time at all... and left after 8 pm. Wow, what an amazing man and so was his wife Linda. World Market is blessed to have this gentleman as an employee
This whole World market online shopping experience was a nightmare. A week ago I purchased few things from their online store, the order supposed to be delivered yesterday but for some reason my apartment number didn't show up on FedEx end. The address got corrected on fedex system and the package got shipped to a different address. I called world market customer service to try to figure out where the package got shipped to, the agent I was talking to ask me to wait for 5 days then file a police report for the missing shipment. Can you believe that?!? What in the world? This is their company policy to handle missing shipment. She is not showing interest to help me out. Beware when you place your online order with world market, their system has glitch where the 2nd line of the address is not showing on carriers system. That was what happens to my order, where my apartment number didn't showing on fedex system. Not again world market.

Ordered $3k worth of items online. Every piece delivered so far has been damaged. One piece has to be delivered via delivery service. They are 3 hours behind the window they gave me to be home. World Market's response..."out of our control". It is in my control to never shop there again.
I have only purchased items from World Market on line twice and both times has been a problem. As many others have said here, when you purchase on line it says is in stock. Then you go to pick it up at the shop and you realize the order is incomplete, the manager says he doesn't know what happened, but the rest will arrive at some point. In my case, I ordered 4 bottles of Herdez Chipotle cream. I received the wrong salsa, and only 3 bottles not 4. I paid $25.45. I went to return the order to the shop nearest to me. I showed my order purchase and they refunded me only $12.35. I pointed out that was wrong, she says, we can not refund the shipping cost which was $9 and I said what about the other bottle? She said you only returning 3 so I can't refund the other one! I said, you never send it to me but I paid for 4 bottles! She said there was nothing she can do. This is a total scam! The other time I bought something on line it was for a set of 10 forks and 10 knifes. They sent an email that the order was ready for a pick up. I went and the order was incomplete, there were only 5 forks and 4 knifes. Their explanation, that was the only they had in stock! Why don't you email the customer informing of this? I don't want an incomplete set! Again, it smells like they are shady and liars. It looks like to me a class action law suit should be set up because this company lies and deceives customers all the time.

I want to give two ratings. 5 star for employee # *******, a gal with purple hair at the Rosedale, MN store on 12/5/19. She was pleasant and quick but at the same time did not make me feel rushed. She told me where to find what I couldn't and held my basket while I went to get it. I will look for her to check me out next time.
She called a manager over to take care of something that did not ring up properly. The manager took over the register and said he gave me the discount. I figured he knew what he was doing but I just checked my receipt and he rang up the item without the discount. He gets zero stars. I called the store hoping they could credit me but they do nothing over the phone. World Market gets zero stars for not providing their employees with the ability to satisfy a customer when an employee from Cost Plus World Market messes up.
While I love the daybed I purchased, the customer service left much to be desired. The box is quite large and as I attempted to figure out how to get it onto my car, the employee was extremely unhelpful. She didn't attempt to offer ideas or possible solutions. She just stood there, giving reasons why my ideas wouldn't work.
After I finally returned the next day with my son to help, another young man assisted us while she stood there. When she handed me my paperwork I said "Thank you". Her response: " "

I ordered 3 bookcases months ago. They did not arrive when the shipping company told me they would. A week later they only delivered 2 of the 3 cases. Then when I finally received all 3,2 of them were damaged. Did I mention that my shipping charges were nearly $500! They told me I would get an email in 5 days telling me about my replacement parts. 10 days later I had still not heard from them. Now they tell me they are sending me one replacement part and one new bookcase. Who knows! They are nice on the phone, but no follow through, no accountability. I finally got them to refund me about 1/2 my shipping costs. Still dont have my new bookcases and dont know when I will. Do not order furniture online from them.
Just purchased a entertainment center from world market in Tulsa, OK. Began assembly at home and it was missing the top. Called customer service and said were out of luck and to call the local store. Girl and local store was rude and said wed have to wait to have the unit exchanged in a couple of days. How do you forget the top and most essential part of a tv stand?!
