For myself, will use ebay as a last resort. Ebay is a den of thieves. Had one seller send me a phone book and sex book in place of sander I won to show he sent item of weight and shipped so he could collect off paypal/ebay, found out this seller had ripped off many before ebay closed his "store/ ripoff factory" down. I know they claim to have separated ebay and paypal but my credit card company said its smoke and mirrors, that they still work together. Ebay is on their way out!

I hope so! EBay do nothing other than thieve money off everyone who uses their site. They commit fraud, lie, refuse to honor agreements they make, ruin your reputation, and your life

I support the fact that ebay is full of thieves! I bought a mobile cover for rs 500 and the item was a duplicate 1, china made. I got a similar opinion from a friend of mine who bought it for rs 1000 and it was not original. I got a deo which also was not the original one. EBAY is the worst online store i have seen. It does not even display the reviews of the items. They are not confident i guess to display the reviews! Coz ppl will come to know how horrible their service is!

No way. As bad as I feel like they treated me... I still buy things off of that site all the time. But now I go to the "Buy it now" more than I do the bidding process. In my opinion I don't feel like Ebay bidding process is completely honest or up to date because of what they did to me. They have convinced me and encouraged me to look around at other sites more than I used to. But I do compare Amazon and eBay (with their "buy it now" category) against each other all the time and it appears to me that Ebay and the "Buy It Now" seems to win alot. I think that may be because of Ebay's willingness to have an easy review system that Amazon does not make as consistant or convenient. It's just a shame that the review system that it makes eBay stand out was ignored by ebay when it applied to them... and the negligent way I believe they treated me not to mention giving away my high bid to someone else. So saying all that to answer your question... no eBay is not obsolete and in my opinion they are just lazy and ignorant when it comes to integrity and customer service. They will be around for a long time especially if they up their honesty issues... even if they are on a breathing machine. If you are patient and don't get in a hurry to buy something use the Buy It Now tool and look for free shipping. It's true that some sellers could be accused of jacking up their prices a little to cover the shipping and make it free but a lot of times their price is still cheaper with Free Shipping. I hope that my opinion helped.

For buyers it is pretty good. They pay lots of money to google to get the search results on the internet, but I pity the seller who thinks they will get rid of unwanted items. I think it works if a seller has 100 of an item that they paid almost nothing for.

Hi Michael
The answer is no. Unlike a decade ago that eBay had any competitions, these days other online marketplaces are seriously competing with e bay, that's why eBay has implanted the buyer protection plan. The nature if that plan is to accept whatever buyer says against the seller, encourage buyers to return the item and force tge seller to pay for back and forth shipping. I now feel that e bay had more sellers than buyers.
Good luck.

The eBay model is definitely outdated and self destructive. If things go awry, as they often do, getting eBay support is virtually impossible. Various entities are chipping away at them, and they will be gone with time... but it will take time... as they are way too big.

I have no idea, it use it whenever I need or want something and it has been good to me in delivery time and price is always good. I like them. Ebay still does command big sales and prompt service.
