This is one of the greatest concepts I've ever experienced. It's everything you need and nothing you don't and the perfect portions. My wife is an incredible cook and we can't go to restaurants because she doesn't like anything. She has loved every single recipe and thinks I'm a classically trained chef. Whether your an experienced cook or you can barely boil water, this concept works for everyone. If you can read, you can cook. And a lot of the recipes or some thing I never would've thought of fixing for myself. I cannot say enough about blue apron and the delicious meals. And the price is right as well. Dinner at a nasty Fast food place for two is almost the same price.
Wanted to check them out, and see what they had to offer. They took me straight to billing before I could see their menu. Not impressed! I'll stick with their competitor.

I have been a customer for almost 2 years. At first, things were good. In the last 3 months, the quality of both their ingredients and service have slipped quite a bit. Each week, there is a quality issue with ingredients or an ingredient is missing. Then 2 weeks ago, the entire shipment went missing. And most recently, yesterday I received 3 out of 4 orders for the week. An entire order was missing except the recipe for it. The frequency at which these things are happening is crazy. I would say that it is no longer worth the money they charge which is a premium and that is because the size of the portions are getting smaller.

I had some meals that sounded different but turned out great. Their choices range from meat and potatoes to Chinese steamed buns. Customer service is good and they have an active Facebook group. I learned some new cooking ideas and have remade several of their recipes that's how good they are.
Tip for consumers:
Go to their Facebook for recipe tips and reviews
They don't explain how their credits work, they don't give you the correct amount and their customer service is horrible. Was supposed to be given $230 in credits to be used over 6 weeks. Had to call customer service 3 times in 30 days about my credits but was never told they expire after 30 days so lost $55 in credits. Also there was a problem with all 4 boxes we got. Either the fresh produce was damaged or going bad or the sauce packets leaked all over everything. I like the meal plan concept so will look for a better one.

Just completed my first "3-meals for two" delivery and have been blown away! I've always loved cooking and Blue Apron removes all the stress in trying to create great meals. No shopping, no forgetting ingredients, and straight forward directions. I work 10-hour days and this system works great for me! There's a bit of work involved (slicing, dicing, etc.), but the trend results are fantastic! I'm hooked!
Go shopping, if you can order pea pod, find your own ingredients for three recipes. $15 worth of food for $60. So complicated, not worth it at all. Amount of garbage created by this delivery was shocking! Totally not eco friendly nor cost effective. Save your money.
Wanted to try something different. Have used Hello Fresh for years. First order with Blue Apron the fish was missing. Several orders had missing ingredients. One order was a day late. Very disappointed. Do not recommend.
I really like the meals I made with Blue Apron. The recipes were creative, easy and delicious. The food was generally well packaged. However, they simply do not have their packing/distribution system figured out. On average, nearly every other delivery was missing an ingredient. Sometimes just a small one (like a spice), sometimes a major one (like the peppers that were in the title of the recipe). They were prompt about apologizing and providing some credit on the next order, but realistically, you subscribe to these services so you don't have to go to the grocery store. I don't care about the money, I care about being able to make the meal in the recipe reliably, every week. I held on for a long time, hoping they'd get their act together, but they never did. They would also never engage in a discussion or explanation - just "So sorry! We'll pass your concern along. Here's some credit!" which I found really frustrating.
My wife and I decided to subscribe to Blue Apron. Tonight we got our first order ever from them. Astonishingly, two of our three meals came with NO protein (shrimp in one case, chicken in the other).
Customer Service admitted they get their orders wrong 10% of the time!
We made the Cajun Shrimp & Zucchini Bake substituting chicken from our freezer for the shrimp they didn't send. It did taste very good.
There are lots of alternatives to Blue Apron.
We'll have to see if they can quickly address their order accuracy problems. Being able to count on them delivering the order is essential.
Tip for consumers:
I can’t recommend Blue Apron at this point.

We made a meal from the ingredients Blue Apron shipped and used our own chicken.
Blue Apron should consider alternatives to how meals are packaged and shipped. There are too much packaging including plastic containers and bags which has no where to go, but into the environment. I cannot consider a relstionship with this company.
I selected the 4 meals for 2 people to be delivered on Monday. The first box, which was just last week, never delivered. FedEx uploaded a picture of the delivery without any landmarks--I live in an apartment, so the most I could see was that it was in one of the multiple buildings. It was not in my building or the next. Blue Apron was kind enough to give me a credit on my account. Now today (21st), Tuesday, I still haven't received my Monday box. It was delayed in transit, which means the food is one day older... I am moving on from Blue Apron and going back to HelloFresh (have never had delivery issues with them).
I live in a small city and so far my onsite delivery accuracy is at 50% I have complained and they credit my account but I cannot count on their delivery arriving on my chosen day and more than half of the time now it gets delivered to a neighbor who brings it by a day or two or three later, partially or fully de thawed. Ugh, I have to toss the whole mess and wait another week with pessimism that I will receive my order.
My wife and I tried Blue Apron for a couple weeks. I am a vegetarian and she rarely eats meat so we opted for the vegetarian selections. The price remained the same at approx. $60. So for 3 meals, basically 6 servings, we paid $10 per serving (for veggies and chickpeas as main dishes). I can buy groceries for a week for $60. The time it takes to prepare these meals is quite ridiculous. The time you save by not going to the grocery store is spent in the kitchen toasting nuts and making special sauces which require more effort than it's worth. Although the quality is great, I cannot justify $10 per serving. I am reviewing the vegetarian option only as I have heard good things about the options with meat from my family members.
The Blue Apron serves you the best if you are busy working mother but need a nutritious meal for your kids. Their ready to make meals delivered at your door step makes meals very convenient and opportune.
Super excited to try my blue apron coupon. It was, however, a huge disappointment. The meals are over rated, boxed, over salted garbage. They deliver on time but you have to sift through all the ingredients in the box before even starting to prepare. And when I say prepare, I mean PREPARE. You have to do everything!
The food is not worth the high ticket price. When they say 'free meals' they are lying
Received our second blue apron meal this week. The ingredients inside came bruised and inedible with the Greek yogurt and cheese opened and spilled all over the other contents of the bags. I emailed a complaint with pictures and was issued a $13 credit to my account? Obviously unhappy with the solution I called customer services to ask for a refund to my card. They stated they were unable to do that and could only credit my account for the items. I spoke with 2 different people who apologized but were completely unhelpful in a solution. I opted to cancel the subscription and take my loses. Poorly managed customer service. I don't usually write reviews but this one left such a bad taste in my mouth I felt the need to warn others. Not a customer friendly company when they are obviously the ones that screwed up. Disappointed
Great concept. I only cook for 2 so the portion control is perfect. They overestimate on the calories usually. I initially freaked out on the 600-700 estimated calories they provide on the cards. I downloaded the ingredients and most of the time the estimated calories are way over. That's a good thing for my waistline. Service is consistent. Once I didn't receive an ingredient. I wrote an email and received a reply within an hour. On the weekend! If you don't like the selection you can skip the delivery that week. I've used Blue Apron for 4 months now and very happy with it.
3 of the 5 deliveries I received were missing ingredients, twice affecting 2 of the 3 recipes for the week. One of the deliveries did not show up at all! When I contacted customer service I received a canned "we're so sorry" response and a credit for 1 of the 2 meals. The whole purpose of this concept is to make life easier for the subscriber by providing them with an all inclusive dinner. Great concept---- lousy execution.
Too bad, because the recipes that I did make, were very good. Stay away unless your are seeking weekly aggravation.
Had a referral from a friend who uses blue apron. Was charged full price and then received a credit. Paused my next meals while I tasted what I had received. Not worth the money. Was out of town and away from e-mail when I found a pending charge on my credit card. Cancelled the service and will dispute the charge. All communication so far has been negative. No customer service...
I worked for blue apron a few months ago. This place is very much unorganized and nasty, dirty and the employees don't care... I watched boxes go out the door that had been put on the floors fell in garbage cans and I saw a manager by the name of Paul use produce out of a filthy garbage can. It was so bad they use to give us free boxes I never wanted one. I also warned my family and friends. They clean the facility when osha or someone important shows up. They are very racist. They use the blacks and Mexicans and lie to them and this keeps drama in the work place. They pay their employees based on the color of their skin not the experience they may have...
So if you got a box with bad produce. Missing items that's why... that place should be shut down... Richmond facility is horrible just Google buzz feed
I have used Blue Apron for a while now; not only do they constantly leave ingredients out, but this week they didn't send the entire box! I emailed them twice and left a voicemail - no surprise that nobody got back to me. Use them only if you want them to steal your money. Thieves.
The instructions are hard to follow and in every box there has been ingredients missing last week I order quiche eggs were not there nor was the shallot and preparing their meals is a lengthy process and often does not come out right. I'm cancelling my membrrship. I also have tried peach dish and I love them!
I agree bait and switch. Charged before you even can try for the next delivery. I am confident this model will lose customers. My friends who said try it were embarrassed and they dropped them. Good takes way to long to prep is average at best. The prep is a turn off and food culdnot be made ahead. HATE IT
The only reason why I'm not giving it a one star is because I had fun making the meals with my wife, but really, you can have the same fun by buying ingredients and making it yourself. I am upset with blue apron because they make it difficult to cancel your subscription. If you aren't careful you will be charged 60 dollars without noticing. I believe the way the have their payment method set up is unfair and I'm disappointed that a large company like this would do that.
Blue Apron makes cooking fun and easy. We'll provide you with all the ingredients that you need to make a delicious meal in exactly the right proportions.
