Listed my first item using a UK warehouse however when checking on my Ebay it said it would be shipped from china in a estimated time of 30 days

The item location should be China by default when you list products from CJ.
You can change the item location for each product on eBay, or modify the default address information for future listings by Account > Address.

Almost all these warehouses are in China; a person in any country can build their warehouses using CJ. But the product comes from China.
