I like to keep up with current events, new technology, what my stocks are doing and this is the only paper I'll read. We call all the other papers mullet wrappers. The other papers like the New York Times are too slanted politically for our tastes. Their is nothing like honest journalism. People NEED to see both sides of the issues. I like to hold, feel and cutout (good articles) and the online addition just doesn't cut it for me. I often will find an article that's relevant for my kids, they don't have the time to read the Wall Street Journal cover to cover) so I send them articles they can use in their daily lives. Best paper in the market!
Your rate will increase 10 fold after the introductory period! They will stick you for one month at the high rate even if you call and cancel on the day of the charge. I had a charge processed today (9/25/2024) (shows pending on my account) for a higher amount. I called today to cancel today but they would not cancel the subscription until 10/22. The pending charge will NOT be reversed. I will dispute the charge. Do do business with Dow Jones or Wall Street Journal! Unconscionable business practice!
Don't subscribe unless you want to literally blow your brains out with frustration. The first phone announced a hold time of more than 30 minutes.
The second phone call I was on hold for 20 minutes, then 10 minutes to try to get me to keep the subscription, then five minutes to "register the cancellation".

I signed up in response to a 'deal' in 2017, and found out after I signed up how much it actually will cost. I tried to cancel it according to the guidelines, but they did not accept them. Over the next 2 years, I found out it was the Wall Street Journal that continued to bill me over $40 a month, and they were using an email address connected to my account that did not exist - it was a typo! Now that this has officially been figured out, they refuse to refund me even close to a quarter amount of the money they took from me, using a false email!

Their promotions are scams, and they will not acknowledge the cancellations from the receiver. They will use unproven emails for communication, and the bills on the credit account will use names that look like personal investments.

I could not ever receive ANY product because they never sent it to a legitimate email address. They never contacted me because they never acknowledged a phone number, saying that they never had one. They never sent me a physical letter because they 'never had one'.
Boring content so I go online to try to cancel my subscription but there is no way to cancel online! I go to the online chat section where there is a help button for cancellation, but when I click that it says they can't help and that I have to call! So I call, but the message says "outside of normal business hours". WSJ is a lame scam. I'll just do a credit card chargeback instead. Avoid WSJ. Besides, the content is boring AF.

You can't be in business and not read the Wall Street Journal. For anyone who owns a business, I do not know how they can rationally not subscribe to the Wall Street Journal. For under $100 you get the best business coverage anywhere. Helps you to make a smarter business decision that could easy make you tens of thousands of dollars if not more.
I am usually seek to know business news and wsj.com is one my choices. The website updates every news around the business area and some common knowledge for the common people as well. Obviously, it's a good site to refer for stocks and other business news.
As others have mentioned, you cannot cancel your subscription without a phone call and when you do reach the person - they convince you to put the subscription on Hold - no cost to you. BUT after the 3 months hold, they restart the subscription with your credit card on file and you will see an unexpected charge and once charged, you cannot cancel. Can only wait until it expires. INSIST on cancelling your subscription and do not get "tricked" by the 3 month free period. Insist on the e-mail that shows you have cancelled it - if not, you will get an unexpected renewal charge.

Following the Pewdiepie controversy (which wasn't a controversy until the wsj made it into one) I lost all trust in the wsj. For example, pewdiepie was dressed up as a nazi to poke fun at how the media portraits him, and they, ironically enough, used that as an argument for Pewdiepie being a white supremacist. Through this case of taking things out of context, I personally can no longer trust the wsj and hope to see their demise for the improvement of journalism.
At the end of my trial digital subscription for the WSJ, I received a note that the rate would increase from $4.00/mo. To $39.00/mo. I cancelled the account and received notification that my subscription was officially cancelled at the ending of the current billing cycle. Then I received a bill for the $39.00. When I called (many times) to see why, I finally got a supervisor, who said he could reduce payment to $19.00/mo. But could do nothing to negate the $39.00 automatic charge. This is deceptive and deceitful business practices that no doubt is skimming countless thousands of dollars from subscribers who signed on a year earlier. In addition, return calls from the WSL all came at night with no identification in the caller ID. This is no way to do business and is a stain on the company's longstanding reputation.

The product itself was good 4 stars. The part that disappointed me was how difficult it was to navigate between all the different subscription offers. I settled on the three months for a buck figuring at the end I will get a year if the product is good. I missed my deadline and was charged $43 a month for two months. Their customer service is so poor, by the time my subscription was canceled Id been billed for a third month. So $130 when a full year is offered at $67.60... But that's only for NEW customers!

If I could give it less than one, I would. I wanted to end my subscription and thought I did so online by clicking UNSUBSCRIBE and removing my bank information. Don't be fooled by this unscrupulous company. The charges continued to appear on my card for three months. The "cancellation" (aka sales) department tried to continually convenience me to keep my membership. I basically threatened to contact my bank to cancel the withdrawal since the person was essentially refusing to end the subscription. I also said I would write a review condemning WSJ actions. So here I am. I will still contact by bank because I believe the WSJ will not cancel the membership.
Very shady of WSJ - you can enroll in a subscription online with just a few clicks but you have to call customer service to cancel the subscription. Its such a pain to call customer service and update your digital roadmap to have better self-service! Greedy approach to just offer self-service when you make money but not when you lose money.
I cancelled my digital subscription of $4.48 per month on their website and I have a screenshot from mid December 2023 showing "subscription expiring soon".
I did not renew and assumed that this terminated the subscription.
There was nothing on the page about autorenewal.
When I discovered large erroneous billings of over $60 Canadian per month for the following 3 months I looked at my account and it states "subscription expired" and yet WSJ support told me my account was still active.
There is no customer service. The support people I have corresponded with do not listen to me and are unable to explain why "subscription expiring soon" and subscription expired" means the exact opposite in the world of WSJ
What a disgraceful outfit.
Support said they would submit my complaint to senior management. They didnt -there was no response.
I send more emails asking for an explanation and they just stonewall.

Regarding the Covid-19 virus, the rumor that has been expressed in many rooms of the fourth estate is that certain people are intellectually vacant enough to be vaccinated only because some people that have worked in the film or television industry have been inoculated. Truth is impossible to see through blindingly yellow journalistic views.
The WSJ is so confused about walking the line between reality and its right-wing base that it chooses falsehood and the promotion of the philosophies of fascism and dystopia to attempt tp keep its readership?... when they are looking for the rudder the WSJ used to be... the cancer has spread at the WSJ, they are all compromised, what a joke. We just want financial news, aholes and $#*!s.
I really like WallStreet Journal for their approach! They create amazing posts about big companies, as well as common people like I am about. They share useful ideas and money-saving tips for everyday life. Like them 5/5 for sure!
My wife subscribed to WSJ to meet requirements for a college class. You would think canceling the subscription at the end of the semester would require logging into your account and canceling your subscription, but WSJ doesn't have an unsubscribe option on their website.
So we emailed support and asked to be unsubscribed. Support took a day to reply and wasted both of our time by providing a phone number we can call to request an unsubscribe. What a waste of time and energy.
I will be sure to never give WSJ another penny and will encourage everyone I meet for the remainder of my life to do the same. What a terrible organization!
Unless you REALLY like reading it, DO NOT subscribe to the digital version of the WALL STREET JOURNAL. Anything, anything at all, they charge you is non-refundable. You'd think a big company like that would be a little flexible. Now I don't like them. I'm within 12 hours of the "cancel before we charge you" window. No they won't refund any of it but they will significantly reduce the monthly fee if I don't cancel. No way. Don't do it.
I have always known that if I were going to read one paper it should be the wall street journal, the only problem was that it was a pain to read and I hated all of the paper around the house (such a waste and bad for environment). I recently subscribed to a digital version of the WSJ and found that it is so much better than the paper version. Highly recommend everyone ditch their local paper and just read the WSJ.

If I could, I would rate them a 0. I canceled my membership months ago and received a charge for almost $40 this month. Turns out the customer service rep failed to turn off "auto-renewal" when canceling my membership. I just spoke with a customer service rep that ensured that auto renewal is now turned off, but they will not give me a refund for a subscription that I have not used in months. SMH.

I'm very satisfied with the digital edition of wsj but i placed my order for the newspaper around Dec 15th 2021 and it's now January 22nd 2022. I still have not received hard copy paper. I've called 6x and was told to wait a few days each time for it to start. Eventually i started asking for answers on by the 3rd phone call, the 4th phone call they told me the courier died but the fifth and 6th phone call they provided no answers, placed me on hold, and would not transfer me to a manager, respectively. I'm really easy to please, just want honest answers and to talk with someone that is capable... more so than answers, i just want a simple print edition of the paper delivered. Didn't realize it would be so difficult to get a paper delivered to my door each morning. (They don't refund your money, they simply keep delivering the paper after you stop your subscription. Meaning it's a scam because they charge and don't deliver your paper other than digital.)

In my opinion, Wall Street Journal used to be a reputable company. Over time it seems that the quality of their content has decreased. I have read very biased articles in the past year.
THESE GUYS ARE SCUMBAGS! You will not be able to read any content without a subscription and God help you if you give them payment information. You would think a 'popular name' journal like this would be above the scam that they run. IMO you're much better off using a journalism service that doesn't steal from your bank account like highway robbers and cares little about accountability and integrity.
