Skoreit.com has a rating of 1.8 stars from 66 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Skoreit.com most frequently mention free bids, gift card, and bid pack problems. Skoreit.com ranks 151st among Penny Auction sites.
The site is legit, because you people don't know what you are doing you knock it. Penny bidding is very strategic, you can't expect to just spend $100 single bid and win a $500 TV. However, if you spend time and money you can actually do very well. The reason people never post good things is the people who are successful at it don't want more competition so why would they say how great it is to drive more people to the site to bid against them? Also they offer OT on most their auctions so your rationale goes right out the window right away. If there is a $50 gift card and it was 300 bids it just means that 5 people paid the retail price and only lost $2 shipping and handling that was charged while someone did win the item below retail
This is a gambling site, pure and simple. After losing $100 on buying bids where I did not win the auction, I simply lost all my money. In a normal auction, you don't pay unless are the high bidder. With skoreit you pay everytime you place a bid at. 60 per bid, and since items up for auction only increase by. 01 each time, an item that sells for $10.00 actually has 1000 bidders or $600! And if you don't win, you just lost all your money. There is tremendous risk involved. It's gambling. An equitable business transaction involves exchange of goods or services for money spent. However, when you spend money, in hopes that you might win, that is not a business transaction, it's gambling! If you like to gamble, then you'll enjoy this site. However, it is a little deceitful to advertise this as anything other than Gambling. I too heard about Skoreit on ESPN's Mike & Mike, which gave it a bit of credibility in my book. I hope they would pull their endorsement from this website

This sight is simply a gambling sight with the risk completely on the participant. I feel bad that people are being duped into this with free bids, and many may, and will spend more money (that they may or may not have) to try and win something. It is very important for a buyer to beware, but shame on the advertisers who promote high risk products such as Skoreit. Dan Patrick has lost my respect. His integrity should follow through from top to bottom. He obviously is in it for the bucks, and cares nothing for his listeners, of which many will be hurt by his endorsement.
You would be better off just throwing your money out the window!
The site does not explain what your actual costs are so if you are the "winning bidder" you have no idea how much it is actually going to cost you in the end.
I just got off the phone with their "customer service" person and she tried to say everything was explained on the website. This is a blatant lie! The only way you will see what the actual costs are would be if you added an auction into your "watch list " and then you can see... well... not really... because you are not seeing the "shipping costs" or anything else they add in.
Stick with eBay!
This site is total bull sh*t. I bought 60 bids and was able to get some free bids with promo codes and was well over 100. As other stated, there is no way you can win without investing hundreds of dollars into buying bids. You definitely see the same names winning over and over again. They said they would refund your money for the bids you don't use. I closed my account with 41 bids and they refunded me 1/7 the amount that I should have been. Don't waste your time!
Please read all of the reviews before spending any money or time on Skoreit.com. It is a complete waste of time and money. I found out the hard way and I regret ever signing up. The company "lures you in" by giving you free bids, which are no where near enough to win anything. I always thought that I could win an auction, but never did. I am very frustrated and mad that I ever signed up and registered for skoreit.com.
Some guy just spent 1033 bids to win a 240 bid pack. (Auction# *******) Looking at their profile they have won $183 worth of products and have spent $696 worth of bids. How does that make any sense. Either an insider or just plain dumb?

This is a decent site and not a scam, but I haven't had a good experience overall. I ordered an item on 12/5 and it still says "processing" two weeks later. Starting to wonder if I'll ever get my item. Stay far far away.
Have to buy BIDS for various high prices then use them as fast as you can. They take your money as fast as you can hit the enter key. Where they really bend you over and give to you is at the final auction close. I watched a auction close for 30 minutes and whenever bidding stopped for a split second, it would say (closing once) or (closing twice) then the bidding would start again. This happened almost every minute for 30 minutes. These people need to be shot and burned.
Please avoid this site at all costs. As noted by an earlier poster, they are literaly stealing your money. I'm usually not the type of person to down a website without it seriously being a terrible site. SkoreIt.com has been advertising on ESPN radio so I decided to try it and got several free bids using promo codes. However, once I started bidding I came to find out that individuals without a significant financial backing had no chance in winning. After being on the site for ONLY 3 days I could completely recognize who the power bidders were and they did not lose. I even tried small auctions for gift cards, but still was unable to win anything. I lost $30 to the site and it feels like I was robbed by a casino. Take my advice and save your money. You won't be winning anything on that site.
Hmm I just noticed, when they list upcoming auctions they have a start time and earliest end time, usually around 3 hours later. How the help can they predict how much minimum an auction will end, unless its a scam and they are hiding the fact that they use company robots to keep the auctions going and by bidding them up artificially for the first couple hours. Anyway this is a small site trying to lure people with Hugh end prizes, but they only attract 2400 people per day. I would try a legitimately sure like bigdeal or gopenny
The learning curve is far to expensive and time consuming. You don't have to be a genius to figure out you need to win bid paks in order to compete for an actual product and even then an auto bidder seems to always have more bids than you. Skoreit stole about $300 from me and I won $58 worth of golf balls. Lesson learned, I'll never go back
I realized pretty quickly this is a ripoff. Not just this one but all of them. I went to the government website to report this fraud which everyone should do. I paid by credit card and actually got a refund for the$125 I spent. Took a few weeks but they refunded my money. I feel fortunate. What got me to try it was the consumer advocate for a tv station that said so an so penny auction is the best one. Turns out the so called reporter is just a picture as well as the tv station did not exist. Buyer beware!
These penny auctions are no better than gambling. Since you have no way of knowing when the auction will end or how often you will be outbid you can easily use all your pre-paid bids in vain. In my opinion these sites should be regulated just like casinos, or shut down altogether. Don't waste your time and money, if you are willing to bid in an auction go to e-bay where at least you know the price you are willing to pay and if someone outbids you its no loss.
Im also a player in skoreit. My husband tried it first and he lost approximately $188 for buying (2) 120 bids n (1) 60 bids without winning a single item. He was so furious and said the site is scam. Then I observed the site and tried to develop a strategy and opened a new account. I started with small items and won 3 items in a day. I was not aware that they have a limit of 3 items a day and 12 items a month until I won my first item. After winning 12 items all in all I ended up having $180 gain. My advise is study your opponent and timing is a really big factor.
Yeah once was enough for me. $9.90 and how quickly it goes on this site. Forget that. If it looks to good to be true it usually is. After reading the better BBB complaints and how many complaints there were for this site in a 45 day period. Account closed. Not ever would I do that site again..
I had been saving and saving and saving all my my promo bids. They send out a code for three free bids about 2-3 times a week. I finally got up to 120 bids and won a $25 Shell gift card for $1.50 by using only 21 bids. It was definitely worth it! However, I would not and will not pay for bids. It's just outrageous. If you're strategic like me, you can hoard your free bids and win a nice prize for yourself. Just my 2 cents!
Having participated in many penny auction websites, I can honestly say that I like Skoreit, the best!
Of course, just like anything else their is a learning curve to using penny auctions and no matter what websites you may participate in, you'll always have those who use it improperly.
I see less of that on Skoreit than on other penny auction websites.
The added bonus is there sports memoribilia stuff that is specific to skoreit!
I have never really reviewed a website before, but I tried skoreit and felt pretty strongly that this site is just a complete waste of time and money. The only thing that I am sore about is that I didn't come up with the concept first! It's ungodly how much money they are making selling iPads and iPod touches. I read the guidelines and started with 60 bids plus some promo bids and couldn't even pull off a $15 Subway gift card. In the end, I wish I would have spent my $30 some odd dollars at the casino. I might have had better odds.
Skore it is the best penny site out right now. If your smart with bids and watch auctions when you first start out and bid at the right times its not hard to win. Ive invested probally around 150 figuring high into the site and have won 400 or more worth of items. Its a great site and they ship fast! Hope this helps
I am now convinced that Skoreit is using shills to drive up the bids. I just watched someone named rosegracie spend 16 bids & $1.60 and 20 bids & $6.08 to win an auction for 15 bids. At about $. 60 a bid you are either stupid or a shill.
Don't try this website! RIPOFF! Besides the 10 "free bids" they give you, I bought $39.00 worth of bids and used them up bidding on two items. I didn't understand up front that the increments are VERY small and you can use up your bids on pennies of increase. Also, in both cases I was consantly outbid by a bidder called "... wont give up..." that I suspect is an inside deal.
DON'T TOUCH IT!
I have been watching Skoreit pretty close and I have to say I am disappointed. They are using shill bidders and it became apparent when I noticed an auto bid that was setup on an auction to win 240 bids. The auto bid used 1,200 bids to try to win 240 bids and stopped once the bidding reached $40. Now another auto bidder has taken over and is already up to 245 bids to win 240 bids. Skoreit is stealing your money if you let them. Bidder beware!
I have been to a few online auction sites and have seen first hand what can happen to them when people win big items. One of the main reasons shipping takes so long is that the site wants to make sure that your payment for the item will process at the bank so there not loosing monies. Think about it, if you were going to sell a car to a third party wouldn't you want to make sure the check cleared the bank before you handed over the title? Same logic in this case. Bidders win items and receive them then turn around and call up the bank and void the charges. The site is out the cost of the item and the item itself. It makes good sense to have a waiting period for items over $50 so they don't loose money. As for bidpacks they give them out because they don't loose any money on them because they can make them all day long for free. Just my two cents.
I signed up, used the promo code BIDNOW for 16 free bids, watched a gift card auction (and bid once just for the heck of it) and I totally get it. This site is NOT a scam, but it IS extremely based on strategy. Very cool—my first time with a penny auction. You pay $. 60 per bid (I guess), plus the final bid price, so really you want to bid as few times as possible.
Skoreit, on the other hand, can rake in the dough often (not all of YOUR dough, just the dough of everyone bidding).
For example: The gift card I watched was a $50 gift card, but it sold for $. 73, meaning only 73 bids. 73 x $. 60 is $43.80, so Skoreit actually took a loss. (Skoreit purchased the $50 gift card and sold it at a loss of $6.20.—Skoreit, btw, owns all the products, this isn't like eBay.)
Don't feel bad for Skoreit, though. I found an iPod Touch that sold for $37. Xx... that's over 3,000 bids! 3,000 x. 60 is $1800, minus the iPod Touch price, which was $300. KAPOW Skoreit just raked in the dough... but the winning bidder *could* have bid only once, meaning s/he would've paid the $. 60 bid price, $37. Xx for the winning total, plus shipping. Still a good bargain, unless they bid all their money away.
Why my 3 star rating? Because the selection ain't all that great, and one thing I *did* want (I saw it and decided I must have it lol), there wasn't even an auction for it. So enh. I closed my account and I'm wiser for it. But very fun to dip toes into these waters for half an hour.
SkoreIt! Is a new kind of shopping site where you can bid and buy items up to 99% off retail price.
