The Good Dog app made it so easy for us to connect with a verified and legitimate breeder. We sent messages and made all payments safely through the app. Now we have our new puppy! Seamless experience, thank you!
As a breeder, Gooddog is sketchy. They don't give breeders second chances if something goes wrong with the puppy they just automatically delete their account they have worked so hard to build up. If something every was to go wrong with a puppy after the buyer gets the puppy they should educate and say this is what you need to do and just suspend their account for so many months as a punishment and if that breeder doesn't improve then there account should be deleted and they shouldn't recognize that breeding program.

I have several friends that use Good Dog that had 0 requirements to do any heath testing on their dogs or pups before joining the site. When I tried to join they wanted me to heath test my dogs and rejected my approval based on the type of breed I have! Good Dog is a biased JOKE!

Hi Chris,
We’re glad that a member of our team has already been able to connect with you and share more information about our Community Standards, Good Breeder Code of Ethics, and Policies, and how they may apply to an individual breeding program.
As they mentioned, all programs that are recognized on Good Dog must meet our Community Standards, Code of Ethics, and Policies (linked below), and may be subjected to periodic audits to ensure that our Community Standards are upheld.
-https://www.gooddog.com/breeder-code-of-ethics
-https://www.gooddog.com/good-breeder-center/good-dog-article-toc#good-dog-policies
We understand that our Compliance Team let you know about the necessary changes you’d need to make to your program in line with our Standards, and that should those changes be made, we’d be happy to re-evaluate your program at the end of the six month timeframe our team communicated to you.
We understand that not everyone will agree with our approach, but we know that you, as a dog breeder, are working very hard and that you have a breeding program to be proud of. We continue to wish you all the best.
Kind Regards,
Good Dog Team
I have been with Good Dog for quite some time, and my experience has taken a disappointing turn. Initially, I was pleased with the platform, but issues began to arise when they started collecting fees on puppy sales without any prior notification. I only found out about these charges when a buyer informed me they were charged both a deposit fee and an additional fee on the final payment. This lack of transparency is unacceptable.
Furthermore, I attempted to apply for my Frenchies, only to be rejected due to a "no Merle" policy. It's baffling to think that dogs are being discriminated against based on their color. Since when do we judge dogs in this way? After my initial denial, I was informed that I needed to wait six months and not have any Merles in my program before reapplying. I complied, rehomed my Merles, and have since had none in my program. Yet, I was denied again for the same reason!
This policy feels arbitrary and unfair. Good Dog's approach to dog breeds and colors is not only confusing but also quite frustrating. I would advise anyone considering their services to think twice. Save yourself the hassle and find a more transparent and fair platform for your dogs. Good Dog is a joke—remove your dogs from their program and look elsewhere.

Hi Xavier,
Thank you for reaching out. Although we understand that you have not been a member of our community since May, we’re happy to share more information about the recent changes we made to our pricing structure for breeders, which we announced to our community in August.
With this change, when we've done the work of connecting a Good Dog breeder with a Good Dog buyer and they decide to place one of their pups with them, there will be a 6.5% deduction applied to the deposit (if they have one) and dog payments with that buyer. We're committed to building a stronger, more sustainable platform for all our breeders, and this pricing structure helps ensure our services remain viable long-term.
All programs that are recognized on Good Dog must meet our Community Standards, Code of Ethics, and Policies, to ensure our standards are enforced consistently and fairly. We’re glad that a member of our team has already been able to connect with you and share more information about these standards and policies, including our Merle Policy. As they shared with you, Good Dog does not recognize breeding programs that produce merle French Bulldogs as outlined in Good Dog’s Policy on Merles: https://www.gooddog.com/good-breeder-center/good-dogs-policy-on-merles
We understand that our Compliance Team let you know about the necessary changes you’d need to make to your program in line with our Standards, and that should those changes be made, we’d be happy to re-evaluate your program at the end of the six month timeframe our team communicated to you.

I have already referred others to GoodDog. I liked that I could see who the breeder was, where they are located, and I was able to message the breeder to ask questions before reserving the puppy.
I could see these are from good, reputable breeders by seeing their name and location.
Back in the day, we’d have to go visit a breeder and possible purchase a pup unseen. I loved that I could find someone in my area, and literally have the “pick of the litter” by seeing hundreds of available puppies! I felt so comfortable with the breeder I chose, and my puppy is perfect!

I was looking for an English Bulldog, which can be a challenge. Good Dog vetted breeders so I didn't have to worry about a potential scam. They also followed up during the process and provided useful articles for bringing home a puppy. Overall, great experience.

Good Dog was so easy to use, from the search function all the way to the end. Customer service is super responsive.
I did some research and liked the fact that Good Dog vets breeders. Not just anyone is accepted.

We found our new furbaby at Ali-Mae Cavaliers through Good Dog. Our breeder was helpful and kind. I had some tech issues (my lack of skill, not Good Dog's issue) and contacted their help line and received timely and effective help--I even got a live person on a Sunday! We have a beautiful, healthy pup and could not be happier with him!
We had previously adopted a dog using Good Dog and had a positive experience. We had lost our 15 year old Lhasa Apso, Lily, to cancer, and our other dog, Beau, a 12 year old Cavalier King Charles spaniel/mini poodle rescue, who also had cancer, was devastated. We thought we'd lose him too if we didn't find him a new canine friend soon. We loved Lhasas but could not find a rescue that was described as dog and cat friendly (we have 2 rescue cats) that lived on the East Coast. We started looking at breeders online (and wanted very much to avoid puppy mill breeders) and found Good Dog. (I googled the breeders we were interested in to see if I could find evidence/reviews independent of Good Dog-- I did.) We found our Lhasa, Lucy, and she made all the difference for Beau. He perked up the day she came home, and began to play. He outlived his predicted lifespan by more than a year. When he passed this summer, we wanted to find Lucy a new companion. We also wanted a Cavalier, as we'd had such a good experience with Beau. We looked at rescues and even applied for a dog that got adopted by someone ahead of us, and then turned to Good Dog again. Our new pup, Desi, is a sweet, happy little boy, and is a great companion for our Lucy.
I have 2 wonderful dogs because of Good Dog. Their website is easy to use; I received timely, friendly help both through email and phone calls. I'm very happy with the experiences I've had with Good Dog.

Found breeder Nicole in Nevada and what a great experience speaking with her.
Nicole was so easy to talk with and had so much knowledge on all the questions I asked. I learned so much from her.
The care that she gives her puppies is awesome.
I found Good Dog on the internet when looking for puppies. From what Nicole explained to me, Good Dog has very high standards that their breeders must follow.

Working with Glen & Lorna on getting a puppy was wonderful! They communicated well & answered all of our questions. They raise their puppies in a loving home and the puppies are well socialized. I would highly recommend North Country Cockers and Glen & Lorna!
We were looking for a good breeder and the likelihood that the breeder would be from out of town we felt that this website was solid and honest. We are from AZ and found our wonderful puppy from MN.

Hello, this is the first time I've used the GoodDog website to find a puppy with my brother. The site is very user friendly, easy to use, and has easy to use and simple features. Support was friendly and helpful, and we were able to find a new puppy in about a week or two of looking through pictures and breeder profiles. The website allows you to chat with breeders, share information, pictures, and even pay deposits, from start to finish, of the entire process for finding and purchasing a new puppy companion. Our new puppy arrives this coming Monday!
We found GoodDog through google searches, and stumbled upon it, however after using it and getting a new puppy, with all the great features and user-friendly functionality, we will definitely be recommending the site to friends and family to find their new puppy companions too!

I have had to talk to the support team on many occasions. I find everyone I have talked with has been extremely helpful. They have walked me through every step of the way.
Because I wanted serious buyers, not someone who was just “kicking tires”. I was able to establish my breeding program my way and with the help and advice from GDB.

Best site we could find.

My experience with Good Dog has been excellent! Initially, I had no idea this site even existed and in fact, stumbled upon it inadvertently while looking for Goldendoodle breeders online. Admittedly, I was somewhat concerned about using such a site but after reading numerous reviews of the breeders represented and by the the site itself I felt confident enough to adopt my darling, Goldendoodle puppy, from Trisa of Forever Yours Goldendoodles. The entire process was lovely. I am so happy to have found Good Dog and to have found such a sweet, beautiful GoldenDoodle puppy who is without a doubt, the puppy of my dreams! In my experience I have found the Good Dog Site to be trustworthy, informative and just plain excellent!

Well after searching several websites and different apps that took me to several States throughout the US a lady at a pet store mentioned the Good Dog app. I was surprised to find the beautiful little puppies I was looking for so close to home. I didn't trust some of the other people I was considering and a few never even gave their names and were all eager for me to send money.
After finding our Baby Boy@ Rose Petal Corgis and knowing she was only about 35 minutes away I decided to go with her baby. He is exactly what we wanted we got to meet him before he was old enough to come home. She was very nice and kept me updated on his health and how his days are going. I had no worries knowing he was in good spirits and almost old enough to come home. Thank you Karla Asay (Rose Petal Corgis)
I just didn’t trust the other websites and apps I was trying. Not professional at all, to many discrepancies

I found Hood Dog while searching for Yorkie breeders near me. The website was easy to navigate and right away I found the puppy I wanted from a reputable breeder. The Good Dog staff was super helpful as I made contact with the breeder and kept their support throughout the puppy purchase process too, with several follow up emails, information about training and insurance, etc.
Because I found its website while looking for Yorkie breeders in my area and liked its format and overall reviews

My wife and I could not be happier with the puppy we got from Jan. We acquired him at the age of 4 months and he was already trained for pee pads, sitting and shaking hands! He meshed with the shih tzu we already had at home in minutes and now they are inseparable. He is VERY smart also. All papers were included and the price paid was more than reasonable. My wife and I would highly recommend anyone seeking a shih tzu to consider Jan!

I purchased Bentley October 1,2022. He has such a beautiful personality & loving & affectionate puppy. His mom passed away after giving birth to him. Third of a litter of 3. The breeder OMG what a spectacular job Debi Lynn did. I call her the breeder extraordinaire. It was so evident of her love and care for the puppies. When I purchased Bentley, he was 3 months, old and train. I didn't have to do very much in regard to training him. I just picked up where she left off. We love our little boy. Thank you Debi. We live you!

My excellent little Lucky II is such an enjoyable creature!
He has personality.
He is playful and smart.
Not even 6 months old and learning to use the puppy pads already. 95% of the time...
He is starting to bark in enjoyment and also for alert if a stranger is at the door...he amazes me every day!
Everyone at my company loves him and he reciprocates with licking and twirling!
I chose Good Dog because every breeder I came across was not professional.
Good Dog was great!
Anna and Irina were so amenable to me. I was allowed to meet Lucky before I paid for him.
NOT sight unseen!
Irina and George were such excellent caregivers to their dogs. Wonderful experience!

I thought that we missed such a platform where breeders and those interested in getting a dog would meet, but luckily, such a platform was already existing. I am glad that I have discovered it right on time. I have been looking for a Hungarian vizsla for almost a year and could find it nowhere yet. Here, I just searched for this breed and immediately saw 25 options.
I appreciate that you can filter the results by "Near me," but it seems that the filter doesn't work, or maybe the solicitors have not entered their location. The results before and after I applied the filer are the same—there is no difference.
Maybe I am doing something wrong, please correct me if that's the case.

Good Dog helps more people find good breeders like ourselves in one simple place. Plus they give us the ability to vet each individual that reaches out, and see if they would be a good fit for raising one of our amazing puppies.
We was recommended to good dog from one of our puppy parents. They believed it will help others have a chance to find us.

I had great success placing puppies in great homes though Good Dog during the pandemic. Partially continued success in 2022. It will be interesting to see what 2023 brings. The only really good prospect I have so far for my, hopefully, on the way litter who is a Good Dog applicant has been waiting for a puppy since 2021.
The positive vibes I felt at that time from the staff. I felt they were, truly, on a mission to help responsible heritage breeders.

Best friends made here. Good Dog makes it simple for people to get dogs from good sources and for reputable breeders, shelters and rescues to put their dogs in good homes. And we provide all the support and guidance you need to feel confident every step of the way!
Hi Maddie,
Thank you for reaching out. Providing a safe and positive experience for everyone in our community is a top priority. That’s why all breeding programs featured on Good Dog must meet our standards, and we regularly review our breeders to ensure continuous compliance with these standards. While it’s important to us to enforce these standards consistently and fairly, it’s always our goal to work directly with breeders who may not be currently meeting these standards, and educate them about how to improve their programs.
After checking our records, we haven't been able to locate any Good Dog Breeder accounts under your name. We want to make sure we're providing you with the most accurate information possible, so if there might be an account under a different name or if you need any assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us at breederteam@gooddog.com. Our team is always here to help.
Warmly,
The Good Dog Team
