I do not question the negative experiences that many other consumers have reported, but my own recent experience was very different from theirs. I ordered very hard to find Boulder Canyon potato chips with only sea salt added and I received them promptly. The bags were intact and the chips were fresh (with a "Best if used by date" more than three months from the date I received the package. World Market provided a valid tracking number so that I could track the shipment. All in all, I found the company to be reliable and trustworthy.
I applied for a World Market credit card because I was planning on purchasing large ticket items and the incentive they were offering at time of application was 20% off my first order. The good news-when I applied they emailed me the 20% off code to use. When I finally received my credit card in the mail the incentive expired. I called to see if World Market would make good on it and they refused. I won't be purchasing from World Market and am cancelling their credit card.
I received an email from World Market advertising a sale on an item I was interested in purchasing. When I went to their site to purchase the item, the sale price was not honored. After speaking to several people, including 2 supervisors, they could not find anything about the sale. I forwarded a copy of the email to them and was told since they didn't know anything about the sale I could purchase the item at full price and they would refund the amount over the sale price. I couldn't trust that they would in fact refund me so I didn't purchase the item from them. It wouldn't be that big of a deal, but it was something I wanted to give my daughter for Christmas. It was very frustrating so i found something elsewhere.

Worst customer service ever. Can't get my order, can't get a response. Will Trying doing a charge back for this insanity. $107 order. 16 days and not tracking. Due at the house 6 days ago. NO tracking information. Sent an email Jan 5th. Automated response, "expect a response to you shortly" 6 days later no response.
NOw it is 7 days since the order should have been here, still no response, no order and no tracking number
Who ever the CEO is, is looking to save on taxes by running World Market into the ground. A bunch of fat cats buy World Market from Bed Bath Beyond when customer service was customer service and now these fat egotistical fat cats have nothing better to do then ruin a business and add more anger and frustration to the world as we try and find a live person to help get an order. Well done Fat Lazy, perimysium's. You might have a lot of money but you're still bottom feeders.
Doing a Charge back and will pray for the employees at World Market when it crashes, they will find good jobs and loose little in the interim.
I've shopped in their stores several times and have always been pleased. I bought a new home just before the pandemic and desperately needed some furniture. I turned to World Market because they had great sales and very fast delivery ranges. I ended up spending $2500 on 2 matching outdoor sofas, the matching outdoor chairs, the matching coffee table, 6 of the same dining chairs chair, and 4 other outdoor occasional chairs. I was never given tracking and the order remained "open." After a week, I received an email telling me that 4/6 of the dining chairs were unavailable. I tried calling and emailing to cancel the 2 chairs since I wanted 6, but couldn't get through. I attempted to reach out on social media since they were posting ads every day and only received a generic, robotic response to call or chat, which were both not working. After 2 weeks, I was contacted by a freight company - they had 2 of the chairs to deliver. They arrived, but were missing the pillows that were supposed to come with them. I tried to call and email again - nada. After 3 weeks, the remaining items arrived. The sofas were both completely cracked as were the matching chairs. Again, I could not get through to world market and had a ton of broken furniture and broken, filthy boxes in my house. Thankfully AMEX refunded our money. I will never ever order from World Market again and would encourage others to do the same.
Spent $200 on these pouf ottomans. Withing 6 months of very limited use, both have lost their shape and one has a tear in the fabric. Pure garbage considering what we paid for them.
Never got anything ordered each order I placed got cancelled for out of stock. In my opinion, this is not acceptable- 3 orders cancelled is one too many. Do better.
Sometimes I shop at world market location: Rockville ( federal plaza) and I wanted to appreciated the person works there (Heath) he is very kind and helpful, thanks to him and also the store is very organized and clean.
Ordered the distressed sofa table. It came broken. Ordered a replacement. Also broken. Ordered a 3rd like an idiot - Still broken... complete garbage and I have to wait up to 48 hours to talk to a supervisor because they "couldn't find one" to talk to me.

We love world market. Fascinating place to visit and we always buy something unique from them. On my last order, they offered SAME DAY curbside pickup. The mail I got said do not go to the store until I was contacted. I waited all day and finally called just before closing. The lady who answered told me they were running 48 - 72 hours behind. I told her if I had known that I would have just picked it up in the store. She started telling me about this big sale and all the orders they had received and they were backed up. Excuse excuse excuse. I tried to explain that as a customer I was now screwed because I was going to have to wait 48 - 72 hours for something I need today. I told her if they had let me know, I would have just gone into the store. She then told me the store policy was they would not print the ticket until they were ready to fulfill it. Again not my issue but she would not listen. I told her they should give options to the customer if they cannot meet the demand. In frustration, I finally asked to speak with the store manager. She told me she was the store manager and had been for 3 years. The logic just escapes me. So now the item I wanted for today that I agreed to do curbside pickup I cannot get until they decide they will be ready for me to come get it and it could be as long as 3 days and zero help from a manager. Store policy my butt. Last time I will ever shop there. Plenty of other places.
I truly enjoy shopping at their stores, but I will NEVER order online again! It has been a nightmare! I ordered some things, and they cancelled some of the items at the spur of the moment. I then try to find the items at a store, and they have them at a store in Mobile, AL. I call and get one lady that says it is going to take some time to find the items. I talk with customer service, and they said that they were ready to pick up, total lies! I call the store, and they don't even know I have an order! I wished that I would have looked at other reviews before I ordered. I am so angry because it is so close to Christmas, and all I got was the runaround. DO NOT ORDER ONLINE OR PICK UP IN STORE!
I ordered 5 little gifts for Christmas, ordered it by their designated "get it by Christmas date" and I am now being told it probably won't get here by then. Placed the order many days ago, during when they said you would still get it by Christmas, and still have not received confirmation that it has been shipped out. Decided to call and wait 20 minutes on the phone, just for a guy to tell me "yeah it's supposed to be there by Christmas, but I don't have a ship date so it might be late" WHY WOULD YOU MAKE DESIGNATED DATES IF YOU AREN"T GOING TO SHIP THINGS UNTIL A WEEK LATER. Will NEVER shop at World Market EVER again.
I went to One Republic concert, I asked a manager if she could fix the propane heater outside, She said there was nothing she could do and I should of brought a jacket, Then I had a free drink and asked the bartender where her tip jar was, she said they weren't allowed to put tip jar on table, plus could not ask customers for tips, I tipped her and said thank you, I then noticed a manager behind her giving me a dirty look, she seemed to be angry, then I seen her yelling at a runner for no reason, I don't know who hired these managers, But one thing is for sure, They have no customer service skills, nor do they care about employees and customers.

GE XWFE Refrigerator Water Filter Replacement, Single-Pack × 1,4 Pack (Save $20), $89.99
I attempted to change our water filter and it would NOT work. A certified GE technician was here today and indicated that these filters are deficient, NOT containing the chip or necessary elements to work. I ordered directly online using a VISA. I am out of pocket this amount and had to order water filters directly from GE. BUYER BEWARE - I also emailed the customer service for them, but doubt I'll get a refund.

DO NOT BUY ON LINE IN WORLD MARKET EVER! My table arrived broken, they pick it up on June 5th and today, July 12th I haven't got my refund yet. Every time I call to customer service they make new excuses in order to give my money back. I hope this review makes you think twice before risking your money.
My daughter purchased 2 lamps from World Market online and was confirmed to pick up today in North Raleigh. Drive one hour to pick up and only 1 ready. They refuse to transfer to closer store or ship to her home. Manager is totally rude and this store is a mess. NEVER AGAIN WORLD MARKET!
Spent $1,300 on a nice outdoor patio set with couch, 2 chairs, a table and all cushions included. Immediately started to see some fading. The fading got worse and worse. After calling and complaining, their reason for the fading is because their OUTDOOR, PATIO furniture was "not built for inclement weather". After I told them I live in Arizona, they repeated themselves about the inclement weather... so apparently sunshine is inclement.
They were gracious enough to give us a full refund -- but shipping everything back has been a disaster. They came and took the couch but refused to take the table and the 2 chairs, without giving a reason other than "because". They told us we would need to find our own boxes, pack them up and ship them back ourselves. Boxes that big aren't just hanging around. Finding boxes and packing were a pain. Did it just to be done with it their poor quality patio furniture.
My wife and I used to shop at World Market all the time because we liked their products and there is a store location close to us. This has been such a pain, I won't shop at their store again, shop online with them and I definitely will never buying something expensive with them again.
Awesome candy and furniture from around the world. As a traveler I was originally surprised to see true items from countries I have visited, now I rekindle memories when I shop here.
Bought the Roland bedroom set and what a nightmare! Every piece of furniture could not be put together correctly! The dresser especially is a load of junk! Bought two different units putting them together and both were a mess none of draws worked right or fit correctly. The manager at the store finally offered to have them put it tiger at no charge. Sounded great! Got a call two weeks later that it was ready to be picked and that it was working perfectly. Payed a moving company to pick up and to deliver to my house and it is still not right! Now I have figure out and pay to have it returned. Plus now I have a bed and two side tables that also needs be returned because I don't want odd pieces. I'm am so frustrated and upset at time and money I have spent on this. They should not be selling this bedroom set. Now I'm out a bedroom set plus all the moving cost. I honestly would not want this furniture if it was free! Never again will I buy any furniture from them again and neither will anyone I know!
Horrribbbbbble customer service never order anything online from them or anything from them... I bought something online from there and did not recieve it yet and now they are giving me the run around... DONT SHOP HERE!
About a month ago I purchased some very pretty glasses at World Market in Daytona Beach. The glasses were blush pink pressed bar glasses. They have a 12 ounce capacity. I purchased 8 glasses and one of them cracked shortly after I purchased it. I was not concerned at that point. I just figured it was my fault and I would replace it. My husband recently showed me some of the glasses that seemed to have cracking on the bottom of them and the color has faded in most of them. I have a 9 year old and I am concerned for his safety so I went to the store to return them. I am sure that something went wrong in the production of these glasses. I spoke to two very cold and rude clerks who continued to say there was nothing wrong with the glasses. One of them put a glove on and started scratching the bottom of a glass. I could see the tiny pieces of glass flying in the air. She said I was not washing them correctly! Now I am seeing red. I said I wanted to return them. The clerk replied at least 10 times that I could not return anything without a receipt. I had to ask her to stop saying that over and over. Then the comment was, " unfortunately there is nothing we can do"! Well lady there is something you could have done. You could have said you were sorry that my family was drinking out of glasses that were not safe. You could have offered me a store credit when I could not produce a receipt. These glasses are still on the shelves in the Daytona Beach store. Please do not purchase them!

They scheduled the delivery and failed to tell me it was a sidewalk drop until two days prior to delivery. I paid two men to wait with me at my home to accept it. I had to take the day off of work and the driver showed up at 6 PM- i hour after the latest he was supposed to. He pulled right past my building up the block-refused to back up. He then "pushed the huge box off the truck as it slammed into the concrete street. When my guys tried to lift it up there were multiple holes in the box where you could see the fabric was torn and the wood exposed and damaged. I stated I would not sign for this as it was damaged-he said "I dont care what you do, its not my problem" and threw it back on the truck and left. I reported this immediately and I have spent the past two weeks trying to get a credit processed- they have used every excuse in the book and that "$576.00 is a very large credit" which i find mind blwoing that it would be a large amount of money for a large corporation, it is for me. There will never be a day I shop at World market again- hands down the worst retail experience to date.
I wasted over 2 hours of my time yesterday, finding the item, only to find out they dont ship to Hawaii, although the info implies they do for an additional cost. So I arranged to have item shipped to mainland via my own arrangements to get it back to Hawaii (i. E.) item 11X31, less then 3 lbs. Clicked confirm item, it comes up, there is a problem call this number. Customer service says, order did not go through if I didnt get a confirm #. My concern, will my card be charged twice, CS rep, I told you NO, if there was no confirm #. I order again on the phone. Half hour later I receive E Mail from my Credit Card company, I check, sure enough 2 pending charges for the same item. Another hour being passed between card customer service and World Market CS. Im told by both, only one charge will actually go through, the one with the confirm #. I open up my E Mail this morning, World Market, we regret to inform you, that we are unable to complete your order, the following item is unavailable! If this is their idea of customer service, I will show them mine. Fact, for every dissatisfied customer, your company loses at least 100 new customers. I am an avid online shopper, and I and all my friends family and associates will be made aware of how you take care of your customers. You are officially on BLAST!
Placed order online, 2 hours later, called customer service to cancel. Daughter is getting married and these were cake stands that she doesn't need because venue is providing. Spent $64! Customer service said too late to cancel and they would do a re route. Now keep in mind, package is still in their warehouse, hasn't left, probably not even packaged, it had now been 2.5 hrs since order. They tell me basically the package has to be picked up by Fed Ex, then re routed back to the warehouse! After all this it will take 10 business days to process. It has now been almost 2 weeks, I check order status since no refund yet. They are now going to deliver to my daughter after all. I am beyond frustrated, upset, I mean this is so ridiculous! If you told this process to a Kindergartener they would say 'that's silly'. So now not only has the re routing not worked, but, it's now taken 2 weeks for it even to get somewhere, in this case my daughter. CS keeps sending auto replies and canned answers. I want my money back. This is the best synopsis: Hi I'm here to pick up my child from school. Ok well you can't pick them up, we have to put your child on the bus, have the bus drop them off at your house, we can try and get the bus driver to bring your child back but we may not be successfull. But my kid is right there! Yea, sorry have to put them on the bus first. Ugh.
I ordered two chaise lounges, one was delivered with a completely damaged packaging due to the shipment and handling (fedex), also the chase lounge itself was broken too. Same day, I requested to either returning both or replacing the damaged one with a new one. Also tried calling the customer service many times, every time, I waited for 15+min and got disconnected without answering my call. I didn't hear from World Market customer service till 1 month later, The lady was helpful over the phone and I was told that since it's not in stock I can't replace the order and my only choice was returning both and I will receive the fedex notification/label for the return and also need to drop off two chaises too (well, I have to rent a truck as well).
I kept checking my emails/spams but didn't receive anything from fedex after another 1.5 month. I tried to call the customer service, again waited for 10,15+ each time and got disconnected without answering my phone.
I was a World Market customer for last 3+years but this horrible experience makes me never back to World Market again.
On Aug 24 at 8:48 PM PDT, I bought the Gray Emmett 5 Piece Square Modular Sectional Sofa #KIT0057SKU. I live in Liberty Lake, WA and the estimated time for arrival was Sep 1-3. I received my order by Seko Logistics on Sep 4. AWESOME!
I had purchased the sectional for $1,284.43 (that included the 15% discount and WA tax); I then saw 3 days later that World Market had lowered the price considerably. I called customer service and it took me about 15 minutes until someone was able to answer. I explained the cost difference and they said I could on get $66 dollars back on my order (actually, I should have been quoted $266 refund). I thanked her for her time and hung up and went immediately to the website chat function, was connected almost instantly to a customer service rep, explained the situation and was quoted $266 refund for my order. Five days later I had my refund back in my account. AWESOME!
The Sectional is awesome too! Very deep and about 8 out of 10 for firmness on the seat cushions. Extra cushions for the back are awesome as well and very soft. I'm 6'4" tall and this sectional is just awesome.
Great coupons from this site, I just use my smart phone and they scan the barcode! Love it! I am always using coupons from their site!
