on 4/19/16There is nothing Liberal about City Data don't believe that lie above. That is a right wing white nationalist run site. LOL@ Liberal.
City-data is the farthest from liberal you can get lol. It's the kind of place where you can get banned for calling out blatant racism and other forms of hate and ignorance. You don't even have to be rude, just disagree, and it's over for you if certain mods notice.
The purpose seems to me to promote liberal ideas and to suppress conservative speech.
There isn't any. It's a fiery dumpster of pathetic power trip loser mods.
John is actually right. I have been banned 3 times from the city data forums, I will not be signing up again, and every time I have been banned it was because I posted facts about what legalizing recreational marijuana, and what illegal immigration, has done to my home state Colorado. Every time I was banned it was by a leftist moderator. If you say anything, and I mean anything that goes against the far lefts views or opinions you will be accused of trolling and then permanently banned.
John says the purpose is to promote liberal ideas and suppress conservative speech. I'd swap them around :) . I was on it to
Mainly answer questions about Asheville, NC since we were new
Here and I learned a lot. But who knows - probably for advertising
And grabbing email and IPaddr. Info. It's certainly not to be able
To nicely express our opinions because opinions are way too often
Dinged.
Eva, I wish I could tell you where to go to use a non-biased website to help folks. I gave up looking. Maybe the best place is in front of us sitejabber. I haven't received any demerits or been kicked off.
City data forum is just a place where a bunch of bitter people got together and decided to attack anything that types on that forum. Yesterday, i was browsing there.
A person who goes to the gym (which obviously the mods/members DON'T) was asking about what her alternatives were because she was stared at a lot. Anyone who goes to the gyms ESPECIALLY in the Southwest regions know that folks don't work out in those gyms. They stand around ogling, staring, grab as**ing, chasing people down, etc. Because it's a social club and happy hour for them.
LAOTZUMINDFU was the FIRST member to rip into the young lady saying she was narcissistic, and no one was looking at her, she had a mental problem, that she "acts like she's the center of the universe" has a huge ego, and was probably nothing to look at.
I was shocked. LaoTzu couldn't seem to type fast enough. She was using capital letters, exclamation marks, expletives, anything to show she was angry. Others chimed in saying "You told her!" "I wish i could have said that" "Yeah!". Authoritative, hurtful language from an obviously inexperienced individual who sits in front of a computer all day to someone who at least goes to a gym.
The only other 2 forums i know that are like that are Bodybuilding.com (Members that cheered on and assisted a kid who did a web cam suicide), and The Forum Site. Most of the members there LIVE in the UK, but are the "authority" of American life because they watch it on television. :(
The forum is moderated by power hungry trolls. There is nothing liberal about the sit, it's actually pretty far right wing. John's comments were probably so outlandish that they thought he was a liberal trolling to make conservatives look bad, That's why they banned hiim
I think the City Data forums probably grew unintentionally from the original purpose of City Data. They originally probably only wanted forums about cities. But even those have unreliable information. And even the main city pages of City Data have unreliable information. The best usage of City Data is probably to just ignore it and use other sources of information. The internet has millions of times more useful information than you could ever find on City Data. There are lots of forums about different cities. Even the official websites of the cities themselves are probably more reliable sources of information than City Data.
I think the people who habitually post on City Data Forums are probably mostly old people who don't know much about forums, and found the City Data forums when they were looking for information about cities. They probably got in the habit of posting there, and might still not be aware of other forums than City Data. If you read what they post, you will realize a lot of them are very old, even older than a lot of nursing home residents. You can't expect old people to always have reasonable opinions, nor to always be polite. There's a reason why so many old people are considered "grumpy".
As for the moderators being grumpy too, who knows? Maybe they're old too. They certainly seem to have a lot of moderators. Which implies they're all volunteers with lots of time on their hands. That implies they're probably retired or something. Or maybe even nursing home residents. Who knows? But we shouldn't censure them for being grumpy, when it's well known that lots of old people tend to be grumpy. It comes with the territory. Just post your questions somewhere else than City Data, and the problem is solved.
Forum needs to be closed down. At least until they can get mods that aren't 187 years old or have an open mind. I am sure John above me here means well but it is an EXTREMELY conservative site. Mods though are the ones that ruined this forum regardless.
My students was also banned for giving me a good review from my computer. This Forum should be taken down!
Funny, had no idea. Reported Nazi speech twice, and was banned from City Data.
Terrible site. Full of cowards who know any challenge to their Nazi beliefs will be banned. Sort of like that fat pig Limbaugh who turns down the volume on challenging callers as if they are stumped by his Nazi arguments. A bunch little girls at that site.
What the original intent of this forum was about, isn't necessarily what it has become. If you dig past the flotsam and jetsam, you'll probably be able to glean useful information from genuinely kind and helpful people. But all too often, there are those who are so bored with their lives or on the job at their desk, who demand stimulation and take full advantage of their anonymity to make demeaning and hurtful statements, or to get on their political soapbox, that help nobody but themselves. If it was properly moderated, the site could of kept it's purity.
