I completed a transaction on a website and was directed to WorldRemit for payment. I downloaded the app, verified my information, and paid with a valid credit card in my name. Within 5 minutes of what I thought was a successful transaction, WorldRemit sent me an email saying my transaction had been cancelled.

When I called, I was told that not only had my transaction been cancelled, my account had been "deactivated" and I would not be allowed to do business with WorldRemit again. I asked why; I also asked how to correct the situation. They declined to provide a reason, and they wouldn't allow me any opportunity to modify or correct whatever I had been "flagged" for. What?!?!? I was banned immediately, permanently, and without explanation.

I wasted an hour between set up, verification, emails, and phone calls for one transaction, to be banned without any reason.

I would urge anyone reading this to go with a more recognizable, reputable money transfer service. This was a real mistake.

WorldRemit culls 5-star reviews for their own website, ignoring any unfavorable reviews. I wish I could give them less than one star.

Avoid WorldRemit. If you send money through them, you will have surprising and hidden charges by your bank such as CASH ADVANCE FEE, CASH INTEREST etc. Worst experience with them.

I would give Zero stars if I could. Interesting. Well here's a (29th December, 2021) review for you. I'll NEVER use WorldRemit again! The first time I downloaded this app 2 years ago, after about 3 successful transactions, my account was Hacked and there were weird transactions from another country showing on my account. I think they were from Kenya or something like that. The experience was like 2 different people from different countries in the same account. I could see their transactions and who knows if they could see mine too so, I immediately deleted my debit card from the account in the settings. This shows how WorldRemit doesn't care about the security and privacy of their customers! And now today I decided to give it a second chance by creating a new account and it's been disabled after the first international transaction that didn't even complete processing? And you tell me that it's because my account doesn't meet the criteria of your terms and conditions? And when I ask the customer service what stupid "criteria" you're talking about, you say that you can't "disclose the details" and that I should just view the "terms and conditions" as if that will solve anything! Y'all need to fix this! What a severely poor serviced app! Especially for United States customers! I downloaded the app on my mom's iPhone too and the same thing happened.(again, I only tried sending $5 so that I don't risk much). The customer service people in the app didn't even try to help me! They just send a Long automated message saying my account is canceled due to WorldRemit's criteria blah blah blah. And that they will issue a refund in 7 days or whatever. Thank God I only tried to send $5 to Zambia to see if would work well before I try to send a large amount, and let me tell you, it doesn't work, lol. Don't even waste your time and resources. I'll just go back to using the WesternUnion app because I've never experienced such B. S. from them. I only tried to use WorldRemit because people in Africa rave about the "mobile money transfer" feature. And by the way, I will be expecting my REFUND WorldRemit! Such B. S.!

My experience with worldremit.com has not ended well. I went from being a good customer to a some kind of unexplained criminal suspect in a matter of moments, when I phoned for help in sending money to a friend overseas in an emergency. I was asked personal questions one would not expect to be asked - and in a rude manner - by anyone who is about to get your money for a simple service. Worldremit renders the power of judgement and sentence upon its simple "customer service" agents.

That being the case, if you get a bad agent, you don't have a chance to complete your legal business. Such a person is the only person you will be able to talk with on the phone if you have a problem in sending help to those who need it. You will get no supervisor, even if promised a supervisor. You will get no access other than the employee you are speaking to at the time you are speaking to him or her. Worldremit shields its upper echelon staff as much as the President of the United States is shielded from criticism and challenge by any member of the public. This business does what it likes, from within a cocoon of arrogant self-righteousness.

Worldremit has behaved capriciously and dishonestly with me. I am glad these people don't serve in law enforcement or in justice, and I hope they don't sit on juries. Worldremit cannot be trusted for fair play, or for fair judgement. I am glad I am now with another company.

worldremit.com never considered what I had to say, and never gave me the chance to communicate in any way with someone in worldremit who could have overruled the 'customer service' person on the phone, who didn't know how to listen.

Please see CompareRemit. The reviews on that site regarding WorldRemit and the terrible service are true. I had the same exact experience. I went on the website to send money to fellow friends in Uganda, Kampala and my account was cancelled for "undisclosed reasons at the time" and it could not be shared with me over the phone. I had to file a "claim". But they did proceed to take the money out of my checking account which I will not received back for up to "5-10" business days. The manager was not concerned about how upset a BRAND NEW customer was with this terrible service, indicated that there was nothing he could do and then suggest I file a claim. Really? You just took several hundreds of dollars from my checking account after I was an honest and eager customer wanting to use their service and I have to file the claim? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT USE WORLD REMIT. THEY WILL HOLD YOUR MONEY SEVERAL DAYS, CANCEL YOUR ACCOUNT WHEN YOU HAVE DONE NOTHING WRONG AND THEN TELL YOU THEY CAN NOT DO ANYTHING

Following my previous reviews about the most incompetent company in the entire galaxy called WORLD REMIT. So they called me again asking me if I got the refund of *******krs and when I told them no, they said they will contact the bank. This issue is my bank confirmed that they already have been contacted and given the wrong info so they wrote back to world remit. The operator, no surprise, was not able to retrieve the conversation. SHE PROMISED SHE WILL CONTACT MY BANK AND SHE WILL INCLUDE ME IN THE EMAIL. I NEVER GOT ANY EMAIL. SO SHE LITERALLY LIED TO ME. HER NAME IS MICHELLE. I am waiting for this refund for more then a month and during this month, I was given 6 different case numbers, various different emails, and at least 20 different stories about where my money is. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY CALLED WORLDREMIT. THEY ARE THE MOST INCOMPETENT COMPANY, THEY HAVE NO COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THEMSELVES. I THINK THEY ARE TRYING TO SCAM ME. I cannot find any other logical explanation for being given 6 different case numbers, and every each operator that I am talking to has no idea what am I talking about. THEY ARE USELESS. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.As regarding the ******* dkr that I have to receive from WORLDREMIT, I lost any hope that I will ever get a refund. I think they will keep the money, which is literally stealing

Below email to the World Remit customer service, after over a week of waiting for my money to be paid abroad. Only a small taste of how bad their service is. Note my email was never taken care of!- Still awaiting my money =(

I have now sent multiple times, various documentations. With all your respect, this has been a long roller coaster with your compliance process which isn't efficient at all to handle these transitions. Your systems don't support the files that I have been required to load on the website, your emails inbox don't support reception of multiple files and even just one file. Your team doesn't have the capability to provide timely feedback and answers to technical and compliance questions. I have sent money with at least three other operators (AZIMO, RIA, INARA, WesternUnion) and I am afraid this is the worst nightmare I have ever experience. Currently, I am honestly fearing my money isn't secure, have not been in touch of it for over a week and no one can give a clear contact number of a name for the someone dealing with this transaction either abroad or here in the UK.

I have also tried to raise a complain, on the chat and on the phone which also proved challenging. Calls and chats drop off, there is not an official complaint department, not even a complaint email, there is not a manager I can escalate the matter, literally no one who can take personal accountability of this transaction.

My transaction is still in limbo after a week, despite your 24-hour promise. This is already causing me a lot of trouble as I have missed some payments I had to meet myself. Therefore, I need you to take this as a formal complaint.
