I always used to check Wunderground every morning for my weather. It was my number one weather site over those other ones like Yahoo weather because it had this amazing, descriptive, clear graph. Graphs are amazing. It WAS amazing, but now it SUCKS.
This morning I got up and went to check Wunderground to see it it would be cloudy today.
Instead, my world exploded.
I can't find anything. The wonderful 10 day graph is no long on the front page, and you have to go around and click through different pages to get to it, which end up taking forever to load.
The entire interface is just cluttered with boxes. SO MANY BOXES. Unnecessary boxes for tonight, tomorrow, tomorrow night, ugh. Personally, I find it easier to understand the temperature quickly if it is more visual, like in a graph. Simply, it goes up, down, or stays the same. Done. Much easier than looking at little numbers and going through your brain to try and figure out the relevance (Don't know about that one. You may have a different opinion, but that is me, personally).
Then there is these little boxes with pollen, air quality, UV index all mixed in there with the temperature and rain. This isn't very organized. What is going on?! The health tab had all the things with HEALTH lined up nicely, with little charts to look at quickly. If you didn't wan't to see any health related things, it was fine. Just don't click on that tab.
It also doesn't seem to be very complete either, because when I click on the heading for pollen and other health-related things, it brings me back to the old health tab. THE HEALTH TAB. WHICH NO LONGER EXISTS. Similar to other features like settings, it still looks like the old design, with blue underlined tabs.
It's like a patched up mess.
Now that I got that out, my final word is:
Wunderground used to be very good. Now it is confusing, cluttered, and slow. I'm sad that I won't be using it anymore, because it is just terrible. I really would like there to be an option to use the older design; in that case, I would gladly come back.
Used to log into this daily for comprehensive and quick look at the upcoming days for rain/snow, temp and wind. Now it is horrible and even slower.
Seems to be the best in the NW and Hawaii. Weather.com / weather channel completely lacks accuracy, they don't even seem to try.
How could you take a poor website to completely useless?
What a joke. Slow loading and spawned malware on my system.
What an embarrassment.
Horrible! Intellicast pacific satellite gone! Doesn't load 10 day forecasts! Horrible! Failure in all facets.
The new Windstream layer looks like it could be very helpful, but I can find zero information about it. Here's an idea; how about a banner somewhere on the site with a link that says; HEY WE HAVE A NEW LAYER WE'RE SUPER EXCITED ABOUT FOR OUR INTERACTIVE MAP! CLICK TO FIND OUT MORE INFO. I assume like most high IQ clicks(not quite the word I want to use) they must figure if you don't know what they know already, your too dumb to bother with. I can barely chew gum and walk at the same time with a near handicapped 121 IQ so, I need to know some basic things to make use of the new layer; Does the name Windstream imply jet stream? If not, there is a ton of real estate between the ground and the ospheres. Where are the measurements taking place? What speed are the various colors etc? If TWC truly cared about their brand they would help their customers understand. Instead, they make 15 second clips, and discontinue emergency on air storm tracking just after the storm leaves a highly populated area because ad revenue goes down. I guess if they stayed on air to alert people in a town of 10,000 they'd lose their cocktail party privileges with the elites.
The ads load fine but not much after that. Used to be the perfect weather website with highly local weather conditions.
Maps are terrible. I used to be able to pinpoint precipitation using intellicast, now the maps are very general and no where near as informative.
I'll find another site for weather info. Weather Underground used to be excellent, now it's unusable for a long list of reasons. What a shame.
Now it's weather underground. This site is garbage. So slow and useless. Now I gotta find something else. So sad.
New app is worthless POS. I was a weather station and long time user. No more. Bye bye Weather Underground
I've had WU on my devices for almost a decade. It was a great design and was super useful. This latest "upgrade" is the worst. Bye bye WU
The new app is horrible. The worst app redesign I've ever come across. Guys, seriously, what are you thinking?
I can find nothing positive to say about the site. The first thing I used to do every morning is go to Weather Underground. No more.
I am like others - it used to be great, but lately all I get is "Try again later ". Well, my try again later is going to be a different website!
Just gets slower and slower. Finally had to switch.
Best to worst in a matter of 3 years. What a shame.
The newest changes finally did it in.
If you did it on purpose - you suck!
If not - then you don't know what you are doing. Go back to the far superior product.
WU was my go to weather app. I've given it 2 or 3 weeks... can't read it, can't figure out the local weather. They need to quickly redo the app.
This used to be Intellicast which was very good. When they became Weather underground, it became absolutely the WORST.
Answer: This was deliberate calculated sabotage for some reason
Answer: It won't come back. IBM bought The Weather Company to get at the data so they could package and sell that to their corporate customers using their "Watson" cloud services. Individuals mean nothing. That they've managed to so thoroughly destroy what was once the premiere weather site says a lot about the incompetence behind their core "Watson" products. You might want to tell IBM that.
Answer: They hired a bunch of idiots to manage and design their new site. This included removing features and gutting the radar.
Answer: Yes. We have many employees who come to work each day desperate to appear productive and relevant. We ask them to destroy functional lean websites with bloated nonsense. Meanwhile, our executives require more money so we like to devastate communicative websites with ad-infested infestations of pus-riddled idiocy. Thanks for asking!
Answer: Pointless giving feedback/complaints. I tried this and got an automated reply telling me how much better it was!
Answer: Your local Tv station meteorologist.
