I have been scammed on FIVERR by an artist. The customer service is terrible. I filled in and tried to send their firm ten times without success. Undesired tin I raised a disputed with PayPal. They responded then! I don't think they liked it! They emailed me saying that they had an excellent customer support team and to drop my OayPal dispute. I didn't! But I'd like to know what they do about scammers? They say my money is in my FIVERR balance but I can't see it there. Surely if shouod be refunded anyway. I shall continue with PayPal and attempt to report this scamming artist myself. Has anyone else been scammed?

The artist makes next to nothing after Fiver takes their fees. However Fiver doesn't pay them at all until you accept the finished work. So I don't understand how you got scammed if you accepted the job as complete. If Fiver charged you for a job you never accepted then file a complaint, post a review, but for $5 I wouldn't lose a lot of sleep over it. Just never do business with them again and be glad it was only $5. People have lost far more on internet fraud.

Yes! But I received my money back after disputing the charge with PayPal. I'll never do business with them again.

Fiverr is basically an escrow service. They hold your money and it is not given to the Seller until 2 weeks (or 1 week for Top Rated Sellers) after you accept the order OR if the seller submits a delivery and you don't respond in 3 days. Then it's considered delivered.

You have the ability to request a cancellation with the seller -- tell them you need to cancel for some reason, and the seller should agree and then neither party is penalized. You get your money back into your Fiverr account, but you cannot leave a review for the seller at that point.

Even if you walked away with a product, and something wrong happened the seller isn't getting money for 1-2 weeks. You can complain to Fiverr or the seller, and the Seller and you can both contact customer service and ask them to reverse the order. The money comes out of escrow back into your account.

I'm trying to help, but this seems more like a place where unhappy people come to gripe about Fiverr. I have many repeat orders from many happy customers, so they have to be doing something right -- and if there were zero quality sellers, why would these people keep coming back to me?!

It's not always easy to find both cheap and good quality service. Perhaps this is the problem? In other words, most people are attracted to Fiverr because they think they can get great quality for no money. I get a lot of people who ask for a lot for $5. Without realizing I only get $4 of that $5. I turn a lot of buyers away. I'm the wrong fit for someone who would rather it be cheap than it be done right.

Unfortunately there isn't anything you can do but move on. It's time, money and energy wasted. Fiverr is in the business of providing cheap services and we all have heard the old "you get what you pay for" saying.

The customer support team at Fiverr is non existent. They mock you with first showing empathy and that they've reached out to the seller. Ultimately they do not have your money and they are just the middle man between you and the seller. One would hope
They keep count of how many complaints an individual seller gets and eventually say's..."maybe it's time this seller be dropped".

Other than complaining and I know the seller I worked with hated negative feedback, there isn't anything you can do.

Save yourself the stress, right the negative review and move on.

Good luck,

Dina

In my caseFiver never responded and I'm not sure if the artist was ever contacted. I've still been trying to contact Fiver for months and I get absolutely not response. Not only that, PayPal will not back me up. There is a record that I paid but no record of an email with work ever being sent to me but PayPal says the can do nothing about it. PayPal does not stand behind their promise to fairly investigate. I've been trying to contact Fiver for months and I get absolutely not response.

Fortunately for me no money changed hands. In fact the whole process of who gets paid and when is to me rather confusing. Although it does appear to me that given your experience once you accept the quotation then you pay and it becomes out of your hands.
My basic issue as mentioned in my post was it appeared the job could be done for a fiver and it transpired the quote was much more.
The other issue which terminated my interest was that the person who was going to do the SEO work for me needed my email address which was my login in address for my website and Fiverr wouldn't permit to give my email address so that he could go into my website and do the SEO work.
The basic concept of Fiverr is very good for both parties and hopefully someone will come along and do a better job.

My overall experience is that no business done on this site is worth the trouble. In this case the play on words from the other side would also be "let the Seller Beware"! I've put goods on the site for sale and

This makes no sense. How exactly were you scammed? You have the option to request a revision if the work isn't done to your liking. Fiverr has been better than most companies when it comes to taking care of the buyer.
