I was pleasantly surprised in how wonderful everyone was at this location! Seriously, wonderful people and made the entire process easy and stress free! I had an appt at 8am. I was OUT by 8:50am. Every person smiled and genuinely, had pleasant all over them! Go HERE! Thanks Hudson st for making my experience a great one. I appreciate good service.
Nothing on this website is clear. It is as if, once they take your money, you're on your own. I paid for the family plan, allowing 4 users, but only saw one (me). After some thought, I filled out two applications but had apparently opened more than 4 in my struggling to understand the website. This maxed out my account, making it so I could print NONE of them. Not even the first four. They then wanted me to pay another $30 to "upgrade" my account to family to create 4 more "accounts". Stay far away.
I agree with everyone else who has reviewed this fraudulent company. They present as an official government website and take your money for a form that is free. Makes me sick to my stomach that I gave them private information. This should be illegal!
I can't believe I fell for this scam. The worst part is I gave them all my personal information. They do not provide a service but just take your money. I'm talking to my credit card company first thing as well as Life Lock.
My wife just fell for this scam. Luckily her credit card company flagged and prevented the transaction. They do nothing for you. If you are looking for a government website, make sure it ends in. Gov.
I am stupid and did this late at night and didn't realize it was NOT the government at all or that they didn't even help process the application. I paid $70 for them to fill out the application papers and probably steal my personal information. Let's be serious. The application questions are easy!
This site poses as an official window for online passport applications, but it is NOT. Fortunately I woke up to my stupidity before paying for nothing, but not before giving them my social security number. Hateful creeps. Why can't law enforcement protect us from this type of thing?
I google passport renewal application and get their site. I was totally hoodwinked. I'm ticked because I am super aware person about these types of scams but was late to the party here. Definitely escalating to NY Consumer protection.
I typically do not fall for these type of things. I did at least stop short of putting in my credit card info, but they now have ALL of the rest of my private information. Totally useless site and should be shut down.
Fell for this like so many others. Acts like an official site, now they have all your private info. And google makes money putting them at the top of the list. My bad for clicking but there are so many people getting tricked google should be ashamed.
I filled out the forms and paid them thinking this was the passport office. When I met with an employee to process the passport and showed her I had paid $38.00 she said it was not part of the US Passport renewal. I now feared my information was shared and there would be fraudulent activity. I put a fraud watch on the credit reporting agencies. I found I could delete my account with these folks which I am not sure if that is true, but I did. Beware!
Do not use this company. I would select no stars if that were an option. I applied for a renewal passport with them 3 months ago. I didn't receive any kind of confirmation from them so I followed up with phone calls and emails with no response for almost a week. I went ahead and applied for my passport through a government site and then cancelled my application with Passport USA and requested a refund. At first they refused, stating they had already started working on my application. Bull$#*!. After additional discussion they agreed to refund and promises that would happen within 30 days. It didn't, with their blame placed on the company who processes. More bull$#*!.
This company is the worst I have ever dealt with. Unbelievably bad.
This is a total scam. The writing in fine Blue Print at the bottom of the first page that seems insignificant gives the correct information that you are paying only for filling out the form. However, the actual government website: travel.state.gov... is actually just as easy if not simpler to fill out than the passport USA. Org site. When paying for passportUSA, it states "just the document". I thought this meant I was paying only for the passport book since this is a document and one early option was to pay for a book and other things that I did not want. I have reported them to my credit card company which refunded my money, they are looking into this. I have also filed a formal complaint with e-commerce.gov which is the international Better Business Bureau. Do the same!
I, too, used this site and almost processed my husbands through them as well. But, as it turned out, when I visited the post office for stamps, the postal clerk informed that there should not be a charge... it's free to apply! Not a happy camper about it, but at least I didn't go ahead with my husbands. Out $38.00!
I should have paid better attention to what I was doing, so I blame myself, but this site is NOT a United States government site. It's not even located in the United States. I hurriedly entered my information and my phone automatically filled the payment information, only to find out that all you get is an empty form that you would get free anyway. I had to file a fraud report with my bank and the charge was reported out of a bank in Switzerland.
Take your chances with this if you want, but it appears this company is making money off people who don't know any better. They almost got me.
Out right Crooks. Wife applied to this crooked web-Site and was taken for $110.00. Sent in forms to correct Gov location and was rejected. I did not get involved till after all had taken place but warning to anyone using "nothing but a scam!"
This site essentially charges you for forms that can be downloaded for free. Don't make the mistake I did by thinking that they handle the form submission process. The fee also does not go towards the renewal fee associated with your passport. Considering I already had the form completed before I signed up with them, I asked if I could get a refund and cancel my account. They did not accommodate my request.
I wanted to do a follow up on my review of September 27,2017. As I reported, I notified my bank. They immediately returned my money to my account, and then began an investigations. I didn't have to do anything more except wait about 90 days when they contacted me to say that the case was closed in my favor. So all it takes is a little time and a phone call to your bank to get your money back.
Tip for consumers:
I don't believe they save your info. They are only interested in the $38.00. I, too, had filled out all the information, with no bad consequences. My advice a phone call to your bank is well worth the time.
Wire fraud is similar to regular fraud, except that it takes place over phone lines or involves electronic communications. The legal definition of wire fraud has four elements:
The defendant created or participated in a scheme to defraud another out of money or property. Federal wire fraud is a federal offense and is typically investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, but state laws and charges can also apply.
Everyone should contact their States - Attorney General Office -
The phone connection was so bad we could barely communicate but I was assured my private (HA!) information was not at their disposal and that the $38.00 charge would be removed. (The $38.00 charge is the least of my concerns.) She also said that if the company was a scam or fraud operation that their site would no longer be up. I tried to sell her the Golden Gate Bridge, but she was too savvy.:/
Caveat Emptor folks!
I just got ripped off for $49 because "passport-usa" was the first site to come up when I asked google "How can I renew my passport?" They do a very good job (using fine print) of appearing to be a us govt site. They charge $49 for a form you can get for free from the govt and fill out yourself by hand. Shame on google for not putting the use govt site first:
https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/have-passport/renew.html
Tip for consumers:
That this is NOT a US Govt site and that they charge $49 for a form you can get for free from the govt and fill out yourself without ntheir "help."
Like everyone here, I fell for their official looking google description, so completed the application. THEN I came to the page where they wanted $38. Realizing my mistake, and having found this page, I deleted the info. But was it really deleted?!
Don't pay anything! Only go to. Gov website for free passport online forms. I cancelled my credit card. You only send payment with the actual printed passport application. Always check carefully for website integrity.
They take your money and then charge a $2.97 overseas payment fee. Why would a USA passport service be billing from ANOTHER COUNTRY? Yes it's the top of the search in Google and looks legit. Don't do it! Thankfully I rushed to my bank and they gave me the charges back and filed a fraud paper. Such a shame this is still allowed online to scam others
Like so many other people, I was fooled by this scam company because I mistook it for the legitimate U.S. Government website for passport renewal. As soon as I clicked the button to make the $38 payment, it dawned on me that there isn't any other fee besides the standard renewal fee. Alarms went off in my head, and I immediately contacted them to request a refund. They sent me an e-mail stating that my purchase had been refunded, and that the payment would be removed from my bank statement within 24 hours. It's now 20 days later, and still no refund despite my sending two follow-up e-mails to them and being assured that it wouldn't take longer than 15 days. DO NOT be fooled by this scam website.
There's is absolutely nothing "easy" about this service. It's $99 for them to type your form up for you and have the post office pick it up from your house. I've had to email them countless times for errors in the form, inaccurate postal service pick up times, inquiries about whether the mailed package has a tracking number, and why I wasn't given information all upfront about the process. They take the $ quickly out of your account and a refund is near impossible. The form itself does look legit when I compared it to one off of the passport site but it's not been worth the money to go around and around with these people. Quite honestly I'm more worried now about identity theft because this company IS NOT in the USA. I didn't realize that initially. Save time and $ and just fill the form out yourself.
I gave all of my minor son's info to these horrible people.
I called them and they removed the charge-*******149
If it reappears I will call my credit card to dispute.
I also submitted an Experian fraud alert to be safe.
