Why are guests being charged a fee by Homeaway? I thought the exhorbitant fees I pay for listing covered the guests. AirBnB charges guests but not owners. It should be one or the other NOT BOTH. My guests think it is ME making the charge

I don't think our guests are aware of the rip-off yet. Look what it took for us to figure out what they are doing.

Terrible experience. Homeaway states their is a covid-19 policy but they do not adhere to their own policy. The landlord has treated us terribly, refused to give any refund and Homeaway has been very difficult to work with. Will never rent from a Homeaway property again.

As an owner/host you can always join StaySavr and they provide several ways for the cleverer guests to contact you direct and cut out the homeaway fees.
