I do not question the negative experiences that many other consumers have reported, but my own recent experience was very different from theirs. I ordered very hard to find Boulder Canyon potato chips with only sea salt added and I received them promptly. The bags were intact and the chips were fresh (with a "Best if used by date" more than three months from the date I received the package. World Market provided a valid tracking number so that I could track the shipment. All in all, I found the company to be reliable and trustworthy.
I applied for a World Market credit card because I was planning on purchasing large ticket items and the incentive they were offering at time of application was 20% off my first order. The good news-when I applied they emailed me the 20% off code to use. When I finally received my credit card in the mail the incentive expired. I called to see if World Market would make good on it and they refused. I won't be purchasing from World Market and am cancelling their credit card.

Thus year I got a gift certificate for Christmas. I finally got around to driving to their store, I asked the cashier if my gift certificate given to me via email could be used in store. She assured me I could.
I proceeded to browse and pick up items I liked for almost 45 minutes. When I got to cash register cashier had trouble applying my gift card codes so asked mgr for assistance only to be told I can only use it online.
Shame on you WM/CP! :(. Just another way to scam customers for outrageous shipping costs
I used a promo code that stated Free Shipping for orders $49+ only to find out later the small print excluded nearly everything in the store. When I tried to cancel the order they said they could do it, although it didn't even ship out until 5 days later. On top of it they charged me $15.90 shipping for five small pillows. Yes, regular shipping in the US, for five small pillows. To top it off, they pulled this garbage during the COVID store closure, so the ONLY option was shipping. Really shameful.
I will be filing a lawsuit with this company. Do not order anything online from them. I ordered an expensive sofa from them, it was delivered damaged. Its been over 2 months to get a replacement delivered and still have not received but 2 pieces of my sofa set. The shipping company they use Pilot Freight is a joke as well. They randomly show up at my door with no warning and only deliver part of the sofa but marked the entire order as delivered. Now they are saying it's lost and they don't know where it is. I will be filing a lawsuit with world market and their ghetto shipping company. I have opened several escalations and spoken with supervisors and it is a nightmare. I haven't had any luck.

I have never had such a horrific experience in ordering a piece of furniture as I have with World Market. I ordered this table on June 1,2019 & NEVER received it after waiting 2 months! I called over 15 times, but to the two shipping companies that World Market engaged as well as World Market. They gave me the run around time after time & promised that it would be delivered on several difference occasions. After waiting 2 months without a dining table, I don't know what else to do but to move on. I have never had such a disappointing & frustrating experience in ordering a product from a retailer as I have with them!
I strongly discourage anyone from ever ordering any furniture from World Market.
They used a cheap $#*! delivery company lost 2 of the 3 pieces of my furniture. Contacted world market they shipped one of the 2 remaining pieces fed ex. It's been over a month waiting. Never will I buy again
I have been to the World Market in Carmel, Indiana 3 times now and have been overcharged 2 of them. The first was a $6 charge and the last time was $1. Probably most people don't look at their receipts but I do. I got the $6 back when I returned to the store but won't the incorrect charge from a few days ago as I don't live close and don't plan to return. You need to check your receipt before you leave the store. This seems to be a pattern.
I have ordered a few things from this website, and some of them have been fine. But I have ordered two baskets, neither of which were cheap. One of them came very lopsided. It is just the way it is weaved. It does not sit straight. I bought it to put a plant in in my living room. Another time I ordered a large sculpted basket called a pumpkin basket. When it came, the entire side was caved in. And it wasn't damaged, I believe it was just made that way. I attempted to pop the side back out oh, but it would not go. The box it arrived and had not been damaged at all. So that leads me to believe they actually shipped it to me this way. I don't know why they ship out items that are clearly not made correctly. Those should be discarded and not sold. Then I had to go through the trouble of asking for free return shipping since I received a defective item. Which they did honor
I purchased gift cards on December 6,2022 as a gift for a family member for Christmas. These gift cards were supposed to be emailed by the middle of December. No gift cards were sent. With constant communication on my end with WM, I was promised the gift cards would be emailed and never were. After Christmas, I requested a refund. I was told the gift cards had to be devalued which they were by January 10,2023. On January 12,2023, I spoke to a supervisor who took my credit card information. I was guaranteed a refund within 48 hours. After many phone calls to WM and no communication from them, it is February 20,2023 and still no refund. They say it's been turned over to corporate. Today they say they have no timeframe for my refund. I did look at the reviews prior to purchasing the gift cards, and to my better judgement I went ahead and trusted WM. Do not fall for this scam of a company. If I could, I would not have given this review 1 star.

I ordered 3 things from them. 2 of them arrived, and third was missing. They sent out a new package with the 3rd item, 10 days later I find out it was damaged and never made it. I was refunded, and will never use them again. Two mistakes on my first order means no more business.
World Market is the absolute worst online ordering site! They don't ship the items you order, they certainly take your money. They don't answer phone calls, emails, etc. I ordered off their site 3-4 weeks ago never received order no one will answer any of my contacting methods! I filed a BBB complaint, looks like I'm not the only one, go and read the BBB reports on them! BUYER BEWARE! Don't do it!
My whole family loves this store, amazing food items, artwork, soaps, furniture, home décor and cooking items. They have all sorts for food items, beverages, wines, beers and sweets that are imported from other countries. I love buying good quality spices, teas, coffee, sweets, jewelry and gifts here. My favorites are German, Canadian, British and Japanese candy, German cookies, eastern spices, Wild Rose tea, chocolate chai, scone mixes, vintage soda pops & beers, Asian & Italian cooking, unique jewelry and artwork, kitchen kick knacks... these are many of the thing I've bought from this store and loved them all.
For the past 3 years-3x's I have ordered items on their website to be delivered or picked up in the store and each time there was an issue. This past month I ordered an item to be shipped from their website and never received it, so after waiting on hold for 35 minutes the customer representative told me they cancelled the order because the item I ordered was discontinued? No communication about this on their part. Similar situations for the other two times I ordered from them came to the store to pick up my orders and surprise they aren't there even though I received a confirmation for pickup for one of them-the other one relayed they had plenty of the item in stock. I'm done giving them a chance. After 3 years I would think they would fix their crappy system that clearly doesn't work- especially since other businesses have closed due to poor online ordering experiences.
I ordered a product for curbside pick up about 7:30am on Jan 5,2023. The site said there were 7 available. Today is Jan 8th and I get an email that WM canceled my order because the item is out of stock. Why they didn't just pack up my order as soon as it came in, instead of waiting 3 days, I have no idea. This isn't the first time I've ordered from them via the website and an item has gotten canceled several days after I paid for the order.

Placed an order online for 6 bags of coffee and 50 teabags for a total of $57.71 when order was received in a large box with only the tea bags lots of filler and an invoice showing the order was complete. Sending an email complaint
And receiving a form letter stating how to file a complaint. I feel the shipment appears to have been ripped at point of shipment.
I ordered a water filter for my refrigerator. The item came in the correct box however it was the wrong filter in the box. I used there prepaid return ticket. Two weeks later I received the package back with a label saying "Return to Sender" The return address on the return label was ******* Orb Dr., Browerville, MN *******. I googled the address and found that it is a house in a rural area that is actually listed on Realtor.com for sale. Never use them again.

While I usually love most of the furniture I get from World Market. The faux leather chairs and seating they sell can be a problem. I have purchased two different faux leather chairs from them and they both over time started cracking and peeling. I do think most of the other furniture is quite amazing though.
DO NOT ORDER FROM WORLD MARKET! Absolute worst online experience I have ever had. I ordered a bed online in the beginning of December 2021 and it was estimated to be delivered by the first week of January. It is now the middle of February and I have had to work with three separate shipping companies. The initial order got lost in transit, then one of two packages arrived at our door only to be returned because the second box was lost. Then we had to reorder the bed and the shipping company confirmed delivery on three separate occasions but it never showed up. World Market won't allow cancellations for at least two weeks after the item has gone "missing." It's been a complete nightmare. Do not order from them!

Been calling for weeks. Wrong tracking number, multiple times on calls with supervisors, keeps telling me same issue that it's "shipped", no one calls the trucking company to get updates. Refuses to give me refund because it's "shipped status" went in fact, it is still sitting lost somewhere! GARBAGE COMPANY! Go buy elsewhere, spend more and get great service and an actual tracking number! Not to mention, the stores have absolutely NOTHING in stock! Everything was out of stock, leaving you to order online and then you run into these weird, stagnant, no activity with shipping issues and VERY RUDE customer service people!
I have been struggling since March to get a replacement/refund for a couch that was delivered in literal pieces. After hours of being on hold with non-existent customer service since March, I received a "replacement" yesterday... again, in pieces.
I want your horrible product out of my home IMMEDIATELY, and I want a full refund for this complete waste of time and horrible customer experience.
Your company is clearly under more than it can handle, but COVID is not an excuse for corporate theft from consumers. Advise who is going to come collect yesterday's garbage delivery... it is taking up too much space in my apartment.
PS: Everyone should look at Twitter and Instagram to see how many people are in the same predicament with this sad excuse for a company.
I placed 3 orders on April 16 - 2 arrived and the 3rd order which was for an expensive piece furniture never arrived despite a confirmation message in my email stating that it was delivered. I called the shipper who was most helpful - they said the vendor never gave them the merchandise!
I attempted numerous times to contact customer service - they never responded. I canceled the transaction through my bank. Will never order again from World Market online again.
Since the World Market stores were closed during the Clovid-19 Pandamic, I placed a food order online. What a mistake that was. I wish I had read the reviews on this website.
The first time it was sent, UPS sent it back because of the package was damaged. World Market sent it out again and the same problem happened. Obviously they do not train their personnel on how fragile items should be packaged. Now for the last 3 weeks the package has been stuck in some UPS warehouse awaiting a decision by World Market. I have placed an email complaint and received a case number. Nobody has gotten back with me in the last 2 weeks. I called repeatedly, and after a very caring sounding message by them, nobody answers. Just now I held over an hour. Then I found this website. I decided to not waste any more time today. I never received the goods, but they have my money. I'll go through my Credit Card and will apply for a resolution by them.
After an extremely poor experience the 1st time I said let me give them a second try. 2nd order came after 10 days and short an item. Call customer service spoke to a representative she said please hold on a minute 15 minutes later I had to hang up. Reached out next by email it is now 72 hours later no response from them. So many better companies out there did the a with I should have known better. CAVIOT EMPTOR
I Had amazing experience of shopping in new World Market store in Manchester, CT. I loved service and friendly environment.
I loved the great diversity in food and kitchen supplies, loved helpful sales people. I wish to have more such experience in different stores I go.

I placed an order on December 2nd and never received a confirmation email for the order. I called one week later, they have me my order number and told me the items should be shipped within 2 days. Today, almost 2 weeks later, I receive an email stating my order is delayed. I called customer service today to cancel my order and I was told it's too late to cancel. There were no supervisors available to speak to me, so who knows if and when I will receive my items or a call back. I DO NOT recommended World Market for online orders!
Problems with online orders, problems with in store pick up, problems with being overcharged - and no one at the store, or the 877 number, or the online chat had any interest in helping sort them out. There are too many other stores with comparable products and MUCH better customer service to waste time here
