Secondly, when you check the reviews, take your time to read reviews that are not "Outstanding experience" - the few long reviews from different buyers. Pay attention to the English, some sellers have poor writing skills, what do you expect from them? Lastly, when you send a message to the buyer, ask for a sample.
Be careful, I was using their service and bought website visitors that were not provided. Instead, when I asked for proof from the seller, the seller reporting me to Fiverr saying I was unprofessional and threatening them. You are not allowed to leave bad reviews if you do Fiverr blocks you from using their services.
Hey Cindy. Look for reviews that are more than a couple of words. Reviews that talk about what happened, the process, the communication etc. "Outstanding Experience" is just the standard review that pops up when no comments are added.
Talk to a seller first with some private messages. Ask for more reference material of the work they do. The biggest mistake that people make... (a lot of people. And apparently they come complain about their own idiocy here and pretend its Fiverr's fault, or the sellers fault.) is to not vet the seller before ordering. Many sellers on Fiverr are great people who work hard and offer quality goods, talk to a few and you fill find the one who communicates the best, shows the best refernces and has a combination of timely responses and good reviews. THAT is your seller.
Also, finding a good seller is a process. It wont, and shouldn't happen in just a couple of minutes. The prices offered on Fiverr are already dirt cheap, and so many stingy people go there thinking they should get top notch everything no matter who they order from whenever they want no questions asked... wrong, just flat wrong. It is up to the buyer to find a seller who is the right fit.
An example. A buyer ordered a video animation from me using a particular program... I am an illustrator. I do not do animation, I do not even know what program he was talking about. When I cancelled... he gave me a horrible review claiming I was a fraud and a terrible seller. It is idiots like that who give Fiverr a bad review. And there are far too many of them.
"Outstanding Experience" only shows up when the user has chosen a 5 star rating, but has chosen not to leave a personalized comment. If the customer chose four stars without a comment, it would say "Good Experience", three is " Okay Experience " and so on.
Read the negative reviews. If the WORST ones are about timing and late submissions, and not quality, THOSE are the good sellers. It takes a long time to complete a MOUNTAIN of work for no money.
Trust me.
If the negative reviews are about quality or communication issues, move on.
Cindy, you are right because the Fiverr person will beg for a good review or they will do it over. This doesn't mean that they are capable of doing a job like you want. It is a hit and miss and the reviews do not help. However, for the prices they charge you can afford to make a mistake. Just look at their work and select the sellers that has been around a while that have 100's of good reviews. Most will refund the money if you don't like the work instead of getting a bad review.
